New vs used CRF prices, am I missing something?

I'm looking at getting a CRF with ABS.

People around me are selling models that are a couple years old with 5 to 10,000 km on it for $6800-7000 CAD.

Right now the current year models are discounted at the dealership for $8000-8200 cad including all freight and fees.

To me it makes sense to spend $1, 000/1500 more to get a new bike, but clearly these ones must be selling at these prices still. Am I missing something? Is there some benefit to having a bike that's already broken in? Is it worth the 1000$?

Is a 2004 f650gs Dakar a good starter bike?

Looking at one that has 40k km. This would be my first bike, but I'm slightly worried about weight and reliability.

Trying to decide between this and a 300l, but the 300l is almost double the price.

2004 F650GS Dakar vs CRF 300l Rally?

This would be my first bike, I'm thinking between the two because I want ABS, but am slightly worried about the weight/sized difference between the 2.

The BMW is going for 4000$ and the CRF at 8500.

I'm not sure what percentage of trail vs road riding I want since I'm new

New CRF Rally or used DRZ as first bike?

I have the option to buy a used DRZ for 5k, or I can buy a new CRF rally for 9k (Cad).

My only concern is, being new I would like to have ABS. On the other hand, I worry about dropping a brand new bike while I'm learning and messing it up.

There doesn't seem to be a middle ground near me where I can find a cheap used ABS dual sport. Summer is passing me by and I would like to get riding so that I can finish getting my full license.

What would you recommend?

Partial dislocation vs strain/tear after impact, how do I know what it was?

Anyone here who has had a partial dislocation? Did you 'know' it was a dislocation as soon as it happened?

I reached out my arm to stop a heavy item from falling, and I don't remember what happened next because it was fast. I'm not sure if it pushed my shoulder into the socket or out of it.

I heard a bit a pop like a knuckle pop. My arm was dead for maybe 2 seconds. Pain was high for 2 seconds. Then it felt normal but just weak and painful on the front and rear rotator cuffs.

Within 30 mins of that accident, I could still move my arm normally and if didn't feel unstable really other than pain making me hesitate. Especially behind the back and reaching out forward.

One physio said it could have been a cuff strain and hit of compressed the nerve. Another suspects more of a mild partial dislocation.

How would I know which it was without scans? The wait for a scan is a few weeks minimum.

Partial dislocation /subluxation of shoulder, how do I know if labrum it has tears or just stretched?

I had an accident at work trying to stop something from falling and heard a bit of a pop, felt some pain, but then everything seemed to go back to normal in a few seconds.

My rear rotator cuff muscles and some of my deltoid muscles have only just stopped hurting two weeks later. I have most of my range of motion back already two weeks after the accident.

Unfortunately in my country the wait time for an MRI is multiple months, is there any way of knowing whether it tore any ligaments or stretched them? Is it possible to have this happen without tearing or should I assume that there was tearing?

Replaced carburetor, throttle cable is now slightly too long?

I have a 1986 Yamaha XT350 that had a very problematic carburetor. I found out online that the carburetor from a Honda rebel works, I tried it myself and so far it runs great.

Only issue is that the throttle cable is a bit too long and I can't tighten up the slack with these short little adjusters.

Is there a solution to this? is there some kind of extender I can put on the housing so that it fits? or do I need a custom cable?

Is this popping doing damage to my engine?

XT350 with a stubborn dual carb that pops and chuffs while idling. Is this likely damaging my engine?

Double carburetor four-stroke bike almost stalls randomly? Also every odd engine cycle (randomly) it sounds like a decompressing noise or hiss sound instead of the normal 'putt putt putt ' sounds. what could be causing this? 1986 XT350

Like the title mentions, I'm currently in municipal wastewater treatment but I feel like after a year I'm already stagnating quite a bit in my learning. It would take me two more years to get to the next certification level, but I can't imagine learning that much in that time here. How do you guys manage staying at a job/changing to continue improvement? When is it a good time to change plants or into private/industrial?
