I made shepherd’s pie for dad and sister
Baba and sister LOVED it, he had 3 portions mashallah. It was great. I used lamb ofc.

Take a guess!
Edit: it’s shepherds pie:> most of guessed correctly
Experimented with plating a lot.
The non alcohol beer is cuz i don’t have access to alcohol.
Fries are triple cooked.
The “tartar” is mayo, juice from jalapeño jar, and lemon juice.
💙
Chicken pie, flaky pie pastry on the bottom and puff pastry on the top both homemade but I couldn’t show the process of puff pastry sorry :/
If you wonder about not using wine it’s just not available to me where I live.
I’m scared 😂😂
Edit: you guys are wonderful! Thanks for the constructive criticism. Will post more in the future asking for brutally judging 🫰.
Baba’s friend from Kuwait brought 2 big boxes full of petite buerre biscuits, enough to make maybe 4 of these huge cakes 🤭. But I love this cake, because my aunty from Kuwait used to make it for me whenever I was there for Ramadan. I looked up a recipe and made my own version for baba and my brothers and sisters. 🫰
I used nearly 70 biscuits for this one. By the time I was finished I was too tired to cut a piece, because today I cooked and baked 4 different things 🫰 tomorrow enshallah I will post a photo with a piece haha
4 different cheeses and roasted garlic butter in roti Canai from scratch
Puff pastry dough and custard is homemade 🤗
My first attempt and it was great!!
Homemade pastry, homemade custard and fruits
Made this in the morning with my coffee. ☕️
Today I made a 2 layer chocolate cake topped with homemade puff pastry bites. In the morning I rolled labneh balls that had been straining for 3 days ❤️.
I made everything on the table except the Tabbouleh and Hummus (I didn’t have time for that)
I made:
- I made Roti Canai from scratch (flaky bread top left of the photo)
- oven roasted chicken
- triple cooked fries
- Lebanese style “toum”
- prepared rosemary ice in the glasses
- the hashweh with pine nuts on top of the hummus
We hand a lovely time of laughter and enjoying food ❤️
Beginner kitchen user here. Made my first puff pastry thing. This is a picture after my last fold and before putting it I the fridge for 8 hours…
I am wondering: what is something I can make very quickly to make sure it puffs in the oven? Is 220 celcius for 20 mins okay? And I am supposed to flatten with a rolling pin to around a half inch again before cutting out a piece and baking jt?
I will post photos of the pastry after baking, if there are visible errors, will be awesome to brainstorm possible causes. Thank you to the community in advance.
I used this to make my puff pastry:

I love this video so much.
I’m a massive beginner/learner 🙏🙏
I was reading this cook book where the author said they went over the correct temperature while making caramel, and so as a result of not getting a candy thermometer, they ended up having to pay hundreds of dollars worth of dental care…
I simply want to chop chocolate bars that contain caramel, fold them into my cookie batter and bake, would this be safe or would this cause whatever happened to the book author I mentioned?
Science explanations more than welcome as I am trying to learn.
Edit: thank you for responding 🥹🥺, since you two were curious, I went ahead and looked up the quote for you! Although I’m afraid maybe it won’t explain much..
““The first time I made caramel candies I was too stingy to buy a twelve-dollar candy thermometer. I figured I could just eyeball the temperature. As a result, my caramels were so sticky that I ended up paying hundreds of dollars for dental work instead. Learn from my stubbornness and invest in a candy thermometer to help monitor temperatures when working with sugar (and use it for deep-frying, too!).”

How common is this? What is the vibe about it?
I mean a full waiting job:
Taking orders, serving, receiving payments and cleaning the table. Do Saudi nationals have such jobs? If not, do they do them in like Michelin restaurants?
