From booking a Kylaq to owning my dream Taigun GT Plus Sport in just one week!
“And, when you truly want something, the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
— Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
A year ago, I never imagined I’d own a Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport. It was simply beyond my budget.
I’ve always wanted a 1.5L turbo petrol car. I love driving, and the 1.5 TSI was always a dream. But realistically, I couldn’t afford it.
So I booked a Skoda Kylaq, and I was genuinely happy with my decision. My delivery was scheduled for September 16, and I had made peace with the fact that my dream would have to wait.
The following weekend, my wife and I went out for a few casual test drives. I wanted her to experience the Kylaq before delivery.
We also drove the new Renault Duster, which she absolutely loved.
On our way back, we happened to pass a Volkswagen showroom. I knew the Taigun was outside my budget, but I thought, “Let’s just go in and have a look.”
We walked in and sat inside a Lava Blue Taigun GT Plus Sport.
The sales executive casually mentioned that Volkswagen was offering discounts worth around ₹3 lakh.
I was shocked.
One conversation turned into serious negotiations, and after a lot of back and forth, I managed to get around ₹3.5 lakh in discounts along with free accessories.
That was the moment everything changed.
I booked the Taigun the very same day.
For the next week, I could barely sleep because I was so excited.
Just a week later, I took delivery of my dream car.
It’s been only three days, and I’ve already driven 750 km. I literally can’t stop finding reasons to take it out. Every drive reminds me why I wanted the 1.5 TSI DSG in the first place. The power, refinement, handling, and effortless highway cruising have exceeded all my expectations.
It still feels surreal that a car I thought was completely out of reach just a year ago is now parked in my driveway.
Sometimes life changes because of one unexpected stop.
To everyone who’s chasing their dream car: don’t stop dreaming, and don’t stop asking questions or negotiating. You never know when the right opportunity will come along.
No regrets. Not even for a second. ❤️🚙
