I really want to go on T, but I’m afraid of it negatively impacting my ability to have children. I know that you can still get pregnant after years of T, but I’ve also heard that it can have highly variable effects depending on the individual. Another factor is my parents - long story short I was outed and they took it surprisingly well; however, they’re extremely against me going on T because they’re afraid I might lose the ability to have children and regret it… they’ve told me that I should “think about it for a couple of years” and that the only way they’ll feel assured with me taking T is if I ensure I can still have kids, aka go through egg freezing. While I’m technically an adult and could start it regardless, my family is still really important to me, and the fact that they’re accepting of my identity is already leaps and bounds beyond what I initially expected. So because of this I’m seriously considering egg freezing, just in case I might want children and so I can take T without giving my parents a heart attack, but it’s also an incredibly expensive and invasive procedure…

What are y’all’s experience with HRT and fertility? For people who considered doing egg freezing what did you choose and why? How was the process of egg freezing like?
