Kept thinking about this a lot lately.

I find it funny that after trying different browsers by constantly browser hopping for years I eventually landed on Chrome Beta as my chosen default browser on windows 10, lol. I find it funny because it's the exact type of browser I was looking for with just enough tweaking means it'll keep working as intended as long as you don't treat it as your 'personal playground' of sorts and mostly want a decent browser that excels at one task, being a solid browser, and nothing more. I also only installed 4 extensions that don't overlap because they handle specific work arounds that add more compatibility layers that some extensions quietly filled in the gaps sort of speak.

I tried it on mobile and it wasn't really worth it, lol. However, as a desktop browser? Everything lands. Was amazed that sync simply worked out of the box with no fuzz which allowed me to get back to more important things. I always made fun of power user friends who would say stuff like "I just use chrome and don't think about it much" And after years of not understanding the nuance they were trying to compress, I now handle the same way, haha. I guess I'm kinda curious to find out if this specific community messes around with beta, canary, dev, or sticks to stable because that's the one everybody uses? No actual shade if you do, just curious about different perspectives and how they land and click for you regardless if it's the approved 'lane' everybody decides to stick to or later change their mind because of a 'different type of workflow' sort of speak? I have my reasons for sticking to chrome beta however I know everybody won't think the same way I do. I just enjoy the fact that for the most part beta consistently works, and when I don't need to use it gets out of the way just as quickly. I think that's how I view browsers now more in the can it do more with less, angle, lol. | it's nice that chrome beta feels much more 'paradoxically stable' than stable Chrome. I'm really glad I decided to just stick to this browser.

This was a pivotal moment for me and I'm glad I had that talk with my closest friend. Wasn't easy but sometimes you just have to do it.

Something happened to me some nights ago with my closest friend, one I've had for some time now but after being pro Israel and fully embracing my Jewish side as a Sephardic Jew he suddenly became 'surprised' that I had become 'Pro Israel' and that he would still be my friend as long as I was being a 'good human being'? Which kinda confused me because that sounded to me like another flavor of quiet 'Antisemitism' without saying it out loud. It just didn't sit well with me and I wasn't gonna apologize for being who I am so I decided to just cut ties with him. Sure I worded it like "maybe our friendship needs a breather so you can think about it" but I more or less decided to just 'not' be friends with somebody who wasn't genuinely supporting me and making it more like an 'issue'. When it shouldn't. Have you had to go through something like this lately? Curious about how y'all have handled it.

I think I was being mature about the situation because I even tried to explain his misconceptions but it just didn't land because he mostly went back to 'well you do you buddy, you can still be my friend' like a 'permission' i never asked for. Once I began to notice the red flags that more or less felt like 'friendly anti-semitism it simply didn't sit well with me. Which kinda bummed me out even more. Sure I could've fought for that long time friendship but why if this would constantly be a 'an issue' that was okay to 'hide under a rug'. I feel both happy and sad. Happy because I feel 'free' for just being myself, but sad because I kinda lost a friend in a way. But that's life. Just venting about stuff I've been dealing with lately. There were a lot of things going in my mind. edit: my friend just called me and said 'i don't wanna stop being your friend, just don't become a zionist extremist' which further confused me, lmao. what does that even mean? | thank you for all your replies, I finally got my friend back out of talking about it and trying to understand each other better. We've been friends for years and it would devastating to loose somebody that's almost like 'a family member'. So after reading all your replies I was able to really think about it which helped, immensely. :)

My experience using Helium for the last couple of weeks,

I've always been somewhat specific when it came to browsers in the sense that I'd rather have a 'functionally, kinda quiet, little toaster that is good at doing one thing well like say providing damn good slice of toast every morning' than say 'a full fledged war-tank that can do everything and nothing.' It's a strange analogy, I know. But I think that's why I like Helium.

I even like that the main search engine is Duck Duck Go, and works in perfect tandem with their optimized UBO that comes pre-installed out of the box. I barely had to get more extensions mostly proton vpnn and say bonjourr (minimalist new tab page). Just awesome that it isn't trying to pretend to do a whole lot but when it does it it can be efficient at simply being a good browser. I didn't know how to feel about making it my default browser, however, it proved that it could be that and more. Glad I finally gave it a chance.

Not that deep of a post or whatever, just me realizing how much I like Helium overall. I also enjoy using 'chrome colors theme: classic blue' because it just fits the overall vibe of the classic hellium look imo.

