Do you combination feed?
Breastfeed, strictly formula, or combination? How old is your baby and what is your reason for your choice?

My 4-week-old baby boy is around the 99th percentile for height/length, weight, and head size, and I’m curious how predictive that actually is long-term.
He’s also been consistently measuring very large since the second trimester, so this has been his growth pattern for quite a while.
I’m only 5’2”, but my husband is 6’2”, so we have a pretty big height difference between us.
For those of you who had babies who were 95th–99th+ percentile for height, weight, and head circumference during pregnancy and as newborns, did they stay big as they got older? Were they still tall/big toddlers and kids / teenagers and adults, or did they eventually settle into more average percentiles?
Especially curious to hear from parents where one parent is short and the other is tall but would love any relevant perspective. I know newborn size doesn’t perfectly predict adult size, but I’d love to hear what happened with your babies!
Random question for the group — has anyone else had a baby measure really big on ultrasound that ended up being smaller at birth? 👀
I’m 5’2” and really hoping for a spontaneous vaginal birth. My baby has been measuring very large consistently, and my OB basically has very little faith that I can push him out vaginally. Meanwhile my doula is like “that’s absolutely not true” and keeps reminding me that ultrasounds can have a pretty big margin of error and petite women have spontaneous vaginal births every day.
I know there’s a lot of debate around big baby management, interventions, etc. in the US, and I’m aware doctors/hospitals can sometimes lean intervention-heavy. I’m trying to stay evidence-based and realistic, not anti-doctor, but I also don’t want fear-based decision making if these scans are off all the time. Important to note this is a low risk pregnancy and I do not have gestational diabetes.
Would love to hear real stories:
- Did your baby measure huge and come out average?
- Were the scans actually accurate?
- Did anyone “small-framed” still have a successful vaginal birth with a “big” baby?
