This is excellent and better than either official version.

I finally got around to playing this. Great atmosphere and music, great controls, great re-imagining of the original game with some extra added.

Metroid fights can be kind of annoying but other than that I have no issues with this fan remake.

[SSHD] Skyward Sword HD traditional controls.

I recently got a switch and this is one of the only Zelda games I haven’t played, I didn’t like the motion controls on the Wii.

Is this playable completely with traditional controls? If so is it implemented well?

I do this for the Shinespark.

Dread was pretty tough at some parts, but I spent way more time on the Zero Mission shinespark puzzles.

I love these games.

4 rounds of interviews including one technical interview in person and a large panel. Almost a month of my time. Ghosted.

Not even rejected, just ghosted. I even sent an email asking for an update. No response. How is this professional? I’m fine being told “we went with another candidate” but the silence is disrespectful. Especially after a final round interview.

This is a very large corporate operation.

(Dread) Burenia Shinespark Missle

(Don’t have a video because I’m new to the Switch and didn’t know how)

Going for 100% and this one took me a little bit. I finally nailed it though and this is part of why I love these games.

This one especially reminded me of a certain puzzle in Zero Mission that I used to obsess over.

2nd Dread playthrough, I love this game.

Uncertainty after 2nd round.

I’m bad at professional interviews, I’m worse at panel interviews.

Sitting in front of my computer being bombarded by 4 different people with “tell me a situation in which you handled this problem” or “what are your worst qualities that you recognize in yourself and what was your biggest failure in your career” type of questions just stress me out.

The thing is I have a lot of experience for the job I’m interviewing for, and I was very quickly and enthusiastically asked to move on to the second round.

I feel like I bombed it. I paused, I kind of scrambled for answers for all these scenarios, I tried to self reflect on my negatives without sounding incompetent.

I hate this. I’m so qualified for the job, I’m just not good at interviews. I really want this one, I’ve been looking for a way out of a bad job that’s draining my humanity for the better part of a year now and I always, always get rejected.

Next round (if I’m selected) is in person to showcase my qualifications, I’m not at all worried about that one. I just hope I make it.

All this waiting is driving me crazy.

This is a rant and a question, should I send another follow up email thanking them for the time and showing interest after a second round as well?

I finally found some time to finish Prime 4 tonight.

I made a post a few days ago about Prime 4 being a genuinely fun game, even if it’s not the greatest part of the series.

I probably should have finished it before running my mouth.

The ending just gave me the biggest sigh and eye roll and kind of pissed me off.

I hate cliff hangers in games I’ve invested my time into, especially when it could be years before a sequel is released, I already came this far in a game with a pretty mediocre story. Just end it.

I also don’t really want a sequel to this game, it wasn’t interesting or well thought out at all.

Also it’s a fucking Metroid game. Save a few animals or help a species and bounce. Maybe blow up the planet on your way out.

I had a good time with it, it genuinely has fun mechanics and the “psychic” gimmick was actually pretty cool. NPC’s aren’t too bad.

Prime 5 is probably coming someday, I’ll probably play it when it releases in 9 years because I’m a shameless Metroid fanatic, but I’m still annoyed.

At least it was gifted to me and I didn’t have to buy it.

Gameplay: 8/10 (stupid motorcycle)

Atmosphere and music: 6.8/10

Story: lol

Not being Other M: 10/10

Anyone have experience with Compass Group for a chef job?

I might interview for what seems like a pretty decent job, they said they’re with Compass Group. Any insight on how they operate? Or tips for the interview style?

Edit: this would be at a University for one of the schools.

This album is fucking excellent. I’ve had it on repeat almost daily since in came out.

EDIT: Panopticon - Det Hjemsøkte Hjertet

I don’t think I’ve listened to every one of his albums but definitely quite a few. This is probably my favorite release of the year so far.

A friend of mine told me they only have like 7 monthly listeners on Spotify which I thought was kind of funny. I thought it was a more popular project.

What’s your favorite album?

My turn to say it. Metroid Prime 4 is a good time.

I wasn’t going to buy it, but it was gifted to me so why the hell not.

Metroid Prime 4 is a blast. I’ve heard everyone’s criticisms and I agree for the most part, but I’m still having a good time.

-Miles isn’t that bad, talking NPC’s existed in 3 and I still enjoyed the hell out of that game.

-The fucking bike is unnecessary and makes backtracking (which there is a good bit of) kind of a pain but still not a deal breaker.

-It’s very linear and very hand holding. Who cares, so is Fusion and I liked that one too.

The game looks great, the music is good, the boss fights are fun, and Samus is still a silent bad ass.

It’s not the best Metroid game, or even close to my favorite, but I’m having a great time with it.

and of course, it’s 1000x better than Other M.

7.5/10

Wok Shop Carbon Steel #4

Inspired by a recent post on here I bought this from the Wok Shop, I chose the smaller version to compliment the other larger “cleavers” I currently have. I love the feel of it, I’m just about to test it out on some vegetables for dinner.

This is my first carbon steel knife and thinking about forced patina, I’ve never done it before though.

Bonus picture at the end of the new knife with my two favorite Cai Dao. (First is the old faithful Dexter that’s been through a lot with me, and a relatively newer Shibazi Zuo.)

Tojiro basic gyuto

I’ve been using German steel for years and decided to buy this cheaper Tojiro (basic) to see how I like the VG10.

It’s sharp out of the box, I used it a little today at work. It’s been great so far! The handle is a little smaller than I’m used to but I hardly notice it the way I’ve been holding it.
