Thrift store or reg store for film camera

I shoot on film when I remember and I think I will be more in top of it if I have a smaller camera. I’m currently using a minolta that was used to take pics of my dad when he was a kid. But im wanting something smaller that I can throw in my jacket pocket or bag.

So im wondering if y’all have any suggestions of thrift stores or regular film camera stores that might sell what I might be looking for ? Thank you!! :)

Bad drivers post #2,518,6271,628.7362

Been seeing posts abt the bad drivers in atx and had to share what i saw today. The guy realized he was on the wrong side of the road right when I took the pic bc he backed up and fixed his mistake but still you aren’t paying attention to the 2 yeller lines?

Mind you it’s a daily occurrence but it’s (a little) rare that ppl are just this dumb/ impatient? Like fr what is it? Are they just not thinking? Do they just don’t gaf? Plz can a UT psych major do a study to get to the bottom of this.

And if you are like this please tell me what is your thought process. Please donate your brain to science so they can study why you are the way you are.

Astigmatism lens discomfort

Hey yall, I just wanted to see if anybody else has had some discomfort with astigmatism lenses like I have.

I’ve been a contact wearer for about 6 years now. I do have a little astigmatism in my left eye but until the last year it hasn’t been bad enough to have an actual astigmatism lens.

The last 6ish months I’ve needed one for my left eye and the kind I had (biofinity) has just been so annoying. They are monthlies and even when I first put them in I have to manually adjust them bc even when I blink the little line goes wherever it wants. It’s annoying cause I gotta either go to the restroom make sure my hand is clean. Or too I recently started a job where they cover my camera so during the day I can’t use my phone camera to adjust quickly. Just annoying!!

Today I got a new eye exam and told the dr about the discomfort and she gave me some contacts that feel great, very thin and I basically can’t feel them in my eye which sounds perfect BUT idk if I’m not used to them yet bc again it’s only been a few hours but I’m scared that this will be a permanent thing with this brand.

Basically (and ik how lenses work bc I took physics 2 in college and we went over a lens topic lol) on the left and right side when the lens is settled I keep seeing something in my peripheral like if I try to focus without looking it’s in the corners of my eye, where I imagine the lens is /what ever technology is in it to make it a astigmatism lens. Does this make sense?

Does anybody have a similar experience? Ima try to push thru these 2 weeks to see if I do get used to them I just want some contacts that I don’t have problems with :(

Sorry if this comes off as obtuse or whatever I’m just asking if someone has had similar experiences!!

Washer and dryer inquiries

So we are moving out the next week and do not want to take our washer and dryer. The thing is the washer needs a new circuit board. The dryer is perfect and is (in my opinion) pretty new. We have had it for 2-3 years but it’s just 2 ppl in the house and we do a load of laundry like once every 2 weeks lol.

They are both whirlpool washer and dryers I will get exact models I’m just not currently in town. I did some research about the washer and apparently the circuit board just sucks for this specific model and it needs to be replaced. But when I looked into getting one they were on back order from whirlpool and would take a few months to get. It was also maybe around 100ish dollars. This was about a year ago so it might be different availability now. Basically I didn’t feel like spending that and and fixing it bc I was trying to finish up school.

I’m looking on here to see if anybody either can point me in the direction of an appliance handy man that would like to take these off my hands or if any of you would like to take a stab at it.

Again I will get the model numbers and stuff but when originally bought we bought from Best Buy and they were about 600 dollars each. I’m thinking 200 -300 ish dollars for both or best offer. We could potentially talk about dropping them off (it would HAVE to be this upcoming Saturday) or you can come pick up this upcoming sat and it’s gonna be a tight schedule so maybe sometime between 10ish-4ish for pick up.

DM me if you’re interested or if you know anybody who has the means of fixing washers and might be interested please comment :)

Sleepy coworker

So I just started at this engineering company. I started with a group of 6 people and I along with this one guy are the youngest ones, everybody else is like 30+ even in their 50s and I and I think the guy is mid 20s he seems early 20s tho.

The thing is that this other 20yr guy has fallen asleep AT LEAST once a day. We got to a training meeting where we spend about a hour and a half a day being showed software. And every single time this kid (bc he is definitely in that college kid attitude) has nodded off. Like I’m talkin his head drops and he’s trying to stay awake but he doesn’t. And today he literally was snoring.

The thing is that he’s very unprofessional imo. Like even on the company wide group chat he literally said “lmao” which there is some banter (a few lols during the day, max 2) but for the most part it’s professional and full of job questions/info. and then the first day the hr lady was giving him his badge and this was completely on accident but it fell on the ground during the exchange and he said “BRUHH”.

Idk am I trippin about this? I feel like he just can’t read the room and too the trainers haven’t told him anything which I can see why (they were volun-told to train us, so I def feel their hearts aren’t totally in it so they don’t really gaf) but it’s like bro you’re literally taking a 1.5 hr nap in the middle of the day of your professional job. I think it’s his first professional job too and I know for sure he was a computer science major which imo bbmakes sense to how he is (not all CS ppl but some lol ..) I feel it’s also the way young Gen Z act.
