Is there a way to order an author proof without an ISBN with either Ingram Spark or KDP? I don't have the money for an ISBN right now but I would like to see how the book looks so I can continue editing if necessary.
If you published a picture book with KDP are you happy with that choice or do you wish you would have pursued the traditional publishing route? I just finished my first children's picture book (hand drawn and manually digitally tinted images, wrote the story myself) and had been intending to self-publish the whole time, but now feel some hesitation for some reason. Just curious to hear folks experiences.
Hello! I hope this is the right place to ask this. I live in the US and we have a lovely Bosnian neighbor who has given us big bags of veggies from her garden this year, multiple times. It is so appreciated and I think it's so kind. The only thing that I have been able to grow in my garden this year that looks nice are pumpkins, so I was thinking of giving her a pumpkin sort of as a thank you, but my mom said no don't do that. That she would probably only want something edible, not a decorative pumpkin. Would it be inappropriate to give her a pumpkin in return?
I'm at a loss for an appropriate way to show appreciation and I'm looking for any ideas. I just don't want to be someone who takes and takes from this kind neighbor and never gives anything back, I think it's not right. But I don't know what to do.

I am chronically ill and cant work more than a few hours here and there, I don't have any friends, the only thing that brought me joy on my birthday was getting a free starbucks drink and today I see that I would have had to make a star qualifying purchase in order to get the drink. I have made a few purchases this year but not with my rewards card. I'm just so sad.
My ferritin is at 6 and I find that exercise makes my heart rate much higher than before and makes me feel terrible. I'm thinking I'm going to have to switch to gentle yoga until this gets better. I'm curious about others experiences.
I just want to say I'm thinking of everyone in the midwest (and elsewhere) who are going to be coping with this huge increase in temperature this next week.
