“Josh Duhamel’s wife loves his son”

We were starting an oft talked about topic, how I get melancholy and anxious the day before we get his SS11 back (week on/off). I didn’t want to talk about it but he kept asking why Im down and said “oh it’s prob about SS 😒” and I said I dont see a point in talking about it (that two weeks in a row we either are getting him early and/or BM picks up late).

he says he was listening to a podcast with Josh Duhamel who remarried 4 years ago in which he said “My wife loves my 12 year old, it’s great” 🫪 basically a jab at me asking why I can’t be like that. I said they’re millionaires and probably don’t even see the kids as often as normal people so why are we comparing???

just a vent at another dumbass thing a bio parent says

No, we do not want extra time like bio parents do.

Why is it such a shock when we as steps are blindsided by schedule changes and are less than thrilled about having the SK's more days? DH cannot understand why 2 extra days (10 days in a row with no school mind you) is a lot for me.

rant over

150% tip!

I went out to a Jonathans grill. Waitress admitted it was slow, she was familiar with the rest of my group and spent more time chatting than actually taking orders. In fact, she got an order wrong and forgot to bring something I had asked for. Took forever to even take our orders and get the check despite it being slow.

my bill comes, around $22. i add a 15% tip, it was $3.30.

tell me why my card was charged $55? she moved the decimal and really thought i was tipping $33. maybe a mistake but use common sense

Im calling the GM tomorrow! thankfully I have the original receipt i guess

How different are work/hw expectations in 6th grade (middle school) vs 5th grade?

From what I've seen 5th grade (end of elementary here in TN) barely had any homework. How different is the workload/expectations in middle school?

Weekend/weekday custody dynamic--who has any insights?

We are changing custody this fall where my husband will have sunday nights to Friday mornings, except for the last weekend of the month. BM will have 3/4 weekends a month (except where there are 5 weekends in a month she will have 4/5), every spring break and 7/10 weeks in summer.

anyone thats been on either side of that, how was it? does it really become an issue that one house is the weekend house and one isnt?

edit to add: we have week on week off currently, changing because BM wanted to move an hour + away to be with bf (who has 3 kids of his own). if its relevant at all we are trying for a baby currently if that adds anything to the dynamic prediction.
