What’s an effective tool that has saved you a bunch of time posting content to social media?

Hey guys, hope you are enjoying your weekend. I’m not someone who has a ton of experience with social media advertising. I don’t have an account on every platform (yet), nor do I have a ton of followers on the platforms I am a part of. I’m looking to start the content creation for my own advertisement journey, and I’d like to preserve my sanity as much as possible. Personally I find social media annoying and saturated with garbage, but at the same time I understand its importance.

With that said I’m wondering if there are any tools/apps/sites/etc.. that have made your life much easier because you use it. Maybe it’s notebooksLM for content creation and canvas for polish? Maybe there is some tool you use that helps schedule posts and automates cross posting?

Also maybe there are some important lessons you learned about non negotiables that need to be included for content on specific platforms like keywords, hashtags, etc… maybe there are some things you learned you should never include in your content on certain platforms?

I know that’s a lot but I feel like this could be some really useful information we could aggregate in the comments.

Pricing and discount question

Hello I was wondering what, in your guys experience, is the best route to go.

(Scenario) Lets say you have a B2C subscription based website or app that is worth about $9.99/mo and ~$75/yr, and you want to offer some sort of discount options to new users.

(Question1) Is it a better strategy to:

1. show the original price marked out with the discounted price as the default option (ex. $9.99 NOW $7.99). And if so, do you go with NOW, or Founder Price?
2. (or) keep the $9.99 price and retain the flexibility of offering promo/discount codes? And if this option is best then do you place the promo code right above the pricing section or modal of the landing page, or only distribute promos through marketing (keeping it off the landing page)?

(Question2) Do you offer the same discount % on the annual plan or leave that alone?

My thoughts are that aesthetically option 1 looks more appealing and reduces friction. But option 2 is appealing because you can retain flexibility of margin to work with, and then utilize the promo codes for third party marketing and in house organic marketing.

I appreciate any advice you could give me, and any additional info on this type of thing or lessons you have learned from experience would be terrific. Thanks and have a great day!

***And I’m sure many of you will say things like no one wants your AI slop, everything should be free, etc… But I’m really just looking for honest opinions and advice regarding the actual question. Thank you.

Needing advice for an unconventional website

(Sorry for the long post, feel free to skip to the questions at the end)

Hello fellow solopreneurs. I’ve been building my site for a while now and I’ve been learning a lot from you guys. Don’t worry I’m not going to promote it here.

I’m getting to the final weeks before my launch and I’ve been learning as much as I can about the right ways to optimize for seo, landing page, organic outreach, etc… My marketing research hasn’t been 100% optimal. I haven’t been reading tons of books or taken marketing classes like most of the gurus out there. If I’m being honest I’ve mainly just been learning from YouTube videos, digestible online resources, Reddit and from some friends.

It seems like almost everyone has the same type of advice, so I’m assuming there is most likely a truth to what’s being said. Some things would be (in no particular order):

  1. Build in public
  2. Don’t wait til launch to create interest
  3. Collect emails early
  4. Target niches
  5. Concentrate on solving one problem
  6. Don’t overbuild (too many features = bad)
  7. Start w/ slow organic growth before paying for ads

This is just a few things that seem pretty universally endorsed.

The thing is that I’ve been building my site for so long I’m getting a little overwhelmed trying to reset my brain from builder/user mode to marketer mode. I don’t want to get burnt out (already have an intense job and 3 kids) but at the same time I don’t want to take a break and lose motivation.

