Also, Tote #1 of “I Don’t Wanna Talk About It.”
I feel bad for the movers and myself.
Anyone want to guess what under all the bubble wrap and cling wrap?
Context: Getting ready to make a big move to a new state.
This is commission for one my Dominican sisters.
It is nearly identical to my V1 of this Rosary (mine is on the right in the second picture).
I’m only half kidding. Imagine having boxes the same size as the ammo can, one is a water dispenser, the other, coffee.
Just Finished Sharpe’s Devil
I just completed my journey of listening to the Sharpe series on Audible. Dick’s evolution from a greed-driven Private in India to a war weary senior officer is incredible. I’m just so sad that it’s over. I tried going back to listening to 40k novels but it just doesn’t scratch the itch anymore.
Any recommendations on something similar to the Sharpe series?
Edit: Before someone recommends the Gaunt series, I went through and loved that series as well. That’s how I found out about the Sharpe series in the first place.
The Albanians love me so much! Love you guys.
I had a package that was to be delivered today but required a signature. I knew that I had errands to run so I asked them to hold it at a FedEx Corporate drop off center thinking that it would be brought there first thing in the morning and I could grab it while running errands. He center opens at 10 AM and closes at 4:00 PM on Saturdays. I finished my running around and get home, no updates. 3:00 PM rolls around, still no update. So I drive to the drop off location in the hope that it just wasn’t scanned yet.
Let me start by saying that I have nothing but good things to say about their customer service in store and over the phone. I dispatched technicians for over 8 years so I immediately recognized their reactions of “what the heck is that driver doing!?.” The staff at the drop off center tried making a few calls to see what’s going on because they normally see the truck come in early in the morning. They have a hard time getting hold of a manager without much luck. They eventually get a call back and someone tells them it was loaded on a van so the driver can just take off on Monday. A minute later another customer called in to the desk with the same question. Wouldn’t you know it, their package was in the same truck at the same truck parked at the main facility.
This is not unique to FedEx, and I have been on the customer and CSR side of the issue. In my experience there’s usually an on call manager during the weekend that is supposed to respond to these kind of issues and monitor their guys. And I have been in countless situations where the manager doesn’t pick up and only calls back halfway through my shift. I have also had local managers who tell their guys who are dragging their feet that they have to complete all their jobs for the day before they head home. FedEx needs to hold all of their drivers to the same standards regardless if they’re corporate or contractor. If a driver is running behind, get them someone that can help out and take some of the packages from them. FedEx and many other companies need to take accountability and create a culture of strong work ethics.
Activists and politicians (Basically the same thing), spout the “shoot them in the legs” nonsense when a criminal is killed with a center mass shot. But these same idiots forget they make this argument when it comes to body armor.
First picture was posted on a photography sub. The second is a Soviet invention called a Photosniper.
I forgot that I’m supposed to be rooting for the British.
I placed an order for the Balaur Arms Gallowglass. I can’t wait.
I think people ought to know what their information is worth to billion dollar companies. If we’re the product and we consent to our data being sold simply for using a car, fridge, TV, or a damn stove then we ought to be entitled to a share of the profits from our own information.
