So as most of us know, Sega dislikes Tails, and has been infantalizing, nerfing and reducing his character for years on end. He was an Intellectual that was also a very great warrior that could fight either on the ground or in the air, and had taken down an empire all on his own. His strength and skill even allow him to rival the likes of Sonic and Shadow.

Sega has nerfed him from that state, reducing him to a degree that it is a possible chance they make put him on the same status as Cream. A rare appearance character meant to be ‘Cute.’

Yet, Sonic fans defend this and will complain if you don’t like the butchering that Sega is doing. I believe these ‘fans’ should be ignored. They are fake fans, and even if they’re not completely fake, they are those that do not understand who Tails as a person is and only see him as ‘cute.’

Thus, they should be ignored in any discussion about Tails, since they do not know what they speak of.

It our goal as Tails fans to keep people informed of what Tails was, and how he has been butchered by Sega, and mistreated by the writers.

So with the Sonic x Fortnite crossover, Sega has reduced Tails to once more being the ‘Tech Guy’ and thus not him being on the front lines and fighting.

That and they’ve reduced him to an item.

This further proves that not only does Sega not like him, considering the constant nerfs, babyifying him, and also giving him terrible writing.

(Seriously Tails should not be that difficult of a character to write for.)

All of this makes being a Tails fan miserable, considering the lack of respect Sega and the writers give him, and that he isn’t allowed to be a powerful character physically anymore, he can just use tech. (Despite the fact that he could beat both Sonic and Shadow along with others in Sonic battle with just his tails and punches. That and in Sonic Rivals 2, he fought against a Sonic that was controlled by an evil god so he was fighting a Sonic that was trying to kill him. Not only beating him but also breaking him out of control and helping Sonic escape the god.)

I feel like all of this, all these damn issues of Sega not respecting him and babyifying him, come from one aspect.

He’s ‘cute.’ Now I like Tails being cute sometimes, and that sometimes is very important. I do not like him being cute and this innocent kid all the time, because that’s not what he should be.

He should be the powerful all rounder that he is, the one that made an empire crumble all by himself through the use of weaponry and skill. He should be able to go toe to toe with the hardest of hitters and have a good chance of winning through physical strength, intelligence and skill. Able to fight any foe and do well.

But due to Sega’s nerfs, and the babying, he can’t; because Sega won’t allow it and the writers seemingly can’t think around that.

Victories taken away, nerfs and the constant recycling of plots and not being allowed to shine to the same extent as the others.

He’s stuck in an endless cycle, and won’t be able to escape it.