This thing started out as a build for myself. I wanted to stay organized so I built out organizer tools. I wanted to track my health so I built health trackers. I wanted to learn meditation and stick with it without feeling overwhelmed by endless options. I wanted to learn about the lives of historical and religious figures, so I had the ai create genuinely interesting content in a style that I actually enjoy learning in. I enjoy building brain games and playing them so I made my own. I love cooking to I made a huge collection of cookbooks. I’m weird and don’t like sticking to one diet so I made a library of diets that I jump around from one to the next. It’s so much content so I made it easy for myself to save what I wanted to. After gpt4o was deprecated I felt emotionally disconnected from the new llms that all seemed academic and safeguarded, so I fine tuned my own. Some time ago I also became pretty sick and tired of so many sites looking and operating the same way as clones or derivatives of ones that already work. So I designed everything myself to look completely different than anything I’ve ever seen before (mainly peaceful and whimsical).

Reading through that probably makes this sound like a terrible Ad but it’s not, the purpose of listing all of that is to show you why I made my site so robust. Because it was for my own interest. That being said I have been enjoying using my site so much (I genuinely feel more knowledgable, productive and zen), that I decided a few months ago to build it to be publically available. To give context I started building the site 2.5 years ago, and I have been a user of it for over a year.

So circling back to the point of this post… This site is so unconventional. It’s not by any means built how a proper product should be according to the advice I have heard. I didn’t do any of the things I listed. It’s not niche, it’s very general purpose, I didn’t do any public building or try to plant seeds or gain emails.

But I don’t really care if I’m being honest. Not in arrogant way, but in the sense that, even if no one wants to use it I’m content in knowing that I will be able to continue using it. My biggest motivation in making it publicly available is knowing that if someone else out there can find half as much value in my product as I do I know that it will be a great benefit to them. It’s really mentally calming knowing you are on a site that isn’t addictive, has no notifications, no corporate shenanigans, no ads or commodities being pushed, etc…

I’m sure most of you are thinking I need to narrow it down into the best, homogenous targeted features, and ship that, but I don’t want to do that. I’ve devoted too much time connecting everything into a cohesive ecosystem. I also don’t like how slimy advertising is and how much astroturfing is often masked behind some b.s. I’m thinking I’m going to make creative videos that contain some of the content I’ve already made, and make additional ones for short videos as part of my marketing but I’m really not sure exactly what else I’m going to do.

——
(The questions)

My questions are:
Is there anyone out there that went against the grain?

Did anyone build something they personally found valuable and later decided to make it public in a successful way?

Did anyone build something not niche but for a broad audience and find success in their marketing?

Any genuine advice from someone who’s been through this path before and made it to the light at the other end of the tunnel?

I appreciate your time and your honest feedback. One love ❤️

Motivational support and accountability

Hello everyone, this is probably my favorite community on reddit. My true passion is spiritual growth. I feel that its really lacking in todays world and any small impact we can have to enlighten others will create a ripple of change that pays dividends in the end.

I have 3 kids, a wife, older parents to support, and many others who count on me everyday. I work two jobs that are super intense, and I devote all of my free time outside of family and volunteering into a side project that I'm delusionally hoping will one day change the lives of many ppl for the better. Its been 2+ years now since I gave my life to the creator (I study and practice all religions). I truly feel I was sent on this path to create my product for the world. I know that sounds very narcissistic but I ensure you its 95% altruistic.

My issue is that I am pushing myself so hard I am barely dodging burnout. I try my best to give myself time but I dont want to lose the motivation to keep going. I know there are many others out there trying to accomplish similar things, whether it be at a personal, local, regional or global level. I would love to connect with you guys and find some people who I can count on to talk to here and there for motivation, idea bouncing, check-ins, perspective sharing, etc... If you'd be interested in something like that let me know. Not looking to create a subreddit or discord or anything like that, just some simple back and forth DM's. Thanks for your time, sorry if I offended someone with this post somehow, remove if not permitted. Have a great day everyone!

Removing fuzzy/staticky sounds from instrumentals.

