Chop day tomorrow Blimburn Fat Bastard autos planted may27th

Finally time for chop. I’ve been fighting off bud rot the last few days probably lost 5-10% so acceptable losses. We have had rain 5 days a week for the last couple weeks so worse possible weather in Ohio to finish your plants. I may hold off on one though it’s still foxtailing and throwing new growth but the other 3 are definitely ready. These are the main stems tops as you can see from the chunk missing in the second pic I had to cut it out to prevent the touch of rot from spreading but otherwise they have been tanks. We had once in a summer thunderstorms back to back to back last week and the fact they didn’t completely rot says a lot. I lost a lot of the trichomes on the sugar leaves from the insane rain storms but the buds are so sticky and gooey and my entire block smells like a skunk farted on a fruit salad. 3/4 had very similar phenos and then the one in the second pic has been a little different with its foxtailing buds but all in all it’s been a fun first ever run. Can’t wait on my photos to get there now. Going to use the lotus dry method in an extra fridge we have that’s almost brand new. The other pics are of my photo periods that are currently mid stretch, and a gorilla z auto that is looking like a beast with colas forming the size of my forearms in length.

Another 90%+ humidity night in Ohio.

I’m sitting here on my first true grow and my Fat Bastard Autos are in heavy flower so I walk out back and can just feel the heavy air once again so I check and it’s 92% humidity tonight yet again. If I check every night since they have went into flower it has been 80%-93% almost every night. The weather just sucks this year. We have had a big rain storm 1-2 times every week this summer and by now usually the lawns are brown and dead and we would be in the middle of weeks without rain. Idk what’s going on with Mother Nature this summer but it has been an absolute roller coaster.Thank god for oscillating fans I truly believe that’s only reason I am not hip deep in bud rot. I have done everything I can to increase the airflow but night after night of this humidity will not end well in a week when I chop I am sure. I may have to go a little longer and push it to two weeks I am about to start week 10 on these fat bastard autos from blimburn the breeder says 8-9 weeks but we all know that’s a low bar estimate and these are notorious for running 11+ weeks. I think the trichomes look milky but still no amber yet except on sugar leaves. I just am scared to death for the rot to hit my plants as I have been blessed so far since I used BT to not have any.

Getting to the finish line 9.5 weeks Fat Bastard Autos

Almost there finally but I think they’re looking good. I need the hairs to recede and the buds to swell over the next week then they should start to ripen. This will be my first harvest and I have my jewelers loupe on hand. I don’t plan to post a noob “are these ready for harvest? Since that is kind of personal preference but I am going for all cloudy and 15% amber personally for peak potency. I have a fridge I used for like 6 months then moved and it’s not been used since almost brand new to dry it in. I do have a question for anyone that has done the lotus dry method in a fridge how many plants were you able to fit in a single fridge? I have a second much older fridge I would have to seriously scrub before I could use but I am wondering if I’ll need both. My 4 plants are about waist high from plenty of LST and thick bushes so I figure I would have to hand each branch individually. I would appreciate any feedback on harvest timeline for when to flush and about the fridge drying method please and thank you.

What deficiency is this?

I am thinking cal-mag but I am not familiar with how this plant behaves. This is for my mom, but the plant is in the ground and gets rain water so I am thinking a lack of minerals or something since there isn’t any in the water. Please anyone with experience with this let me know what you think it is I have plenty of fertilizers on hand just want to use the right kind. This plant gets around 8 hours direct light.

Have to love wasps carrying off your pests.

Just walked out to check my plants to see a wasp carrying off some pest as big as it was but that’s exactly why I don’t kill the little stinging asses they help defend my crop. They always come over and check this plants leaves I have to say growing I have an entire new respect for wasps and spiders and being a arachnophobe that is a huuuuge change. When you’ve felt with thrips and mites on even a small scale you welcome all the little predators with open arms.

My lil Fat Bastard…. Auto.

This is my extra fat bastard auto I had that I topped. I knew it wasn’t going to amount to a lot so I figured I would have some fun with it since it’s my first grow. I am well aware it is hungry I have fed it the last 2 waterings and usually been doing every other. It’s only a 1.5 or so liter pot. It’s actually been really healthy other than the early fade, my other 4 have until around August 10-17th to be ready to chop this one may be done earlier not sure since it’s my first grow. Anyways what do you guys think of its shape and the training? I used LST clips and soft coated metal ties. I got the seeds off NASC from Blimburn and have been very happy with the results so far I will show a couple pics of it’s much bigger sisters buds right now.

