Advice - before wedding

Do you wash the dress before the wedding?

Mine has been a dress that sat in the store as a last number, altered to my size. I'm sure they didn't wash it before selling it to me or after altering it. I don't know if this is normal or not, but it does smell a little like sweat at the armpits (and doesn't smell like my sweat, so maybe it was from who knows how many/who try it on - store selled new dresses). The thought that it had been tried on before and realizing that it wasn't washed before being sold to me makes me feel a bit bad.

I'm afraid to bring it to the dry cleaner one month before our wedding. Can I wash it softly under the armpits? If so, with what can I get out the smell? And what if I steam it inside? Would that kill some bacteria? I also have a clothing freshener spray; could I use it?

I'm really anxious the dry cleaner might ruin it, lose it, or who knows what. I also don't want to smell like sweat at the wedding.

The material is mostly tulle, lace, 3D flowers, and small paillettes (with a corset - A-line shape). Most of the part that I want to refresh is the corset part of the dress.

Thank you so much in advance.

Too fluffy, too anxious. 💩 on doctors floor.

I want some advice; I also wanted to vent a bit.

I just came from the doctor. Our 2-year-old cutie pie Maltipoo is overweight.

  1. She is one and a half kilograms heavier than she should be. 😭 It's Mama's fault for giving her snacks all the time! Now we will try to walk longer and have very few snacks per day. (Does anyone have experience with overweight Maltipoos? What helps the most?)

  2. Also, an anxious girl, she stuck to me the whole time. She shook, hyperventilated, and had a high heartbeat for most of the time. She pooped on the floor and the doctor's table. The doctor gave me a calming pheromone collar and told me to use it for 3 months, and to exercise with her more for attachment issues. It seems she seeks protection in my arms, and I give it to her, and this must be an issue. Does anyone have experience? What exercises work? And how can I make her less afraid of the doctor? Many dogs I see at the doctor are not as afraid as her. I also have to say she did have a very bad experience in a pet hospital. But how can I train her to be better? It was hurting my soul to see her shaking and being so afraid. Our doctor is so calm and wonderful, as is the whole team. They were so patient with her. They even let us stay longer just so she could calm down and see they don't do anything bad.

  3. They told us it's not necessary to spay her if her period is regular and she has no nodules at the breasts. What is your experience? Her period is very punctual, she and we manage it very well, and we take care that she doesn't get an infection down there.

I am thankful for any advice!

Immigration center - Duesseldorf

I have a question: Is this happening in your city too?

Our immigration center recently tried to digitalize more, but with that, they reduced contact (mail/phone) opportunities to an online form or appointment.

I mean, things go like this:

Do you have a question that you don't find the answer to on their online portal? Too bad for you. They no longer have a hotline contact number (it used to be 02118921020, but now they send you directly to their website).

The only option is to go early in the morning to the center and ask the security guy, who more often than not sends you to check online.

I tried to contact them via email. Surprise!

Answer:

"You are using a mailbox set up for requests from offices, authorities, institutions, and legal counsel. Such requests are processed here. General requests from private individuals are not processed here!"

Where are general questions from private individuals processed? If not by hotline and not by email, am I supposed to skip work all the time?

Also, I have to say, they are not very fast in processing papers sent via online forms either. We sent some papers and heard nothing about them for a year, only to find out they had lost our papers several times. The process took almost two years because they lost papers.

I'm really so exhausted with the process, and I feel my hands are tied when I can't even call to ask a genuine question.

Crying after interaction with supermarket cashier😭

Why are so many people extremely rude? I have seen this quite often; they are screaming at customers.

I bought a bag of food for my dog, and when I opened it, the kibbles inside were unusual, looking like two different types of dog food. I didn't know what to do, so I went back to the store.

They screamed at me that the food looked normal and to just feed my dog, but I knew it was not the same as what I usually feed her. They told me to talk to the manufacturer myself and screamed that they would give me no refund.

I didn't want a refund. I just wanted them to call the manufacturer and report the food because it was unusual. I can't give my dog just any food; she often has belly issues.

The screaming hurt me so much.

How do you deal with that? That is so sad...😭😭😭

Curious about the effect of Levar del Sole.

I am curious if someone has smelled the fragrance Casamorati Levar del Sole and can give an opinion of what type of material/s/combi/accord creates the amazing scent of radiant sweet balsamic note?

(Not interested in duping, but more in understanding what creates the effect)

Thank you in advance.

Petite woman - worklife

Hi everyone, im new here. I want to know the opinion of especially petite womans that look younger than their age, on how you are treated at work. Are you taken in serious?

Because to me often (even tough my all woman team is quite nice) they often point out that in front of men (that work in other positons but we have meetings with them) im looking less profesional, cause quote : - you are cute. You have curls, you are small, petite, fine. So you come out too sweet and in need of protection - not strong.

Ok. 1.what if I am like that, what is it wrong with it? Is me. I am and look like that. But my work is very profesional.

  1. I am a woman. It came to me as im "too girly" - and "girls are not profesional".

I have to say, I never let a man talk down on me as I am very vocal if something like that happens. I also am acting as profesional as I know. I only get applauds for my job. And no man have pointed that out to me that "im to sweet"

Some other petite womans out here that have similar experiences and can advice me?

I have to mention im 30 years old.

Thanks in advance

Birth in Germany: Positive Experiences

I need some positive stories about birth in Germany. My friends have only scared me with bad stories about their or their friends' births here, and I feel so anxious now. We plan to have a child here soon, and I'm already anxious about the subject. I really thought German hospitals, nurses, and doctors were very good here, but the stories I heard scared me.

I would like to read some positive experiences or opinions on this subject from women who have given birth here 🥲

Thank you so much, I appreciate it a lot.

HELP Hairstyle Bride

Firstly disclamer : picture 2 and 3 are modified with Ai so I can see how this hairstyle looks on me.

So , Ive been growing my hair long for the wedding and I feel sad to put it in a bun. I find looks cute too but maybe only for church. (Wedding church+ party after) - my wish was to have it open, like in pic 1.

My mom completly dissagreas and wants me to have it in a bun at the church. That "is too simple, u wear similar daily open with curls". But I think i like the "relaxed" hair look with the amaizing fancy dress and setting (like in pic 1) .

Will I regret not having a bun at the church?

Or also looks good to have it open at church?

Other idea will be to have bun at church and later to make it open but that gives me some anxiety of "what if it dosnt look so good open cause of the bu twists? My hair is slightly curly so tends to copy patterns of how it sits.

I know for sure I will regret to have my long hair in a bun all day cause , why did I grow it for? Plus I love my hair , why not to show it open....

Dear Maltese group, what do you do to keep your sweetheart healthy? Any tips? Or for those of you with cutie pies that are already over 8-9 years old and are quite healthy, what did you find worked well for your Maltese?

Maybe we can gather some tips for everyone here ❤️

My baby is 2 years old, her name is Momo, and she is quite energetic. She eats her food if it's good food, and sometimes has belly issues (once every 3 weeks).

I had a lovely Poodle as a kid; he lived till 14. He played till 12, very energetic and healthy until his last 2 years. My mom gave him everything to eat (now I know it's not good; back then I was a kid). She also fed him some vitamins. Therefore, I started looking into vitamins for dogs, but I'm unsure if they are needed or if it's better to feed foods that contain good nutrients.
