Noticed this behavior in Peak Brightness (LG Ultragear)

Monitor allows you to release brightness limit through "low" and "high" values of Peak Brightness but it seems there is some "auto master limiter" anyway.

I set the peak at Low for SDR with brightness at 100 and i just realized that there is no difference between Low and High depending on situation.

Im playing God of War on PS5 and the brightness increases a little bit from Low to High in a less well-lit place like caves, but it makes no difference in outdoor settings.

Is this some kind of display protection? All oled display does that, including tvs?

It's so weird cause it happens in HDR as well and doesn't make sense as HDR is even dimmer. (Energy saving and any related feature are completely disabled)

RE Requiem: glitch na mira? (PS5 Pro)

Vertical banding consistency - LG Ultragear 32" GX850A-B

It's actually a 90% black screen in dark room but the camera offset the brightness by itself, sorry.

I know it's such a good uniformity but monitor arrived with some very noticeable vertical bars, thank God it ended up like this after pixel refresh.

Should i be worried anyway?

Is it anyway possible to reset the hour counter on the LG Ultragear monitors?

I wonder if it's possible to reset its usage hours

Is this a Genesis 2 clone?

Maybe it's Korean but i've seen other Korean boards and none look like this one.

A little nudge to help me choose between a TV and a monitor for PS5

I understand that a monitor is better suited for PC gaming while a TV is better for consoles. Although a TV makes more sense in this scenario, something bothers me: the fact that they are now Smart devices and we know that a smart device is yours yet not entirely yours cause through updates the manufacturer might make more changes to "your" device in a single year than you ever do by yourself.

TVs have attractive features like comfort, more brightness, big size, remote, built-in speakers, more connection ports, etc. But there are two aspects that don't appeal to me:

1- They process video more heavily than monitors do. The image usually looks better on a TV thanks to color enhancement, detail boosting, and sharpening, however, this comes at the cost of lower performance. Activating "Game Mode" disables many of these processes, resulting in a "rawer" image that is closer to the source material much like a monitor, so potato potato in that regard.

2- The aforementioned "Smart" technology. Rather than going into detail, i’ll share a few report of issues out there that can arise after a firmware upgrade:

--- Recently got a C5 65” and it was working great till this morning when it auto updated to 33.31.69 since then none of the apps including app store load properly. TV becomes slow as well. Tried factory reset which fixed the issue but updating to latest firmware brought back the errors again

--- The previous firmware update fucked up my Wi-Fi.

--- Don’t update!!! On G5 input lag for gaming is increased

So unfortunately i’m leaning toward choosing a monitor despite the numerous advantages of TVs (including the excellent current LG C and G series), primarily because of the pain in the neck a firmware update can give. Yes, updates are skippable but i fear that i might fall into that trap soon or later. I also know that monitors get updates as well but at least it's guaranteed to happen only manually on them.

I believe your thoughts might help me change my mind or at least refine my decision.

EDIT: would a oled monitor have less input latency than oled tv anyway?

Should i get motion blur on Oled Ultragear GX8 32" monitor @60hz?

Ordered it for ps5 gaming but i don't have the console yet so i hooked the ps3 expecting to see no motion blur, but it's exactly the same as my old Benq Zowie LCD full hd.

Sorry for my ignorance, im new on oled and modern gaming.