Day 58 Fat Bastard Autos by Blimburn

This is my first grow and so far with my autos I am really happy. I have 1 that is starving 1 very hungry so I fed them both a little extra but we had rain and I wasn’t able to feed right away but I did a foliage spray with my hithrive cal mag that also has 3% nitrogen and sprayed the tops and bottoms of the leaves yesterday then gave them a big dinner today of Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, Silica, and that Cal-Mag with nitrogen. The leaves lost their green to nitrogen deficiency. I was afraid to over feed and under fed but most of the leaves still have enough green to most likely come back

First grow how’s it looking?

Fat Bastard Autos from Blimburn hitting second week of true flower. The change from 2 days before is crazy. I included 2 pics of what they looked like a couple days ago. Sorry for the flash on the ones with the scrog net was night and noticed I didn’t get a pic for the day of them.

Starting to frost up.

They just started their true flower phase this week and they’re already looking good. This is my first grow so anything will make me happy but I have definitely given it 110% doing my research. Hardest thing has been keeping the 5 gal pots watered with this heat I have to water every day. I am giving them each .5-.7 gallons at a time I usually fill up my 2 gal watering can each time but there is one that only needs water every other day it’s a different pheno as well wanting to grow taller than the other 3 bushes. They’re Fat Bastard Autos by Blimburn they have really been wonderful so far from seed to now. I germinated them on may 27th so they will probably have about a month to go before they’re where I want them. What do you guys think about how they’re looking I have been feeding them a half dose of silica and half dose of Fox Farm big bloom once a week and then a combo of a half dose of Tiger Bloom I backed off giving them any of the cal-mag I have because it has 3% nitrogen in it so I only give them a half a dose every few weeks now if at all. I use tap water with a PH of 7 so I don’t adjust it since growing in 65% Happy Frog 25% perlite and 10% coco coir then I mixed in a 20lb bag of worm castings into my mix of 100 gals since I also did 6 photos with my 6 autos.

The bad weather has Passed

Finally got some sunshine today and the ladies were loving it. I included a picture for contrast of what we did have in Ohio the days before. That picture is taken about the same time of day as the others lol.

Normal Weather for 100

So this year my plants have dealt with constant 15-25 mph winds since they sprouted, a heat wave that most of the world felt sucked hard, and then these wonderful down pours that have been so strong before that they have caused a leaf tear or 4 but that’s just normal weather anymore lol. They have become some resilient mofos because of it though. Didn’t realize this rain was going to be this strong or I would have moved the 5 gallons and 10 gal ones without scrog nets if I had. I do have a garage I’ve used a few times especially the first month.

Freshly Fimmed

Just tried out fimming on my 2 Heka (Aero x Cap Junky) testers from Grimm bros one of my Durban Cake testers by Purple Caper and 1 of my Grimm Glues also by Grim Bros. I think it went fine I used my clean thumbnail to do it and got about 75%-80% off them cleanly, well pinched like I read your supposed to. They were growing really good and healthy so I figured hey why not poke the bear 😆 I’ve actually had really good luck so far for my first grow. I have read everything I can to try to not screw it up but I also made sure I started with a good medium of 65% Happy Frog, 25% perlite, and 10% coco coir I buffered with cal mag by mixing lime and Epsom salt which I let sit for 24 hrs with the coco coir before washing and mixing it in but I know some of the slurry got mixed in as well that didn’t dissolve. I also mixed in a 20 ln bag of worm castings making a total of 100 gals of living super soil that’s been super forgiving. Please if you guys have any tips I can use I am also growing 5 Blimburn Fat Bastard autos entering their third weeks of flowering finishing their stretch.

LST to the Max

So this is my first time growing and I wanted to do it right. I got some LST clips, soft coated wire, vinyl tape, tomato cages, a scrog net and garden stakes so I could keep my stuff low but yield like a boss. This is what I’ve been able to do so far and I don’t think it’s terrible for my first time when all I’ve had to go off is the hours of reading online. The first pic is my first set of Fat Bastard autos undermy make shift scrog net held up by a broken cement sun dial pillar and tied to the banister. The second and third pics are Fat Bastard autos from Blimburn as well. The fourth pic is a Durban Cake tester I started the first of may inside I am training around in a spiral with a tomato cage and the fifth pic is my other Durban Cake tester from Purple Caper seeds I am training around the rim and then going to bend one set of branches across to the other side and one set to the closest and do the same but the stem on the outside. I have had more fun with training these beautiful plants I have more 12 in all. I just starting using tiger bloom along with the silica I was already giving them to my Fat Bastards since the are just getting into their second week of the pre flower stretch. I have given them a very low dose of Cal- Mag twice I did use 10% coco coir in my super soil mix and want to keep it from leaching. That’s about it other than tap water that’s a 7 and I’m not messing with it to bring it down .2 since it’s living soil. Also both Durban cakes are photo.

