That rugby revelation on today's Beaureu De Change of the Mind...

I'm flabbergasted that it took so long for Welsh rugby players to get paid. Who was trousering the money, and how were they getting away with it? Surely there must already be an investigative documentary/book/podcast on this? If not, is Elis the man for the job? I have zero interest in sport generally, but this sounds like a potentially brilliant story.

The sign in the pub quiz special

I'm currently soothing a crashing hangover (was victorious in a pub quiz last night, won a massive bar tab that we immediately got through) by watching the pub quiz special OC. The appropriately-battered sign hanging above Victoria looks like it originally read "The Royal Oak" - is this a reference to a particular pub, or was it intended to be just a generic pubby name?

Edit: genuinely confused as to why someone would downvote a post asking about an episode of a TV show on a subreddit about that TV show. Unless they happened to lose a pub quiz last night...?

Anyone recognise this cutie?

Met them on Farwig lane earlier. Very friendly with a raspy meow. They were also a bit on the skinny side - I know cats often lose a lot of weight in old age, and he's probably a well loved pet who is completely fine. But just wanted to check in case they're someone's missing pet and they were hungry!

Parents, are your kids' attention spans shorter than yours were at their age?

And if so, are you worried? Are you trying to improve them? Or is it a bit of a myth that Tiktok has rotted their brains and everything is the same as it ever was?

Tips for a newbie seller?

Hi all - long time lurker, first time poster here. What tips would you give to someone starting to sell on Vinted for the first time? I've sold a few bits on Ebay before, but I get the impression that Vinted is a slightly different beast. If it makes a difference, I'm going to be mainly selling vintage clothes (especially 1970s/80s pieces, none of which are in perfect condition), and the odd high street thing.

I'm particularly looking for:

  • How I can make my new profile look authentic, as I know some buyers are wary of new sellers. I'm going to upload a profile picture and write a cute bio/description, is there anything else I should do?
  • How to avoid scam buyers
  • What postage options should I offer? I've seen a few people on here complain about Royal Mail, what's the deal there?

Thanks!

the whole street has been closed and there are police everywhere. Be warned anyone trying to travel through that area - it looks like busses will be on diversion for a while.
