480x2 moving smooth this week. Thinking 550 at the end of July
150 lb axle clean & strict press
130 axle clean and strict press, hoping to get 155 at max effort next week
A few sets of deficits tonight, 375 for a triple
Light pulls this week, 430 for a 3x3. 6.5 weeks out
Keeping it lighter this week, 430 for a 3x3 on deads
Working on sandbag to shoulder, finally able to one motion 175
Trying to figure out where to go from here, wondering if anyone has any suggestions or thoughts?
Background info first - I currently work as a pharmacy tech making ~$24/hr, married to a spouse making somewhat over $100K (it's nursing adjacent, but her field is specific enough that I don't wanna divulge it). So money isn't *super* important honestly; we already own a place and are fairly comfortable, but more is always better. I've also legitimately failed or withdrawn out of a bachelor's degree a double digit number of times, so my belief in being able to finish a full degree is effectively none.
I'm capable of basically anything physically demanding, with the note that I can't stand for an entire shift due to plantar fasciitis. Outside of that, though, there's not a physical demand within a job I couldn't handle. My current thoughts are as follows:
- Finish my accounting degree - Objectively the best option. By far the highest paying, gives the most stability, and doesn't rely on my staying physically healthy. However, I honestly severely doubt my ability to finish a degree at this point, and I don't think I'd be happy working within an office all day
- PTA School - From a finance perspective, not ideal; a bump from $24ish/hr to $30/hr would be nice, but not move mountains nice. I do think it's a role I'd enjoy. Ideally I'd like to work in some sort of sports medicine role, using this to leverage into a coaching role for things such as strongman and powerlifting, but that would be a pure hypothetical at this point.
- Go into a trade - The middle ground, pay's better than PTA, but worse than accounting unless you kill yourself with OT. Also tricky to get into without knowing someone, somewhat (okay extremely) toxic work culture, and probably the most likely to trigger my Plantar Fasciitis, but also very easy to just leave work at work here.
That's where I'm at so far, but very open to any other suggestions.
145x1 on axle strict press while down 8 lbs in 3.5 weeks
Science bag carry into scientific sled drag
Slowly ramping up, 430x2 faster than 405x2 last week
First deadlift of the block, keeping it very light; aiming for 600 in comp come September
Been dealing with this for months now, hoping to get some advice
So when working my last job, the pain from PF was so severe the idea of doing exercises to strengthen and fix the pain wasn't feasible.
I started a new job a few weeks ago, and the pain is much more manageable, but still there. So I'd like to start strengthening whatever I need to to resolve the issue for good. Unfortunately, no idea what to do in regards to fixing PF; any advice would be welcome. Entirely flat footed if that changes anything.
