It's pronounced Summer-LAND not Summer-LIND
At least have enough respect for the stressed-out displaced residents to pronounce the name of their town the way they have done their entire lives.

So sick of hearing the same TV promos on CBC radio, over and over again.
Also, that's the lamest line possible. Who reacts to serial murder that way? If that's the best line they can pluck from the show, I'm glad I don't watch TV.
"We're partners - if you go down, I go down. That's the way it works. Trust me."
"I'm nothing if not <squeaky> profesh! </squeaky>"
"Why do I get the feeling we've seen this before?"
"Because..<dramatic pause> We have!" 🤣
Me and a friend would like to take the Goose Trail to there from downtown Victoria this weekend. But it's a 100km round trip, right at the edge of or just beyond our range, even at an easy pace.
I love these unassuming looking Energy bookshelf speakers.
From big to small: Encore, Point 1e, Excel.
They're the OG "punch above their weight" when it comes to big bass response in smaller speakers. And they do it without sounding "boomy" when handling spoken vocal.
Do we really need to be continually force-fed such overt "Praise God" fare by the CBC? I've had more than enough of his grovelling and sobbing, and I'm probably not the only one.
He's regularly featured on Drive, Afterdark, The Block, Mornings with Damhnait Doyle, CBC Music Live, and as filler on regional CBC Radio morning or afternoon shows. He's also featured in multiple profile articles on CBC on the web.
I'm tired of reaching for the "off" switch. And it's not just my imagination that he's being heavily promoted by CBC. The Google AI bot agrees with me:
"Sudanese-Canadian poet, singer, and songwriter Mustafa Ahmed (formerly known as Mustafa the Poet) has been featured extensively across CBC Radio and CBC Music for his poignant "inner-city folk" music, which highlights grief, faith, and his upbringing in Toronto's Regent Park neighborhood.
Notable CBC Radio & Podcast Features
Catalogue # 40-1979. 2 way with 6.5 inch woofer, 2.5 inch tweeter. 8 Ohms. Real wood veneer. Grills seem to be non-removable.
I started with Minimus 7s, then got some Minimus 18s, and I couldn't resist these.
They're all an absolute pleasure to listen to, powered from a Realistic STA-20 amp, with the input from my S.M.S.L D1 DAC tweaked with a Realistic 7 band EQ.
Like I said, I might be in a cult...
Her chats with historian Jill Lepore and NY Times journalists / authors Magie Habermann and Jonathan Swan were lively and enlightening and substantial. I say chats rather than interviews because they are just that - unscripted conversations between bright and knowledgeable people, that we have the privilege of listening in on.
She's also very brave. She's not afraid to talk truth about Trump.

750W BBS02, 48V 20AH. Donor bike is an oldie-but-goodie B.R.C. Gonzo 26" wheel MTB, very light steel with deore exage components, no shocks, cantilever brakes with V-brake levers 😱, $40 at thrift store.
40km/hr cruise, 50 max. Range 80km+ mixed riding including hard throttle. Half-length twist throttle. Programmed 5 levels: 1,2,3 = slow, moderate, brisk pedaling. 4,5 = 80% or 100% power, suitable for fast throttle riding. New 7 speed Shimano cassette, I find I mostly use speed 5 and 6.
My second build (the first was stolen). Over 1800km later I'm still smiling.
The blue straps around the battery are just extra reinforcement.
*rejuvenation
The walnut veneer is very thin, so I had to leave a lot of "character" marks on the top. Sanded down to 320, now in the midst of numerous applications of varnish oil.
The speaker cloth is the colour "coffee" bought off Amazon.
I ditched the alumi-plastic grill frame surrounds. They weren't in the best shape, and I didn't like the aesthetic - they had the style of a '67 Dodge Dart.
This is mine: 10 CD box set, pristine, Beethoven The Complete Piano Sonatas, Anton Kuerti, signed by Anton Kuerti.
$5.99 CDN
$30 Cdn at the thrift store. No signs of any use.
I like to follow along with the playlist playlog as I listen to the shows, so much of the classical, jazz and blues is new to me, and I want to know what I'm listening to, or what's coming up, and learn more.
CBC Listen, website and app, make it like you're playing "Where's Waldo", and much of the time Waldo is just plain not in the picture. The format is inconsistent, sometimes there's just a blank space, some programs have it there sometimes and not other times, some programs are just too coy to tell you anything at all, ever. All of them show "Episodes and Playlogs" links, whether they have playlogs available or not.
Is it just me or should we be expecting better?
In the nineties I had a pair of these in my Chev 3+3 crew cab, shoved in the back bottom corners of the cab. They were pretty good, but froze up in the arctic winter until the cab warmed up.
I've passed up on a few pairs in the last while, I didn't find them very exciting. But together with the Realistic STA-20 mini receiver, which was designed specifically to wring the the best out of these speakers - an "EQ" switch on the back, and a very tailored "loudness" emphasis - they produce crystal clear highs and, as for the bass drivers, they do subwoofer magic. Make's Radio Shack's claim of 50Hz actually seem conservative.
Score!
Longtime CBC Radio/Music hosts who might have been sharp once but have faded, or those who really shouldn't have got on the air in the first place but just. won't. go. away. Or at least change lanes to something that works better for them.
You know, the ones that make you switch streams to a different time zone as soon as they come on. Please limit number of nominees to a maximum of 5.
Listening to the Victoria morning show On the Island via the web, suddenly my right speaker cut out. I was furiously pushing buttons and already knee deep in wires to figure out what was wrong, when the interview clip ended, and both channels had sound again.
I've since realized that they are doing that on a lot of clips, sound in left channel only during interviews.
Why???? Why??? Why on earth would they do this???
The pictures pretty much say it all.
I added a set of banana jacks in parallel to the existing terminals. All it took was drilling two small holes in the plastic for the posts, inserting them through and bolting them down, and soldering wires from the end of the posts to the inside connections of the existing spring connectors.
The components glued to the back of the plastic limited where the new terminal set could be placed.
I build ZK-1002T class D amps-on-a-board into different cases, mainly for fun. Using bluetooth and a 20V DeWalt battery on a Starlink Mini adapter for power, I can try before I buy, anywhere.
It can power even the biggest speakers, and the basic bass and treble controls make it easy to evaluate the whole frequency spectrum.
