I love this phone

So for context, I was in a region with low network coverage and I had to take a couple of calls. I thought that I wouldn't be able to talk or hear properly due to the low network, but apparently, I was fussing over nothing because with one bar of signal, this phone worked like a charm and didn't drop signal for a second, and I had perfect calls. For reference, the Pixel 9 absolutely doesn't work in that region (tried), and my old phone absolutely wouldn't compete with this.

I love this phone!

Would you guys use another pdf platform other than ilovepdf dot com?

So i was thinking of building a pdf tool website with similar features as ilovepdf dot com but fully private not a claim like we delete your files in an hours or so.

So my question is would you guys use it if it doesn't ever touch a single server?

Would this be better alternative than the mentioned website for professionals that need to keep their work private, i.e. researchers, legal professionals, accountants, etc.

If no then please let me know why so i can think accordingly.

Shino's Battery Guide, Adapted and Tested for the S25 Series

Original guide: Shino's Ultimate Battery Guide (r/S24Ultra)

With this setup I'm consistently getting 8+ hours of screen on time on mixed daily usage, going from 100% to about 15%.

Credit where it's due: this is built on top of Shino's original guide above, which was written for the S24 Ultra. A lot of it carries over fine to the S25 Regular Model, but a few things needed tweaking, didn't apply, or got replaced with Modes & Routines automation. Posting what I actually did on my S25 in case it saves someone else the trial and error.

What carried over exactly the same

  • Background app limits / deep sleeping apps — Settings > Battery > Background usage limits. Switched off "put used apps to sleep," moved as many non-essential apps as possible to deep sleep.
  • Dark mode — straightforward, same as before.
  • Auto brightness off — running manual brightness, low indoors, higher outdoors.
  • Disable adaptive battery — Settings > Battery > More battery settings.
  • Disable RAM Plus
  • Disable data roaming
  • Disable diagnostic data sharing
  • Disable Google diagnostics/recommendations
  • Turn off device scanning and network notifications
  • Turn off Customization Service
  • Turn off Bluetooth scanning
  • Force 4G — no need for a third-party app on the S25, it's built into settings. Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network mode, and select "LTE Preferred." Worth noting this one's a personal preference call (you're trading 5G speeds for thermals/battery), so don't feel obligated if you actually need 5G.

What I did differently

  • Performance profile (Tip 6): instead of just leaving it on light mode permanently, I handled this through a Routine (see below) so it auto-switches to standard when I open games or the camera, then drops back to light the rest of the time. Best of both worlds, no manual toggling.
  • Wifi/Bluetooth scanning: only turned off Bluetooth scanning, left wifi scanning on (useful for location accuracy without GPS in some apps, your call).

Modes & Routines I use (this is where the S25 setup goes beyond the original guide)

Shino's guide doesn't cover Modes & Routines at all, but this is honestly doing a lot of the heavy lifting for me now. Here's exactly what I have set up:

  • Sleep mode: turns on DND, switches power saving to standard, and enables the eye comfort shield.
  • Routine — Close apps when asleep: if time is 2 AM, close all apps. Not totally sure this is doing anything measurable, but it's not hurting either.
  • Routine — Save battery: if not charging and battery is below 21%, switch power saving to standard and motion smoothness to standard (60Hz).
  • Routine — Maximum battery saver: if not charging and battery is below 6%, switch power saving to maximum.
  • Routine — Performance: starts when an app is opened (gaming apps, camera app), switches the performance profile from light to standard automatically.

What I skipped or wasn't relevant on S25

  • Disable background data usage per app: skipped this one, didn't bother going app by app.
  • Reduce screen resolution: not applicable, the S25 panel doesn't have a resolution toggle like older models did.
  • Refresh rate: kept it on adaptive instead of forcing 60Hz as a blanket setting, since the Save Battery routine above already drops it to 60Hz automatically when battery gets low.
  • App Booster / Thermal Guardian: didn't use either.
  • Manual cache clearing trick: skipped, the Sleep mode and routines above handle enough of this automatically that it felt redundant.

TL;DR

Most of Shino's original guide ports over cleanly to the S25 series, the menu paths are basically unchanged. The main differences are that a couple of the optional extras (resolution scaling) just aren't a thing anymore on this panel, and Modes & Routines now automate a lot of what used to require manual toggling (performance profile, power saving thresholds, refresh rate, sleep behavior). Net result is 8+ hours SOT on mixed use, 100 to 15%. Happy to answer questions if anyone's trying to replicate this.

Note: I used AI to help organize and write up this post, but the actual settings, routines, and testing behind it are mine, done over about a month and a half on a new device.

Astrological Imagery

Has anyone tried to take photos from s25 using a telescope? I would try today, if anyone has already done it before can you share your experience and setup (phone as well as telescope).

Attached image is taken by S25 with 30x zoom using the default camera app.

Overthinking right now

Hey guys good afternoon/evening.

So i recently completed my bachelors, i was exploring 2 options in my final year to get a job somehow and or get selected for a masters program in german public uni. After February 2026 i gave up on job market since it was getting nowhere and started preparing for german unis and major project.

Now i have a few more university left that haven't replied yet but if they don't then what should i do? I'm genuinely really confused about this. I'm overthinking everyday and everything, can't sleep, can't eat, idk.

And the thing is my family is pushing me towards all the things since last year, jobs, germany, tutoring, some random job, and now I'm have built up this frustration that just doesn't end. I don't talk to my family much unless they ask a question directly because anything i say now will lead to some of my faults. Maybe I'm just average and trying to hard.

Anyone who has got through similar time can you let me know how to push myself forward and get this frustration away. I don't want to be angry, honestly i don't have the energy for it. I just want my mind to relax for a bit. I can't even sleep properly nowadays.

Local AI agent assistant?

Has anyone tried to train an LLM or other Architecture model to work locally? For example creating the model and training it for work that runs locally but has access to internet for whatever work you want it to search for, without api of course.

I'd like to know how you did that since i can't figure out how to create a single reasoning model that works this way and is light weight.

Changing information on application portal.

Hi, I'm from India and applied for APS before March with my the result I had at that time. And I applied to most unis in April and May with my 7th sem result (3.5 year) since i didn't had my 8th sem result.

Now I have received my 8th semester result and complete grade of 4 year degree, the question I'm confused about is, my grade in German Scale didn't change in first decimal place but reduced to lower end of it, i.e. 2.38 to 2.32 but I've also provided my own Cumulative GPA from my own grading system in multiple applications and that has also changed. So should i change the info on the portal or let it be since ECTS are the main requirement anyway. Would updating it push my application to todays date and will they take more time, I'm assuming it's this case so I'm just gonna let it be, but if you have any advice let me know.

New Purchase

Hello, I'll be receiving my s25 today. What do you guys recommend in general settings to improve/optimise performance of the phone.

I'm not a power user, I'd like my phone to do all the stuff without breaking a sweat rather than just do one thing really well and suffer in different categories, if possible can you guys tell me how you optimized your device.

Thank you for your time!

Non-native

I was supposed to take the exam late February, procrastinated and found myself struggling against the timeline of applications. Late March i thought let's take it in late April so i can have prep time.

Little did i know, all hell broke loose, i had other commitments and all deadlines and this and that. Just had 4-5 days to prepare.

Anyways really really happy. Minimum in each was 6.5 so I'm good.

The test was really easy tho. Idk why IELTS advantage said it's difficult.

If you guys want any advice I'll be happy to help!
