Looking for hidden gem camping/campgrounds in NE California, Eastern Oregon, SW Idaho and Northern Nevada. Established campgrounds preferred with toilets/picnic tables/ect.

Every year I hit national parks and the "hot spots". This year looking for hidden gems on some roads I haven't hit. Thinking about 395 Tahoe/Reno North up into Burns/John Day Fossil Beds area. Up into Walla Whitman NF and thru Western Idaho down into Ruby Valley outside of Wells/Elko in Nevada. Whatcha got for me reddit?!

I've done 97 Oregon - Klamath - Crater Laker - Bend - The Dalles

I've done 93 eastern Nevada - Great Basin - Cathedral Gorge - to Twin Falls - Craters of the moon - Sun Valley and up

I've done all of 395 between Victorville and Bridgeport

Looking for cool stuff in between those routes!

Item not received: Buyer sent me one of these this morning. Tracking thru ebay shows item was delivered on Monday. Buyer said he checked his PO box monday and tuesday and it wasn't there. I responded with the address it was sent to, the tracking number showing it was delivered and a screenshot.

Do I now wait 72 hours for the buyer to respond .... or do I have ebay give me a call and I submit the tracking number showing it was delivered?

Buyer also said in Spanish (had to google translate): I check monday and tuesday because it said it was delivered but its not there. This has happened before with this po box.

Sold over 400 items --- this is a first for me.

Happy Birthday to Sir Paul McCartney (Back to the Egg is his best work! Discuss amongst yourselves!)

84 years young and still rocking!

Which beatle has the best solo career. For awhile I was in the John group… but as times gone on, his stuff is just a little to depressing. Seems like Paul always kept his optimism. Georges stuff is in its own world and for some reason don’t associate it with being a beatle.

Anyone know how to make speaker grilles like this? I have to wait for approval on DIYaudio - but maybe the poster is on here too! What are those black things holding the slats? Are these kits?

Wanted to make something like this for my big Altecs since the OG 70's plastic grill is no more!

Speaker feet for 150lb massive speaker - (I had the post where I thrifted McIntosh ML-2C's). Heavy gauge rubber guitar cabinet feet? Or say screw it and mount 4 hocky pucks on the corners? Or no feet and let it sit straight on tile floor?

Whatcha all think?

Posting for future Marantz PM550dc owners & techs. Amp powered on but very weak sound to 1 speaker and nothing to the other. Culprit - 8 resistors - 4 (120 ohm) 4 (330 ohm). Posting pics of schematic and parts highlighted to make your life easier. Also replaced the 1a 250v fuses.

I had a hard time finding ANYTHING on this amp --- So I hope this helps people going into the future. Drop me a line if it helps!

Usually people say recap - its gotta be the main powerboard - but found a post on FB from 4 years ago and a guy in New Zealand solved it. So posting here so you don't have to go searching.

Anybody have a list of MODERN components stocked on mouser/digikey that corresponds to the caps/resistors in a Yamaha CR-420. I just don't want to have to look them up one by one and add to cart. Would be much easier with a "key" to do it quickly.

I know one of these exists - but I have been googling the past 30 minutes and can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Dilemma: Currently using Yamaha CR-420 and a Marantz PM550dc as my main 2 receivers. Just purchased a NAD 7175PE for $20 to flip on ebay to pay for some other gear. NAD 7175PE is pristine, guy never used it. Hook it up - Sounds better than both the Yamaha and Marantz! Are my ears deceiving me???

I googled this amp after purchasing it and it seems to be well regarded and liked --- But am I crazy thinking it sounds better than my Yamaha and Marantz?!?! Makes me want to keep it now.

Look at that wood grain that was hiding beneath these cabs!! Can’t wait to get a proper stain on there rather than the veneer it had!

Shaking in my boots right now. Just grabbed at a garage sale! Altec 872a

They look ROUGH and the grills are stained… but my fingers are crossed once I open it up the speakers will look good! But at $40, sometimes you gotta gamble!!!!

Thought I’d share the latest garage sale find.

Grabbed another copy of The Wall as the records were in better shape than the ones I have. I’ve been wanting to grab a complete box set of Concert for Bangladesh for awhile, but all the copies I’ve come across didn’t have the picture booklet - so was excited to see a complete box set in good condition!

Can’t go wrong with the others - introducing the Beatles, Def Leppard, Bob Dylan, and Deep Purple! All fun listens.

I really want to open the McCartney 2 …. But seeing the sell price of a sealed copy will make me keep it as is and just order a 2nd copy off of eBay to listen to!

Hope you all enjoy! And remember —- record day starts at 6am on Saturday mornings!!

Found this bad boy in a barn sale. The guy selling said it was his dad's and had been sitting in there since about 1988-1990ish. The cassette player itself needs to be taken apart and a few things fixed, but the belts are still looking good and all still spin. The only problem is when you hit play, the mechanism snaps into place for 1 second and then snap back 1/4 inch from the cassette and a high pitch sound fills the speakers and the VU's go to max. I took a chopstick to the mechanism and pushed it towards the cassette and the music played just fine but mixed with the high pitch sound.

All the board components - resistors and caps look fine and when taking a multimeter to them also look good.

I'm not really looking for advice on how to fix up as I will put it up for trade to a cassette lover for a receiver or a record player....but just wanted show how the vintage tech holds up and how well it cleans up! LOVE IT!
