I just completed Icebind run. - Don't pick Mobile Defense. Pick Disruption instead.

Disruption was by far the most ideal and comfortable mission type out of all the options. Every time you complete two conduits, the optional objective spawns at the location where the Demolisher was killed, allowing you to complete it quickly without risking mission failure.

Mobile defense, on the other hand, was by far the worst experience. You have to defend three terminals, and since the optional objective only spawns after activating a terminal, completing all three optional objectives requires all six players to abandon the final defense objective. This makes the mission extremely likely to fail, while the constant Defense → Objective → Defense → Objective → Defense → Objective cycle wastes a huge amount of time.

Personally, I really don't recommend mobile defense.

The blood and chunks of flesh that spilled out when the hatch was opened may be hinting at something much darker.

As you can see in the image, there is a drain positioned directly beneath the hatch, seemingly designed to efficiently dispose of the blood that pours out when it is opened. There is also no equipment in sight for storing or transporting any remains that are still relatively intact.

There is simply not enough evidence to conclude that the bodies merely melted after being exposed to a zerg acid attack.

So here's my theory: The Terran Dominion operates purely on efficiency. To make the recovery and repair process more efficient, they may have a system in which, if a soldier dies, a dissolving agent is pumped into their suit, completely dissolving the body inside.

In the end, all that remains of them is a golden identification tag.

How about making Preparation a built-in passive for every warframe and replacing the yellow archon shard's starting energy bonus with knockdown resistance instead?

The difference between most primed and non-primed mods is simply a matter of numbers, so using the non-primed version rarely causes any major issues.

Not you, Primed Sure Footed.

Unlike the normal sure footed, which only provides a 60% chance to resist knockdowns, PSF grants complete immunity to all knockdowns. The gap between the two versions is enormous. Furthermore, it's locked behind 400 days of login rewards and can't even be traded.

Because of this, I've seen many new players become frustrated by the lack of access to PSF. Without PSF, reaching 100% knockdown resistance requires additional mods, which means sacrificing valuable mod slots. So they ending up with a build that falls short of the setup they're ultimately looking for.

That's why I've been thinking about replacing one of the yellow archon shard bonuses with knockdown resistance. Alternatively, as was suggested in a previous devshorts comments, Preparation could simply become a built-in passive for every warframe.

I think either of these changes would be an great QoL improvement that benefits both new players and veteran players.

Rebecca told us to watch the animation and try to figure it out, so my guess is that Narin is based on the eastern concept of a celestial maiden.

In east asian myths, a celestial maiden is a mythical being from the heaven world. People rarely see them because they live up high, but stories say they sometimes come down to mortal world.

The main point here is "coming down from the sky." In korean, (Narin) sounds almost the same as (naerin), which means "descended from the sky." Since narin clearly has korea roots, this feels like an intended play on words.

This also matches her akimbo pistol animations. Her hand gestures and moves look almost like a dance, and dancing is a huge part of who celestial maidens are in these stories.

On top of that, in most tales, the main reason they come down is to bathe in clear pools or waterfalls. This makes a lot of sense this is why she is a new ice-themed warframe.

To be honest, nobody is actually farming 'kuva' anymore, right?

Almost all of players farm SE, riven slivers, voidplumes, or vitus essence, and then simply exchange those for kuva.

Everyone knows that farming kuva directly through kuva siphons, kuva survival, or kuva disruption is horribly inefficient and a complete waste of time.

It feels like the cart has been put before the horse. This is something that should have been addressed long before the upcoming riven rework.

Please significantly increase the amount of kuva earned from kuva-specific missions. Players need more opportunities to farming kuva directly.

6 years after the first Nights of Naberus, the lore surrounding Blue Kuva has finally been updated.

Blue kuva is said to be used only for temporary body swapping.

I wonder where we'll be able to get it. Maybe through the Narin mission?

DE shared a graph showing how much steel essence players were earning in Railjack.

They backed up the change by showing a graph, pointing out that steel essence gains in railjack were about four times higher than intended.

That makes sense. Most players would probably agree those numbers were excessive and needed to be adjusted. but was completely removing steel essence from survival missions really the only answer?

Why not just lower the drop rate? or spawn an elite enemy at regular intervals to replace acolytes? or at the very least, give crewships a small chance to drop steel essence when destroyed?

Doing something about the graph makes sense. but the way they chose is hard to accept.

RANT "We want more people to play railjack!"

"And we're removing the main reason people were playing it!"

Seriously?

If the steel essence drops were the problem, why not just adjust the drop rate?

Was completely removing the drops and giving people no reason to keep running railjack survival really the only solution?

This feels just like what happened back in veil proxima, when tether was basically gutted to stop mastery farming. or when void hole got reduced to nothing more than a small crowd control ability.

So... why should play railjack now?

Orion's first ability preview makes it look like it hits in a full 360 degrees, so why is it locked to an awkward 67.5 degree angle in-game? It's such a weird number.

I guess I'm just not touching steel path railjack.

This just isn't it. There isn't a single thing here that makes me think "this is what Steel Path Railjack should be," nor is there anything to build around or improve upon.

My railjack is fully maxed out. Every Intrinsic unlocked, every mod maxed, best-in-slot gear, and even specialized crew members. It's a finished setup. There's nothing left for me to grind or optimize.

And the SP railjack missions I played with that setup were just... awful.

Even firing the turrets until they completely overheated wasn't enough to take off a third of an enemy's health. Spamming seeker volley barely moved their health bars. Forward artillery wasn't cutting it either. Enemies that could be dealt with comfortably in normal missions had effectively become boss fights, taking up to a minute each to kill.

The only thing I felt throughout the whole experience was helplessness.

What exactly am I supposed to do here?

If this were any other SP mission on the regular star chart, I'd have options. I could upgrade mods, swap weapons, or optimize my build to deal with the challenge.

But with railjack? There is nowhere left to go. I can't get stronger. There isn't some better setup. And that's what makes the whole experience feel so helpless.

The only real answer would be entirely new progression. Tier 4 through Tier 6 armaments, new equipment, new mods, something to actually work toward. And if that had been the goal, this update would've basically been "Railjack 3.0".

After playing the new uranus railjack missions, I can't help but feel that steel path railjack only exists because the new missions needed a SP version, and DE simply went down the list and enabled SP for every existing railjack node without giving much thought to whether the mode actually worked there.

If that was really the extent of the thought process behind it, then honestly, steel path railjack would've been better off never being released at all.

TLDR: Unless steel path railjack gets a full rework, all that's left is a feeling of helplessness and a miserable experience.
