This is a good deal right?

They are in the town I live in and I am willing to pick them up. I really want a 2-stroke LAWN-BOY besides my 1999 model 10323 Silver Series. So is this a good deal?

I figured out part of the problem but my 1971 Briggs & Stratton still dies after 10-30 minutes of running.

Images are of engine just so you know what it looks like. So I remembered that there was a peice of air filter from the old air filter casing the carb came off of in the carb and I couldnt remove it without the peice of foam just disintegrating (the air filter thats on it is the one from the original carb). So I put seafoam in the tank and that helped it run for 10-30 minutes instead of 10 seconds. I put gas directly in the carb (it doesnt have a primer bulb and I dont want to pull on it 10 times) and then it starts again. Yes by this time it has cooled because it is scorching hot so I cant really touch it. Under the shroud isnt too rusty. So what the heck is goin on here. I dont really want to buy parts for it but if I have to then I will.

Why does my 1971 Briggs & Stratton shut off after 10-30 minutes of running?

The images are of the motor. What could be causing this to happen? I dont care about originality due to the fact this mower is a frankenstein already due to the fact nearly everything has been replaced at some point in time. I just put a "new" magneto on it 2-4 years ago (I say new but it was from another mower I parted out).

Edit: I think its the partly the carb due to the fact that I put gas down the carb and it runs and I also put SeaFoam in the tank and that helped a lot. Plus I probably should have said this originally but there was a peice of the old rotten air filter that was that carb (I used the air filter and the air filter casing that was on the old carb). Could that peice of air filter be repeatedly clogging the carb causing it to shut off or is it this and a something else?

CSX coal train in White Sulpher Springs West Virgnia

I am not sure if they are empties or loaded. Just thought to record because I heard it while taking a picture of White Sulpher Springs station/depot.

edit:grain not coal.

Railroad stations, diesel locomotives, and a caboose in West Virginia ( a US state not western Virginia).

In order is Glen Morgan station/depot (now a lonely CSXT Office), Bluefield station/depot (I dont have an idea what Norfolk Southern does with it), Oakvale station/depot (now in a much needed state of restoration), a Norfolk & Western caboose in Oakvale, Alderson station/depot (still in use by Amtrak), Lewisburg station/depot (moved to this location and restored after it was bought by a local couple), North Caldwell station/depot (now used as a warehouse I think), White Sulpher Springs station/depot, Durbin & Greenbrier Valley RailRoad #5 (it was formerly Chesapeke & Ohio #8304, a Durbin & Greenbrier Valley RailRoad switcher/shunter nicknamed "Little Leroy", Durbin station/depot (still in use by the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley RailRoad), and Thomas station/depot (just a empty building on the outskirts of town. A sad sight but time trudges on and sadly this division of the Western Maryland was abandoned by Chessie System).

More railroad stations, churches, a courthouse, and The Greenbrier Hotel & Resort.

In order is The Greenbrier Hotel & Resort (felt a little too fancy for me to be there), Alderson Station, Mt.Zion Missonary Baptist Church (Ronceverte), Lewisburg Station (shoutout to the fellow r/WestVirginia user who told me where it is), North Caldwell station, White Sulpher Springs Station, Wild Meadows Baptist Church, Durbin & Greenbrier Valley RailRoad #5, Durbin & Greenbrier Valley RailRoad shunter/switcher named "Little Leroy", Durbin Station, Thomas Station, and Jennings Randolph Federal Courthouse (Elkins). I want to give a huge shoutout to all the gift shop employees at the state parks & The Greenbrier Hotel & Resort. Plus everybody else I have talked to during this trip. West Virginians are very freindly despite our stereotype of everyone being drunk rednecks with lifted pickup trucks who dont like anyone stepping within 3 miles of their property.

More railroad stations, churches, waterfalls, a courthouse, a caboose, and a West Virginia sunset.

In order is the Robert C Bryd Federal Courthouse in Beckley, Mt.Zion Baptist Church (Beckley), Glen Morgan depot, Mt.Zion Baptist Church (Bluefield), Bluefield depot, Oakvale depot, a Norfolk & Western caboose, Brush Creek Falls, Pipestem Falls, a beautiful sunset at the Almost Heaven Swing at Pipestem State Park, and The Greater Mt.Zion Pentecostal Church (Bluefield).