Some late night scrogging

Finally got one of my scrog nets set up hoping to get the second one set up tomorrow as long as the rope can handle the other nets elastic pull without the chance of the pillar it’s tied to falling over. Yes this is a hill billy rig job but it should work. I had to do it at night because it’s been 95 with 100-105 heat index during the day and I didn’t want to over stress the plants, but if I waited any longer they were going to be too tall for what I have set up. I wouldn’t have anything to attach the rope to.

All my LST clips finally starting to pay off big

I got a box of LST clips a few weeks ago because this is my first time growing multiple plants and ever doing training. They have been a huge help especially with my fat bastard autos where I put a clip between every node back and forth to make it zig zag as it grew. Now it has a stems fat as my thumb and knuckles between every node. The only small problem I had was I left the bottom and first clips on a little too long and they were stuck on the stems pretty good. Still was able to pop them off with enough firm pressure without damaging the stems. My lateral branches on my photos are really taking off but on my autos which are the only ones I did the zig zag since they wouldn’t get as tall anyways, all of their lateral branches are either within a inch of the main top and some are even taller than the main top. I can see now it’s going to be about perfect when it really starts stacking its buds. They’re in their first days of the second week of pre flower or still in the first week for a couple. I have been putting clips on all the branches that reach the top. After the heat wave we are having, 96 degrees with 105 heat index, I will be installing my scrog nets over the 4 of them I have 2 4x4 nets and a rope for one side and the banister on the other to hook the net to. Any suggestions are welcome. 🙏 thanks 😊

Week 1 of pre flower Blimburn Fat Bastard Autos

First time growing. Planted these on may 27th. I was born in 1987 and Austin Powers was one of the best movie dynasties of my time. I also love the fact they have some of the highest THC potency I could find with autos. They have really been tanks for plants only thing I’ve had problems with was some pests and the one with all the damage is the biggest one of the group so I can’t say it slowed it down at all. They have started to smell like a skunk just sprayed down my deck. The stems on these plants are almost as big as my thumb. The only training I’ve done is LST clips between every node once I could fit one on it. The lateral branches are growing great I even have 1-2 where the lateral branches are tellers than the top now and will need bent down too. Simple training with these plants give big results in my opinion they responded almost immediately every time I placed a new clip. If you do try them and use LST clips just watch the stem swelling too much and the clip getting stuck and choking the stem. I had to be super careful when I just removed the first ones I had placed they were stuck tight. They’re in shade because it’s 93 degrees and heat index is over 100.

2nd topping. How many nodes on new tops till you do?

I want to top this Durban cake one more time. I have topped it once but how many nodes do you let the new tops get before topping them again. Also should I top the second highest lateral branches too one already got topped after the first node on accident so there is only 1 other branch in that node if so.

Heat index of 105 today

This is going to suck 105 degree heat index for 3 days here in Ohio. I am hoping it doesn’t slow down my fat bastard autos pre flower stretch. Otherwise they took the 95 degree heat index today like champs but it had rained for a couple days prior.

Caterpillars are the devil.

I was wondering what was going on with this gorilla z auto sprout I thought the leaf had just had a genetic flaw and didn’t form right. Then I walk out today and see 2 new little bite marks and I am like wtf. So I flip up the dying leaf and a little baby caterpillar starts running for the hills. Needless to say the little shit got dunked into diatomaceous earth and then flushed but this is 4th one I have found in my 12 plant grow and they always do so much damage in so little time. I can’t spray the sprout yet but in the past the diatomaceous earth circle has worked but it can’t stop winged insects from laying their eggs on them. Usually I catch them faster but being a sprout I didn’t want to handle it to turn over the leaves if I didn’t have to.

u/Feisty-Nail-3879 — 2 months ago

Does this happen sometimes?

It looks like when the sprout went to form the middle finger on its first 2 finger leaf it got mis made and there is a line where the leaf didn’t form all the way across it and you can see a gap and it’s hanging down from that point just attached with the vein. First time I’ve had it happen out of my 12 plants but the rest of the sprout looks happy and healthy. Anything to worry about at all?
