Was great seeing the cast and hearing their stories!
Uber now can make a digital clone of you to use however they please.
Boyd and Ellis are the real keys to the story.
Its always felt very obvious to me that Boyd was the main character of this story. That his story was the most important. (Definitely the most interesting)
And im starting to think that this whole focus on Jade/Tabitha is a big distraction. Maybe even all apart of the Man in Yellows plan. This is just an intuition, but it also feels like the most logical place the story can go if im right.
Boyd clearly has power. So much so that I think it may be the key to defeating the evil in this place. We see this displayed flat out when he commands Donna to live. He wills it into existence.
Why else would it be so important that the Monsters break him?
Its implied that the MIY (or similar dark forces) are what got into Boyds Wife's head. This is kind of hinted at with Henry. And it seems that these both may also both be attempts to break him. We dont know how he will react when he sees Henry act out on this belief and how that will affect him being that it reflects how his wife went crazy. And what kept him strong after he was forced to kill his wife? Who was he protecting, who is he staying alive fighting to protect the most. We'll get back to this.
But most of all, why was Sophia/MIY showing some hint of fear during the town meeting? Clearly the plot didn't work. So she had nothing to fear right? Wrong.
What she was fearing was Boyd. But why?
Not just because he was so confident, or because he carries enough charisma to get the town to team up and fight back.
But because he vocalized it. He believes it wholeheartedly and spoke it into existence. He made the man in yellow fear him in that moment.
And what is the source of this indomitable will? Ellis.
Harold Perrineau said it in a recent interview, and its extremely fitting given his character Michael from Lost and that shows connections to this one, that Boyds #1 motivation is Saving his son. He will save his son and get him out of here.
And that puts a whole lot of emphasis on these statements we hear throughout the show. Things like "save the children" "kill the boy"
I think its really easy to forget and to overlook that Ellis is Boyds Child. His Boy. His character doesnt have a lot going on. Hes kind of in the backround despite being a main character. Because when you are thinking about the plot moving forward and mystery being revealed, Ellis just isnt involved. Which is most likely done intentionally to hide his overwhelming significance to the plot.
His dying would truly break Boyd. Truly destroy all the hope and motivation that he has left. And without that he might lose the power he holds. So he really only has one option: Save his child no matter what. Bring him home.
And i think it will be that undying determination that gives boyd the power to defeat the evil that haunts them all.
And I truly think hes going to be successful. And then his Parkinsons will probably take him, sadly. In a tragic but heroic ending for our main Character. He is the face of this show.
In the end I dont think whoever is left will get to leave fromville unfortunately. Something about the intro and themes of S1 stick out to me.
Talks between Tabitha and Julie stick out. About how being there has brought them closer together. Scenes from colony house of joy, family, and togetherness. The reality that during that period of peace. They all had something amazing that was devastating to lose.
Something that always stuck out to me in the most profound way the painting at the end of the s1 intro. Of a dark skinned man and a lighter skinned woman. Naked. So clearly Ellis and Fatima almost resembling Adam and Eve. Which is fitting considering the biblical references scattered throughout the show.
I think the show will end with them still stuck in the town, maybe they could leave🤷♂️ but maybe they dont want to with the evil vanquished.
But i think that we will see a return to where things used to be. Peaceful, loving, and united. And I think in true Adam and Eve origin of humanity nature. Ellis and Fatima will be at the center of it all. Pregnant with the first child born into this new world.
And it will all be made possible because of Boyd and his love for his son.
Thank you all for giving all this a read.
I could be completely wrong. But my favorite part about this show is the mystery and imagining all the many ways each thread of information could interact with another.
Let me know what you guys think, id love to hear your takes.
Give fighter a better sprint or change how doors work
Just feels like a worthless perk at this point. Even with agility rolls, swift, and sprint it just feels like i am endlessly chasing any class that isnt a fighter barb or cleric.
And when I do manage to get close with a sprint, im getting like 1 hit max in the split second i have before the speed decreases and they outspeed me and take off.
And honestly this wouldnt even be that necessary of a upgrade if the door system wasnt so stupid.
The fact that a person can just stand there and that their player model blocks you from getting through the door with them, but the door can just go through me and be shut while im mid stabbing them at point blank with my sword is even more ridiculous.
Now i open the door, get shot or spelled from halfway across the module. And the chase is on again but now you are hit.
Can't even walk away from the fight because they see they have you frustrated and fed up and they just switch and chase you down and outplay you again on speed.
I guess I could do lighter gear but honestly if I wasnt already at a huge disadvantage speed wise, linen fighter is just made out of glass with no real bonuses to attack power. So almost all fighter/barb fights will need to be taken at range because im in linens... which means im definitely gunna need weapon mastery....
Why am I not just playing a ranger with spear mastery at that point? For the longsword thats been nerfed into the ground over the last 6 updates?
Yikes
Built a PC 3 or 4 years back. It has ran great but has been shutting down randomly on me.
So I checked the temp and saw it was running a lil warm. Figured its time to change the paste.
Noticed this little orange tab under the old paste. Big yikes.
Yikes
Made a post about a bug report earlier.
Longsword is having serious issues with hits going straight through the block right now.
Some people seemed to think this was an intentional result of an update making hitboxes for blocks smaller.
I disagree. Grabbed video to back it up. What do you think?
EDIT: I made a new post and included footage of the bug since people on this post seem to think this might be an intentional update. Go check that out for extra context.
So just hopped on to try out the new season today and I think I found a bug with either the spectral knight or the longsword.
I noticed whenever im blocking his horizontal swings, they are clipping through the sword in a way they never used to do.
I've blocked these swings hundreds of times consistently and never had an issue with it the way that I have previously. I've even made a youtube guide on how to parry the spectral knight without taking damage because im so confident about it.
Before I used to be able to parry his swings at a bout a 30-50 degree angle to the left. Now if I am not turning a full 90 degrees to the left its clipping through the sword.
Not sure if Ironmace devs frequent the subreddit very often but might be something worth looking into