Which mowers do you prefer? The Briggs & Stratton 3.5hp flatheads or the 2-stroke LAWN-BOYs.

Do you prefer the Briggs & Stratton 3.5hp flatheads with the metal shrouds. They are not plauged with the same sluggish speeds, reliability issues, and hard to work on. No these were the days when all you need is a 1/2 inch and a 3/8 wrench/socket to take the whole motor apart. Heck give a seven year old that knows nothing about one (with no phone) a wrench and they can figure out how to disassemble one in 2-4 hours. Then they could figure out how to put it back together in 3-5 hours. Then the reliability is amazing. I have one that was left outside in the rain and snow for 10-20 years (I did not leave it outside the former owner did) (it also didnt run for that whole time) and it still runs like it was just ran last yesterday. Cant say the same for a new Briggs & Stratton. Or do you prefer the old LAWN-BOY 2-strokes? It is harder to work on yes but thats if you need to work on it. It is reliable enough to do it then you might have done something wrong. Besides you dont need to check the oil levels because its a 2-stroke and doesnt use motor oil (the oil is mixed into the gas). The thing is LAWN-BOY had unreliable tanks (stress cracks which mine has) and the throttle cables were unreliable. But who needs throttle cables and who cares if the tank leaks. It will still outlast you. But hey both are from a by gone era when there was no Kohler and the company actually wanted cared about their customers and didnt make the product break after 2-6 years and wanted to make them outlast you, your kids, and your grandkids. I prefer my older mowers over the newer mowers. IF WANT YOUR MOWERS TO LAST MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING ETHANOL FREE GAS. ETHANOL EATS AT THE CARB AND PISTON.

This isnt the right gas cap right?

Its a LAWN-BOY model 10323. Beautiful mower. Runs great. I am just curious if that gas cap belongs on this mower. It doesnt say anything about mixing gas despite it being a 2-stroke. Every other one I have seen online has diffrent gas cap. So is this gas cap OEM or some aftermarket part?

More churches in our state.

In order is Faith Baptist Church (Doddridge county), Crimson River Baptist Church (Doddridge county), and Mt.Zion Community Church (Harrison county). I know I aint been the most active this summer but Monday and Tuesday I will be across the state again quite literally all the way from Wood county to Princeton. Then stay the night somewhere (I know where I want to stay I am just not sayin where for because I prefer to stay anonymous) then to Tucker county then back home to Wood county. Yes both days will hold all topics I photograph (churches, courthouses, waterfalls, and railroad stations). So yeah if you enjoy my pictures tune in Monday and Tuesday for everything.

A closer look at some of my mower collection.

The first one is my 1999 LAWN-BOY Silver Series (model 10323) with a 6.5hp Duraforce 2-stroke engine. She purrs like a kitten but works like a mule. It unfortunately was one of the last in house built LAWN-BOYs though. The tape is because the primer bulb broke and I havent put the new one on yet. The 2nd one is my frankenstein with a 1955 LAWN-BOY 8FE20 deck and 1971 Briggs & Stratton flathead. It roars like a dinosaur and It smells like burnt oil but dang it cuts grass good. The reason it smells like burnt oil is the same reason I named it "Greasy" every component of the thing is coated in grease. I like it. A list of parts that have been replaced, is all four wheels, muffler, carb, tank, handlebars, and throttle spring. The last one is a 2005 John Deere GX345 that I was given due to the crankshaft seal being bad. I replaced the crankshaft seal, time delay module, put a random bolt in the deck engage switch, almost every gasket except the head gasket, fixed the hood on, and replaced a ignition coil and yet it still misses and jumps between 2 cylinders and one cylinder. It is air cooled and has power steering though.

Are there any LAWN-BOY 8FE20's left?

I was just want to know if anyone has one or knows of ones existence or if they were all scrapped/thrown away. I have the deck from one but the motor gave out and the previous owner put a Briggs & Stratton on it. So I do know there is at least a 8FE20 deck left.

My mower collection.

