I'm Thinking Of Switching Over To Mint Mobile From Visible

I’ve been with Visible for about a year and a half, and my renewal date is coming up on the 24th. I’m seriously considering switching carriers.

I’m on Visible’s top-tier plan, but the service has been pretty disappointing since the beginning of the year. I have an iPhone 16 Pro, and most of the time it's on LTE. I’ll occasionally get 5G or 5G UW, but it only lasts for a short time before dropping back to LTE. I’ve also had issues with weak signal and occasional dropped calls, and slow data speeds

For those of you in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, how has Mint Mobile been? Is the coverage and data speed more reliable than Visible? Have you noticed any issues with congestion or call quality?

Also, if you’ve switched from Visible to Mint, how smooth was the process? Was transferring your number quick and hassle-free?

I’d appreciate any real-world experiences or advice before I make the switch. Thanks!

Mint mobile has been a disaster for me!

I regret the day I ever switched to save some money with this provider. There’s nothing, after experiencing it for a couple months, that I like about this company.

Their customer service is completely awful. And I know alex is going to chime in here on this thread and pretend like they’re going to give me customer service. I wasted like five hours on chat last week to eventually get a case opened because MMS is completely broken on my phone and will not work no matter what I do. They were supposed to fix it on the back end with the engineers. It’s been almost 2 weeks with no fix and no word from anybody. The service is also, let’s be honest, terrible in New York City.

If I had the option to go back in time, I would have never switched to mint.

International

Typically I use Airalo when traveling internationally. Last month I used the Mint Mobile international for Canada and it worked well.

Need service for Japan, Switzerland, Italy, and France.

Has anybody used it in those locations and is it good? I like being able to use my phone traditionally rather than with an eSIM.

Does Mint support Nothing Phone (4a) pro

I was planning on buying a new phone under $500 and wanted to know if Nothing Phone (4a) pro is supported by mint as I could not find anything on the phone compatibility check that mint provides. Also does anyone have other suggestions for android phones under $500 that mint supports.

Issue with 2-Year Plan + Phone Bundle

My parents both bought new phones which came with 2-year plans last year. We have the confirmation info and invoices which show everything that was purchased initially. The first year has now ended, and both parents are being charged full price to renew for the next year. He spent hours on the phone trying to get support last night and now his plan is officially expired and he can't make calls or text. Other people online mentioned getting a code to redeem for the second year or a credit towards the cost. We are stuck and not sure what to do. I'm tempted to have dad pay the bill so that we don't risk him losing his phone number or having his account completely removed. Any ideas?

Unlimited Plan

I used to be on Mint a couple years about. At the time, the Unlimited plan was like 35 GB of high speed data and then hard throttled down to very slow speeds.

I understand that now when you exceed 50 GB (not that I plan to regularly) that it is more of a priority bump down and more dictated by tower congestion.

In other words…I could still get 5G speeds or at least usable data, right?

I appreciate your help!

Why does this title say the phone is "on us" but then only offers $500.

if i told my friends I was "taking them out for dinner on me" and then offered to pay like a 3rd of it when the bill came, they would be pretty confused.

Looking to switch to mintmobile. Current S26 deal is out of stock. Advice about waiting

So I am switching to mint mobile and purchased plans for my parents already went with the A17 and the year deal. I saw they also had the S26 listed for $580 ($400 for phone + $180 for year), but the 256gb is out of stock. They have a notification for when they come back in stock. My question is will it come back in stock before the promo is over? Or should I just get the A17 for myself? I don't think I went to spend the $600 for the S26 with 512gb.

Also if I get the A17 now, will I be disqualified for future yearly specials with the phones?

Unusable roaming service in Canada– Need Port-Out Info & Escalation for Unused Plan Refund

I paid for a 12-month prepaid plan back on May 25, 2026. Due to an urgent family situation, I had to move to Canada shortly after.

Since arriving here, the roaming network service has been entirely unusable. My phone completely loses signal and sits on No Service for most of the day, making it an emergency hazard. I have already tested my SIM card across multiple compatible mobile devices to rule out a hardware issue, and the problem persists on all of them.

Because the service cannot be successfully rendered in my area, I need to port out to a local Canadian carrier immediately to have working cell service.

Can a representative help me get my Account Number and Porting PIN so I can transfer my number? I would also like to formally request an executive review for a prorated refund of the remaining months left on my 12-month plan since the network simply isn't providing a signal here.

u/MintMobileAlex — please let me know if I can DM you my account details to get this sorted out. Thank you!

What is the current Mint Mobile customer service number to speak to a human?

I have the Bobby Bonilla plan and it's my annual having to call Mint to reconnect my service, since they shut it off every year and still don't have a way to keep it active.

Solved: Apple Watch Family Setup + Mint Mobile "Unable to Configure Cellular Plan" workaround

I'm posting this because I couldn't find this documented anywhere after spending about 20 hours with Apple, Mint, and T-Mobile support. If someone finds this six months from now, hopefully it saves them the same frustration.

After spending 20+ hours between Apple, Mint, T-Mobile phone support, and multiple T-Mobile stores, I wanted to post what finally worked in case it saves another parent from the same nightmare.

Goal

  • Parent has Mint Mobile iPhone.
  • Parent is the Apple Family Sharing organizer.
  • Child has a new Apple Watch SE Cellular.
  • Child does NOT have an iPhone.
  • Wanted Family Setup so child could call, text, and share location.

The problem

Every attempt to set up Family Setup from my Mint iPhone failed with: "Unable to Configure Cellular Plan"

Mint support said they don't support Apple Watch.

T-Mobile repeatedly reprovisioned the watch, including manually provisioning the IMEI.

Nothing fixed it.

What didn't work

  • Resetting the watch.
  • Re-pairing.
  • New eSIM.
  • T-Mobile manually provisioning the IMEI.
  • Hours with Tier 2 support.
  • Multiple T-Mobile stores.

What DID work

We borrowed my daughter's grandmother's iPhone (Spectrum Mobile).

  1. Pair the watch to the Spectrum iPhone.
  2. Choose Set Up for a Family Member.
  3. Activate the T-Mobile Standalone Apple Watch plan.
  4. Verify LTE works (calls/texts work independently).
  5. Erase the watch but choose to KEEP the cellular plan.
  6. Pair the watch again using my Mint iPhone.
  7. Complete Family Setup.

After doing this, the watch finally paired to my Mint iPhone while keeping the already-activated T-Mobile standalone cellular plan.

Calls, texts, and LTE continued working.

My theory

This is only a theory, but it appears there are two separate steps:

  1. Installing/activating the Apple Watch eSIM.
  2. Managing an already-provisioned watch.

Mint appears to fail at step 1, but once the standalone plan is already installed, the watch can be managed from the Mint iPhone.

Before you return your watch...

If you're getting: "Unable to Configure Cellular Plan"

and you have:

  • Mint Mobile
  • Apple Watch Family Setup
  • T-Mobile Standalone Watch plan

...try activating the watch on a supported iPhone first, then erase it while keeping the cellular plan, and finally pair it back to your Mint iPhone.

I can't promise it'll work for everyone, but it saved us from returning the watch after days of frustration.

Hope this helps someone.

Trial question

I want to take advantage of this sale that is going on, but I would like to have a trial first to see the service in my area. Does anyone know if I buy the plan, could I cancel if it doesn’t work well?

I bought stupidly the $2 SIM card, not realizing my phone doesn’t have a tray…

TIA!
