FTI TTP & eOCI experience

Got FTITTP done in January, got the eOCI done a couple months ago. Got a chance to experience both with Delhi as port of entry this Sunday. Had e arrival and e airsuvidha as well.

The e-gates glitched a few times with not being able to read the passport the attendant came in to help she kept asking me if my FTITTP was active, it was and then on the 5th attempt it worked.
(Despite multiple attempts it was quick).

Then as I crossed the first gate into the enclosure with the screen and camera the finger prints wouldn’t work, then the attendant said my hands were too dry and to rub my fingers in my hair so it picks up natural oils - it worked!

No one asked for OCI physical card or eOCI card Or the eArrival form either.

They did ask to see the airsuvidha declaration form pdf but it felt like a minor formality because she seemed to not even read it.

All in all despite the malfunctioning / waiting the entire thing took about 10 minutes. About the same as what it would take in the regular line but much quicker compared to the waiting time for your turn on a regular line.

Assuming a best case glitch free process it is rapid and painless
, the agents are prompt, competent and polite, feels really nice to see us stepping up our game!

MagSafe on ultra

I’ve been reading about the lack of MagSafe given the impossibly thin form factor it needs to achieve. I have an iPad mini and a 17 promax. I don’t use the telephoto lens much so for me I would appreciate a device that eliminates 2 devices.
What I’m a bit wary of is the fact I have been using the iPhone MagSafe wallet since the time they first introduced it and I feel that option will be lost.
2 devices become one but a wallet needs to be carried separately.

What do you all think?

Why did God create any of this?

I understand the usual explanations around karma, dharma, rebirth and moksha. My question is one step before all of that.

Why does the system exist at all?

If God is complete and needs nothing, why create souls, life, karma, birth and rebirth, only for those souls to eventually seek moksha and return to or realize their oneness with God?

I’m not asking why we should follow dharma or seek moksha. I’m asking why there is anything to begin with.

Is this question addressed anywhere in Hindu scripture or philosophy? Upanishads, Vedanta, Tantra, Kashmir Shaivism, or by a particular teacher or author?

I would genuinely appreciate a reference if there is one.

Model X replacement option

I just saw the 2027 BMW X5. I love that it has auto opening doors, if it can charge at tesla super chargers and the software stays reasonably up to date I think I might get it once I’m ready to move on from the X. What else is out there ?

Rate my casseroles

I have been experimenting with volume eating - I find it a bit easier to eat fewer larger meals. I realized Greek yogurt, egg whites and chicken breast / tuna was very filling. So I started experimenting with mixing it into a baking tray and nuking it for 20 minutes at 350F in an air fryer.

I have been pretty pleased with the results. I have about 2 lbs of food and depending on if I use more fatty protein like sardines, sausages vs chicken breast or tuna in water or if I add cheese or whole eggs instead of egg whites. I can go from 600 at its leanest to 900. It’s been incredibly satisfying and largely keeping my food noise low.

I cleaned up and made a sample recipe / ingredient list on ChatGPT (because i keep varying it everyday with a different ingredient ) and posted the pics of many of these casseroles (some are raw some cooked) .

TBH it tastes way better than it looks. Cutting the center feels a bit goey like pot pie and the edges are chewy and quiche like. It’s making me stick to my deficit.

Thank you and wish you the best!

Service dogs in first

This sub gets a lot about poorly behaved “service” dogs, or flyers abusing the system I thought I’d add one more.

This week, pax next to me was traveling with two poodles. A little 10-pound one curled up on the window-side armrest. The big guy, probably 75 pounds, settled on the floor. I was annoyed initially I was cramped despite being in first, anxious if he bit me or relieved himself.

About halfway through the flight, the big one decides to put his head on top of my feet and just fall asleep. I found myself barely moving because I didn’t want to wake him. It brought back memories of when my daughter was a baby and would fall asleep in my arms, and I’d stay perfectly still for as long as I could so she would sleep.

The owner was incredibly considerate, and apologized, I wasn’t entirely comfortable but it felt warm and fuzzy. I was tired, sleep deprived and flying back home, annoyed about the heat the humidity everything but somehow I felt grateful dogs exist.

Figured I’d share the fuzzy feelings here. Happy fourth to my fellow Americans!

Intuiting vs Understanding KS

For practitioners of KS, did it start making sense to you logically and by reading texts or was it through practice of Tantra / VBT / dhyaan that you intuited its understanding.

Why is KS compelling ?

For followers of KS what are some core ideas or concepts you found to be compelling or perhaps uniquely insightful compared to other frameworks that explain the world around us ?

I have started to scratch the surface of Advaita and KS and I don’t think I am seeing the light….yet

The “why” doesn’t satisfy

Often when we discuss why suffering exists, why free will matters, or why prayer is important, we get strong first-order answers. For example: suffering is tied to prarabdha karma, prayer deepens connection with the deity, or ultimately “it is all Lila”.

But my question is one level deeper: why?

If God is powerful enough to create or dissolve existence itself, why structure creation around ignorance, suffering, rebirth, karma, and consequences at all?

Why create beings that must struggle toward understanding over lifetimes? What is the actual purpose of this entire experiment ?

I have searched for this across the FB groups and here but I haven’t found anything more descriptive than “shudder at hard acceleration”.

Could someone describe it in a bit more detail is it like road feedback or does the wheel shake ? Is it at a constant high speed or just during acceleration. I have a 23X with the 22 inch wheels the ride has always been a bit stiff - I can’t tell if it’s half shaft issues or a stiff ride or I’m being hyper aware of every noise.
