mês passado, pós castração, meu gato perdeu muito peso de maneira repentina, mesmo continuando a comer normalmente. ele fez exames, passamos com a especialista e felinos e ela falou que, com o quadro dele, era muito provavel de ser FELV, porém recebemos hoje o resultado do PCR de FIV/FELV e deu tudo negativo

nos exames o que deu alteração foi:

• linfonodos jejunais aumentados, medindo aproximadamente 2,38 × 0,46 cm, com contornos regulares, ecogenicidade preservada e ecotextura homogênea.
• presença de alguns ecos puntiformes em suspensão (sedimentos) no interior da bexiga. não há espessamento de parede nem outros sinais de doença urinária.
• proteínas plásmaticas 8,4 g/dL (referência: 6,0–8,0 g/dL) - hiperproteinemia leve
• aspecto da urina ligeiramente turvo
• PH da urina ácido: 5,0 (referência: 5,5–7,0)

de resto, tudo normal.

sendo assim, o que seria indicado investigarmos?

faz umas 3 semanas que meu gatinho está perdendo peso e hoje passamos com a especialista que disse que a probabilidade é de ser FELV. estamos aguardando o resultado do teste pra confirmar.

a sorte é que ele é jovem, e já fomos atrás do problema assim que começou, então com tratamento ele ficará bem. mas a ansiedade fica grande, claro, por isso queria muito ouvir algumas histórias de gatinhos com FELV que tem final feliz pra acalmar o coração <3

tenho uma gata de 4 meses com broncopneumonia, está em tratamento e quarta feira foi o ultimo dia de antibiótico, e começamos o desmame do prednisolona, ontem foi a primeira pausa.

até então ela estava bem, ainda com bastante secreção, mas estava fazendo lavagens (ela não aceita nebulização) e dando xarope expectorante (tussedan), e ela eliminando bastante secreção. estava com o comportamento normal também, em nenhum momento o comportamento dela se alterou.

até hoje. agora ela acabou de recusar comida, coisa que nunca achei que fosse ver ela fazer. parece que ela quer comer mas não consegue, sabe? por conta do muco, ela fica tentando eliminar.

dei ração, ela comeu 2 grãozinhos com muita lerdeza. dei sachê, ela lambeu só o caldinho, e foi deitar.

estou morrendo de preocupação porque isso não é normal pra ela, e não consigo levar ela no veterinário de novo esse mês até eu receber. temos petlove, mas adotamos ela agora e ainda está no período de carência, então já fizemos consultas e exames e já drenei tudo esse mês.

o que pode ser? como posso ajudá-la?

devo tentar fazer uma lavagem nasal ou será que ela ficou assim por conta da ultima lavagem que fiz hoje mais cedo?

i recently adopted a female cat from a rescue, and she had been recently spayed when i adopted her, maybe a few weeks before coming home. i already had a 2 year old cat who really needed company, and since i knew i'd be adopting soon, i got him neutered right before bringing her home.

i know after fixing it takes a while for the hormones to fully leave their bodies, and of course there was the adaptation phase in which we kept them in separate rooms for 2 weeks. during that time, however, my male cat would be at her door at all times desperatly wishing he was with her biting her neck and doing the deed lol

but it got better, and eventually we were done with the adaptation. so they were together and acting normally, loving on each other and playing a lot. he would sometimes get the urge and give her a little bite, i believe because of the remaining smells on the room she stayed at during her adaptation, but it would honesly be pretty rare occasions and it was always just a tiny little bite, then he would go right back to licking her or playing like normal.

then, out of the freaking blue, he's suddenly acting again like how he was during her first week of adaptation, meowing really loudly and really latching to her neck. so much so that now i have to keep them separate again as to not stress them too much, and that sucks. he bites pretty hard too, and he won't let go until we intervene, he'll even try to drag her, and she cried. one day he'll be fine, the other he'll be "trying to mate", randomly.

anyone has any idea how i can fix this behavior? i'll take any advice or shared experience, i'm desperate and upset that they were doing so well and bonding so nicely and now all of that's gone for seemingly no reason...

i do use feliway, and i did the adaptation process 100% like recommended.

adotei recentemente uma gatinha de 4 meses, nos ultimos dias ela apresentou muita tosse e secreção no trato respiratório. fez raio x no veterinario e o diagnóstico foi broncopneumonia.