Hello there, I am a hobbyist pianist and guitar player. I love recording my music and having suno turn it into something that sounds fuller and more complete. However I notice that usually when I use live instrument audio recordings, there is almost always a fuzzy/staticky sound that surrounds the music and constantly goes in and out. Sometimes bearable, sometimes insufferable. I dont have any experience with sound production so I am looking for advice. I was thinking possibly throwing it into an audio editor and toning down the EQ notches to lessen the peaks, but wasnt sure if there is a better way to do this? Maybe there is a feature on a free audio editor that automatically deciphers the static/fuzz and eliminates it in one shot? I appreciate anyone who has experience doing this regularly and has a bulletproof system they use to tackle this problem. Thanks.

Websites vs apps

Hello everyone, I am currently building a website. I really enjoy the flexibility of being able to create what I want and make real time changes without third party approval. However, advertising wise I am concerned that it will be an intense uphill battle to market a website rather than an app.

My goal is to eventually create a PWA for my site and maybe down the road trying to get an iOS approved app and of course an android app. But like I said right now the flexibility of a website is very low anxiety, which I already have plenty of.

My question is, for those of you who created a successful website (especially B2C) that did not have an iOS or android app, can you tell me about your experience and possibly share some advice from important things you’ve learned along the way?

I appreciate the advice, I don’t want to market my site here but it’s a total health and wellness ecosystem B2C (no not just calorie counter tools) just for your info.

Visualizing near death experiences.

Hello something I have been thinking of here and there for several years is that feeling or thought you might have when you are visualizing potential near death scenarios that could take place. For example, when you are about to pull out from a parking lot and you suddenly notice a huge truck shoot in front of you and you slam on the breaks.

Often in those moments I think deeply about what could have happened. I usually reflect in gratitude initially, but then I usually get lost in a final destination mindset where I try to embrace how it would feel to get hit by that truck.

Sometimes that thought experiment feels like just that, and sometimes it feels more like a memory. I sometimes get an eerie feeling that it has happened before, not in remembering similar experiences, but in a true memory of a life that actually experienced the crash and possibly the death.

Its these types of things that make me wonder how connected we might be to parallel universes. Or if we live in a block universe of infinite possibilities that all occur, but we only experience one series of blocks per life. Maybe something else even more strange?

IDK it just really makes me wonder, and I am curious if anyone feels similar during these moments? Im really curious what you guys think about this.

Hey guys, I am just finishing my website and I am currently working on my landing page. I am feeling conflicted because one part of me wants to utilize proven information, and another part of me (probably a larger part) wants to create something entirely novel that doesn't look like anything else. IMO AI is really good at pumping out generic landing pages, but I have noticed that a lot of the newer apps' landing pages are starting to look so similar (probably because of that).

My site is primarily health and wellness based, but it has a lot of features (I know I know... but I am kind of an against the grain individual). I have tried my best to tie everything together to create a cohesive ecosystem and I am extremely happy with what it has become.

One of the issues is that with so many features it makes it difficult to choose which ones to highlight. I am thinking of highlighting the categories (productivity, health tracking, spiritual health, mental health and physical health) instead of the specific features, but I still want to convey the concept right away, which is difficult to do without showing the actual features (because the categories are generic but the features make them unique). I decided to create a demo which looks exactly like my website. It has a limited amount of content but I feel like it gets the point across. My user input features are pre-filled and my AI features have mock setups where the user can click through as they would normally, but don't actually enter real data.

The site is subscription based, and I am wondering if you guys could mention some of your favorite landing pages you've come across. If you have created your own landing page and are super proud of how unique it is, and don't mind sharing it, I'd love to take a look. Or if you guys could simply mention different things you've tried but didn't work too well, but then pivoted into something else that had better success.

Some things I assume about what makes a good landing page are:

  1. Attention grabbing hero (most ppl bounce after the first few seconds)

  2. Explaining the problem and why the product is a solution.

  3. Laying out the features without overwhelming the visitor.

  4. Clear CTA's with intuitive navigation.

  5. Straight forward pricing.

I really appreciate any insight into what makes a good landing page. I'm not looking to replicate anything, I just want to explore ideas and figure out what's working for others and what I should avoid.
