overwhelmed by cleaning

i genuinely don’t know what to do. i’m writing this in four hours of sleep within the past two days and after a cleaning/organising spree where i discovered a multitude of problems within in my flat.

i hired some help to move and reorganise my bedroom and also to clean my bathroom as my mental health has been exceptionally bad these past few years and they did a decent job but the main reason i asked for their help was because i noticed some flies in my window about a week or two ago and was concerned my cats had peed under my bed or something.

whilst they were here we discovered my bed is in absolute shambles, my ikea wardrobe is falling apart and the vinyl flooring has holes in it from where my wardrobe was pushed around.

they then left and i started to strip my bedding so i could at least maybe sleep on a clean bed tonight only to discover another pee smell from inside my wardrobe that the ladies who helped hadn’t mentioned.
it’s another spot where my cats have peed and due to my lack of sense of smell i hadn’t noticed.

i’ve put a hoodie over it for the time being as i needed to put my pillows and duvet in there whilst the bedding washes but im just so overwhelmed and at a loss.

it feels like no matter what i do something is falling apart or somewhere theres an issue linked to my cats peeing in paces they shouldn’t have and now with all the furniture out of place i feel uncomfortable but i also know they uncomfiness is partially due to the stress and overwhelm of maintaining my flat and partially the difficulty with adjusting to change.

being sleep deprived, on my period and suffering from this uk heat probably isn’t helping my case but it’s just too much for me to handle especially since i live alone.

panting but no other symptoms?

hi, i’m really worried about my cats during this heatwave in the uk but i’ve done absolutely everything i could to cool my cats down and they’re still panting every now and again but there’s been no other change in their behaviour, they’re pooing normally, eating they’re food normally, have their normal post poo zoomies.

it’s literally just the panting, everything i’ve seen when i look it up has said they’re suffering from heat stroke and that i need to take them to the vets but it’s literally just panting and heavier breathing than usual ;-;

im so worried for my fur babies :((

staying cool in this uk heatwave?

hi!
i live in a ground floor flat in the uk and as i’m sure a lot of people are, i’m really struggling with this current heatwave.

sweat is one of my biggest sensory triggers and on top of that i can’t open any of the windows besides the bathroom window so my flats even more humid and hot because there’s literally no escape from the heat.

i have someone coming to look at my windows next monday but that’ll be after the highest temps have already passed.

on top of this i also have two house cats that im worried about and i just don’t really know what more i can do for both me and them.

im sleeping on the sofa right now as the living room is the coolest room at the moment, i have fans consistently going and ive taken as many precautions as possible for my cats but im just genuinely at a loss.

i know this heat can be nothing to many people but i cannot function in this heat 😭

tips to keeping cool?

i have two house cats and live in a ground floor flat and it’s been a real struggle because we’re not able to open any of the windows besides the bathroom window at the moment.

we do have someone coming out to take a look at them but that’s not until next week which by then the main heat spike will have (hopefully) gone down.

i’ve got fans running, consistently keeping water fresh and filled, frozen churru treats, ice pack wrapped in a tea towel and i even shoved one of my t-shirts in the freezer and laid that out on the floor for them.

it’s gotten so incredibly humid and with tomorrow set to be even hotter im really worried ://

flies inside despite windows and doors kept closed

so i suddenly found about six flies inside my bedroom window despite the fact that i keep all my doors and windows closed.

there is a bush growing outside my window which i will be dealing with asap but i still don’t understand how or why they’ve gotten inside.

i do live in an old pub so the window frame and the wall around it has many holes and cracks but would they really crawl through them only to crawl about the inside of my window.

so far they’ve stayed literally only at my bedroom window despite my cats litter box being on the other side of the room but i regularly clean it and have spotted nothing in their litter.

i don’t do well with bugs and with the uk heat getting worse im scared its going to cause a bigger issue :/
