Shop Vac repair?

I have a Shop Vac I can't find a replacement switch for. Anyone know of a shop in the area that does repairs on these, or could help sourcing the switch?

Where to find simple graphical game challenges?

I’ve not had much chance to use my Python knowledge in a while, so I’m thinking about what would interest me enough to learn something new and keep in practice. Where could I find some simple and escalating challenges for making games that are more graphical in nature (not just word games or the like).

I’ve never done any game dev, and haven’t really done much with graphics, so I’ll need something that starts with very easy assignments. But I tend to learn fast and get bored (ADHD) with too much repetition, so I’m hoping for some with scaling difficulty.

Best sources for parts?

I need to update my aging PC (new SSD, CPU, perhaps MB). I've usually used NewEgg for parts. Are there any suggestions for better prices, or should I just stick with what I know?

Advantages of Python over VBA?

I started programming decades ago in VBA, first in Access and later in the rest of Office. I’ve done a few ambitious projects, and a ton of smaller automation and macros.

I’ve been learning Python off and on for a while, and I’m comfortable doing some basic stuff. I’ve created a library of personal modules for file management, really simple data manipulation, and some data analysis. I’m thinking my next step for me would be using it in Excel. But I struggle to come up with a reason to use Python instead of VBA.

What are the advantages Python gives us in Excel?

Odd question: where to find snaps like on leatherman sheath?

I’m looking for a snap that’s a close match to the snap on my Leatherman nylon sheath. Does anybody know what those are called, or perhaps even a source for a match?

R60 change USB outlet to “on with key”?

Is there a reasonable way to change the USB outlet so it is only on when the key is in, like the stereo?

Where to find this switch?

I'm repairing my Shop Vac, and need to replace the rocker switch. It needs to be rated 12A/125V, and it's a T125 rated DPST switch. I'm having trouble finding one that meets both the amperage and temperature ratings, and also fits the opening (approx 19mm x 12.8mm). I've looked at everything I could find on Amazon, and no luck there. Anyone have a suggestion?

R60 - make USB port powered only when key is in?

In my R69 (2014 Countryman S), the USB port is powered all the time (until it tiles out at some point). Is there a relatively easy way to alter it so it loses power when I remove the fob, like the audio system does?

Replacement switch for Shop Vac 90L550A

The switch on my Shop Vac has failed (spring returns it to "on" position when it has been turned off). The parts list doesn't show it separately. It looks like it's a T125 switch, but I find variants of it. Anyone know how I can tell which will fit properly, or will they all be the same form factor, as long as I match the specs?

Trusted general mechanic, or one with MINI expertise

I’ve had my 2014 R60 for a couple months, and it’s time to decide where she’ll be serviced.

In the past, I’ve used a local mechanic and had really good experience with them. We also use them for the vehicles at work. This week I found a local shop (European Motor Werks in Hendersonville NC) that is attached to a used MINI dealership. They’d obviously have better knowledge of the make, and might have more specialized equipment.

Is there good reason to switch to the specialists?

What would cause this wear pattern?

This is on a Ford Transit 350 used exclusively on steep, twisty mountain roads and gravel, all at relatively low speeds. Picture is left front tire - right is worse, but not showing the same pattern (worn too far for this).

As you can see in the pics, each element is worn unevenly, and there’s a flap developed at the leading edge. Outside is also worn significantly more than the inside, though that may just be due to the sharp curves (17 steep switchbacks in 3 miles).