The first one is a 5-6 year old snapper with a Briggs & Stratton on it. I hate it. It does not cut grass like my old Briggs & Stratton, the front wheel drive doesnt pull good, and the it cant mow grass taller than that in an HOA. The 2nd one is my beloved 1999 Lawnboy Silver Series. It is a beautiful beast of a mower. Whoever the guy that said they should make the motors 6.5hp is a genius. The self propel system works great, it can cut grass so tall its a hayfeild, and because Lawnboy amde them 2 cycles I dont have to check the oil. The only things wrong with it are the tank leaks a little (if I leave it sit for a week the tank is bone dry) and the throttle cable dont work (its ziptied to the bottom of the handlebars) but I adjusted it to full throttle 24/7 and it seems happy. I do run the mixture a little rich 50:1 instead of 32:1 due to my Stihl equipment using 50:1 and thus what I mix (plus the tank leaks so why should I waste money on mixing gas specially for it?). The third one is a frankenstein mower. It has a Briggs & Stratton flathead built on November 2nd 1971 and a 1955 lawnboy 8FE20 deck (is there even a single 8FE20 with the original electric motor out there). I have replaced all 4 wheels at some point, replaced the muffler, carb, gas tank, throttle spring, handlebars, oil cap, magneto. It has parts from 5-7 diffrent mowers on it hence why I call it a frankenstein. I nicknamed it "Greasy" because the deck and motor are coated in grease where the carb diaphragm went bad. The motor runs so fast it could also cut a hayfeild. Does anyone have any idea why the kill switch dont work (when I built the rear tank bolt on it activates it)? It is my 2nd favorite mower in my collection. The final one is a 2007 Briggs & Stratton L-head with a (I do not know the year but I guess a 1981-1982) Lawnboy R7268 deck. I have nothing to say I dont care for it. It cuts ok, it has no mechanical issues it is just a very mediocre mower. The red one in the background is messed up bad someone hit a stump with it abd broke the back axle and bent the shaft. It is a 2017 Troy-Bilt. If its not obvious the newer the mower the less I care for it. The reason I hate the newer mowers is they are lacking in the power department, they are unreliable, and they are very annoying to work on. The old Briggs & Strattons on the other hand are reliable, lacking power but mke up for it with how fast they run (theres a reason I wear ear plugs with them its because they sound like dinosaur roarin), and they are just so easy to work on all you have to do to take the tank off for example is just take 2 bolts out.

A tiny church in yall's state.

It is The Healing Chapel "Ohio's smallest church". As my name implies I am the same person that took a picture of every federal and county courthouse in your neighbor state West Virginia. Note:I will not be doing churches or much more in Ohio than this church. check out r/westvirginia.

Churches and Railroad stations across the state.

In order is Valley Chapel (Lewis county), Mingo Presbyterian Church (Pocahontas county), Mingo Run Church (Pocahontas county), Cass depot (still a active station for the Cass Scenic Railroad), Richwood depot (a visitors center now), Allingdale (unfortunately will probably be left to collapse if not saved within the next few years), Cowen depot (under restoration still), Webster Springs depot (a small freight depot not so glamorous or remembered as the passenger depots), Orndoff Church, Weston city police car, Weston depot (now a municipal building), Lost Creek (I dont know anything about it), Gods Glory Church (Plesants county), Pike Church Of God (Pleasants county), and Nine Mile United Methodist Church (Pleasants county).

Stihl FS 40C wont start.

I own three Stihl weedeaters and this is one of them. I was using it today when I hit the head on the ground to release more string as usual then it started smoking from the exhaust and died. Now it wont start again. Luckily I have multiple weedeaters so I got it done with my Stihl FS 56RC. I would like to know what is wrong with my FS 40C though.

So any more in our beautiful state?

My game wont work. FS19.

It loads then it loads me into my save and the game is darker than my brightness settings like it is about to load but doesnt. Then when it does load I spend 10-20 seconds in the save then it freezes and gets stuck on my laptop screen. My laptop processes the game perfectly fine. I play on a hp laptop. I do use mods I have about 50.

The last post of my journey to photograph all the churches in our Wirt county.

In order is Antioch Baptist Church (ignore the circle by the door I put that there in editing to cover up his face), Shiloh Baptist Church, Calvary Apostolic Church, St.Elizabeth Of Hungary Catholic Church, Southern Baptist Fellowship, and Creston Church. I saw a lot more people at the churches in Wirt county although I attribute that to being memorial day weekend. Pleasants county will be coming this summer. With Antioch Baptist Church the woman in the picture is the unofficial caretaker of the church huge thanks to her for unlocking the door so I could get the picture of the interior. If anyone would be willing to help Antioch Baptist Church is not active anymore but needs a beam on the back replaced or the church wont be around much longer.