Soda Stereo - En La Ciudad De La Furia ( Jamm1989 vaporwave)

A while back, back in high school, somewhere near Tijuana, my best friend and I were making fun of how easy it was to create your own vaporwave aesthetic with Audacity and a good ear for sounds from bygone eras, haha. And while we were testing it out, we eventually came up with the joke of using his Wi-Fi password as a pseudonym for a Tijuana vaporwave artist. Honestly, it started as a joke, but this parody is really well done, and I wanted to share this gem that began as a local meme, nothing more, nothing less. And then, since my buddy liked graphic design, he also designed the album art himself, haha. It was our type of humor back in the day, and kinda still is. When there's passion, even a silly meme blossoms. :)

Just sharing my personal setup

I try to keep it as simple as possible, but I always return to this theme. The theme is called OLED - TRUEBLACK Orange. And honestly? It's beautiful. I try to not add too many extensions either mostly just unhook youtube because the native adblocker/tracker blocker plus proton vpn work remarkably well in tandem. Don't wanna really over clutter this browser with too many extensions for the same reason. Long time user, even love the mobile version too.

most controversial take?

I use opera air as my default browser because out of the box it performs really well even with the extra vpn, tracker blocker and ad blocker settings it keeps on running somewhat smoothly? I like how lean & mean it often looks. Almost as if everything has an internal logic of just wanting a browser that gets the job done, then gets out of the way when you don't need it anymore. Which other browser do you like to use for the same reason? Not really because of 'brand loyalty' but because it works incredibly well for a specific type of workflow? Kinda was curious to hear your different takes on the matter. My point is that I often prefer a browser that can be straight forward while offering a stack of features you actually need on a day to day basis. Meanwhile opera's other ip's are kinda just endless feature creep that kinda drives me nuts, lol. I remember using the old old opera which is why I became kinda 'emotionally attached to it' as well. But that's just me. It ain't terrible, it ain't damn good either, it sits somewhere in a sensible middle for me.

my experience using waterfox for the first time

I went browser hopping several weeks ago from the well known browsers all the way down to the niche ones and what I found funny is that I'm the type of 'power user' that mostly uses the browser that just works and gets the job done it's not really about 'brand loyalty' or anything like that so I was like why not give waterfox a go and see how it feels as a default browser? which is what I did for several months. And I think what I like about it the most is that when you have a working mozilla account and you actually rely on the sync feature it works on desktop, and on mobile too. Which means you never have to go through the motions of remembering every single login credential you kept using on a day to day basis. and since I recently migrated from 10 to 11 I got curious about how well it would perform on this new setup and wow it ran smoothly without a fuzz, barely a hiccup. Most modern browsers eventually start asking for way too many slices from your RAM cake so I'm glad that didn't seemed to be the case with this browser. So I think for now I'll continue to test it out as a daily driver and see if I continue to use it or not but so far? it's working! | quick update: while I often don't trust mobile browsers because they tend to feel 'unfinished' at the very least firefox extensions on mobile work which means ublock origin works on youtube too. So now waterfox is my default browser too. granted not all firefox extensions work on waterfox but the ones compatible? make the mobile browsing much more enjoyable. I'll have to wait and see if they continue to work on it if they have the infrastructure for something like a mobile browser because it's already a lot to have to juggle between the two instead of focusing on an already solid browser like waterfox on desktop, just my 2 cents.

I remember years ago I was a big fan of music bee

then today in the morning I was like wait why not just install it again? and damn I'm glad I did. My current theme is just darkLIME and it's nice and subtle, especially when you highlight a specific track. I forgot it just knew how to handle large collection of flacs too so that was nice. Everything worked out of the box, and didn't have to stress about it.

ah it's nice to be back to zen like chaos once again

finally installed this bad boy on windows 11 and it runs great both on windowed mode and full screen

went back to windows 10 but had to find a specific frutiger aero type of wallpaper because of this cool sub!

title says it all I think it looks rather nice, minimalistic but purely functional :)

made my website to look like a text-based web novel

was a learning process, however I tried to learn as much as I could on my own meaning I wanted the site to be able to be fully optimized as a mobile first type of reading material where you could easily vertical scroll across chapters that began small but eventually escalated like say a strange shopping list where every component from said shopping list became stranger and stranger. even the blurb itself is meant to work like the pitch for something like an interesting art house movie that used alice in wonderland type of dream logic and baudelaire's beautifully grotesque type of stuff. anyway if you would like to give it a go, this is the link. i'm actually very proud of how consistent i was being because it felt like i was a modern day henry darger or something lol RAIN ON COLT STREET. Again, was mostly writing it as a personal hobby of mine, but was like, what the heck, I should just share it with the world anyways. Not even done with it yet, I've been trying to continue to update the site whenever I feel like it! I'd appreciate the feedback. :)

wanted a less is more type of environment this time around!

just ignore the somewhat busy taskbar, lol, but this was my first attempt at a somewhat minimal dekstop, and idk I kinda like it? was just curious how y'all felt about it overall. didn't want to fill it with rainmeter or whatever just the essentials.
