What is the earliest evidence or theorized date, that humans belonging to the Georgian cultural and linguistic family inhabited the Caucasus?
There are many different peoples in the Caucasus, but Georgians speak a language that is not part of the Indo-European language family. Given that Georgian appears to have developed independently in the region, my question is: How far back do historians and archaeologists theorize that Georgian-speaking or Proto-Kartvelian peoples settled in the Caucasus?