nisso o veterinário receitou prednisolona 1x por dia na primeira semana, depois a cada 48h na segunda semana, e então a cada 72h na terceira semana (sendo a dose 0,5mg de 4mg), além de 25mg de agemoxi 2x por dia por 7 dias.

por ela ser filhotinha, fico preocupada de ser muito remédio, principalmente a prednisolona, e queria muito uma segunda opinião.

minha gatinha de 4 meses está com uns sintomas respiratórios e a veterinária disse pra pingar 1 gotinha rinosoro em cada narina por dia até melhorar, mas já vi outros venerinários com a opinião que rinosoro não é indicado para gatos e que pode causar dependência.

alguém sabe se é realmente seguro? existem alternativas?

okay so i'm of course looking to book an appointment with a neurologist, but i'm trying to understand what is it that i might have so i can know what both i and the doctor are talking about.

some of these symptoms i've had for a while now (marked with a *) and some i've had for a while but they tend to come and go (marked with **), as in i'll have them nonstop for months, then out of the blue i'll stop having them for months, then they come back and the cycle repeats.

i'm not sure if it could be SFN or hyperPOTS or even some other type of dysautonomia. i tend to look at nerve stuff like one issue and dysautonomia as another issue, but from this sub i'm guessing they could be related? still trying to understand all of it... anyways, here's my list of symptoms:

-lightheadedness and dizziness**

-tiredness**

-weakness**

-brain fog**

-muffled hearing**

-tinnitus**

-tachycardia/palpitations*

-tremulousness

-excessive sweating

-anxiety for no apparent reason**

-headaches**

-urinary urgency (sometimes i feel like i have to pee really badly, even if i haven't been drinking a lot of liquids, and it's usually a bunch of times in a couple hours)

-random ass chills*

-weird skin feelings (like cold drop of water or burning sensations very randomly, not very painful, just notable)**

-pins and needles especially on hands and fingers**

-carpopedal spasm (i call it "lobster claw")**, very random, usually lasts for seconds, sometimes a couple minutes - the severety varies and, while it can happen at any moment, i notice it tends to happen more often when i get up or when i get nervous about something

-mucus in throat

-chronic cough

-reflux when stadning up**

-hyperthermia**

-blurry vision

-feeling of something stuck in between toes when i walk a lot

-random joint pain (this is very new, sometimes it's for hours, sometimes it's a random "electric shock" type of pain in very random joints that last for seconds. if it's the longer lasting type, comes with weakness)

-restless leg syndrome*

i also had this super weird episode recently that seemed very out of the blue, i had this sudden abdominal pain that started mostly as discomfort, then it became painful very very quickly, i became extremely restless and agitated - no position was comfortable, i wanted to run and hide and i felt very hopeless like there was nothing i could do, like nothing would make it better. i also became kind of pale yellow, and maybe i became panicked and had a tetany reaction from that (it's kinda foggy the order in wich things happened, and tbh i do feel like i was more restless than panicked, it was very different from panick attacks i've had before and none of them caused this or anything close) but i had SEVERE carpopedal spasms in my hands and even a little bit in my lips. i could not move my hands out of the "lobster claw" pose for at least 20/30 minutes, very uncomfortable and painful. i had all of that all at once. ended up at the ER only to hear the doctor say it was gas (it wasn't gas).

anyways, it has been weird folks. and idk if it could be one thing, or multiple, or just a random vitamin deficiency (i did check recently, the only one i didn't check was vitamin D, but everything else was normal), so idk what to think.

anyone else with a similar experience?

TL;DR what the title says

so i started using compound cream a couple months ago before even having my labs cause my doc said it was safe. he insists it's safe to do TRT even with normal T levels, so i'm not worried about that. the T cream, however, didn't work for me. maybe it could've increaced my levels, sure, but my main complaint was low libido and, for that, the cream did nothing.

but i finally do have my labs back and i'm socked to see everything is within normal range (i did do these labs after using the cream for about a month). i was sure it was gonna be super low because my libido has been non-existent for years now, but nope.

my DHT levels are 125.04 pg/ml, free testosterone is 0.47 ng/dL and total testosterone is 40,54 ng/dL, so perfectly within range (i'm 28, no PCOS or other related issues).

my doc prescribed injections next, which i'm really looking forward to see how that'll work, as i have no idea what else to do about my libido.

so for those of you who have normal levels but still do TRT, what changes/benefits do you get from it?
