Guess my accent
Very raw, unprepared video I found from last week (I’m okay haha). Just curious can y’all guess my ethnicity?

I started talking to a guy through a mutual friend. At first I wasn’t interested didn’t want distractions while applying to med school next year. I even tried to scare him away with some strong feminist takes 😭 But he turned out to be such a genuinely kind mature and articulate guy. He’s a little younger than me but honestly more mature than most people I’ve met.
Because of our religion and our families’ reputations neither of us has really approached people before and the guys who have approached me in past I never really felt like talking to them. Over the past three weeks I slowly started falling for him. We called and I completely fell for his voice and the depth of our conversations and he was showing genuine interest too, always used to follow up and listen to me. I’ve never felt this way before.
Unfortunately my anxious attachment showed up pretty strongly and I think it pushed him away. There were also some misunderstandings and now he’s become more distant and gives me cold replies.
I genuinely don’t want to lose him. I really like him and I think he’s an absolute gem.
What should I do now? Should I give him space or try to clear things up?
Did anyone get accepted in PEI med school this year as PEI resident? Can't find information anywhere
Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice.
I currently have PEI in-province (IP) status and was planning to move to the University of Manitoba this fall for my undergraduate degree. One of the reasons was that Manitoba has a larger medical school class size and I hoped to eventually qualify for Manitoba IP status as well.
Now that Manitoba is placing more emphasis on extracurriculars, and PEI has its own medical school with 20 seats, I’m wondering if moving is still the right decision. I’m worried about giving up my PEI residency advantage.
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

I’ve IP status for PEI and moving to Manitoba this fall for undergrad as before they changed rules I thought it was relatively easier to get into Med school there as the class size is bigger than PEI one and you can get IP status there if you graduate from there. Since they’re going to heavily focus on ECs now I am feeling a bit nervous about my decision of moving there as I might loose my IP in PEI by moving. Should I consider staying here?
Is it a buy today?
I had rhinoplasty 2 months ago and my nose is still very swollen and struggling to see the changes, now the table pictures don’t look good to me either and feel skeptical about it.
I'm a 21-year-old Canadian female in my third year of undergrad, and I've dreamed of both becoming a physician and an airline pilot since I was a kid. I'm genuinely passionate about both careers and I know I'd be happy doing either.
If I lived in the U.S., I think I would've chosen flying without much hesitation because the earning potential is much higher and the pathway to the airlines seems more straightforward. But since I'm in Canada, I'm much more conflicted.
I come from a low-income immigrant family, so financial stability (want to retire my parents) is an important factor in my decision. If I choose aviation, I could potentially start earning within a year after flight training. If I choose medicine, I'd likely spend another 6+ years in school and training before making a physician's income.
I'm very hardworking and confident that I have the ability to succeed in either path. My struggle isn't about capability, it's about choosing the better long-term career for my goals and circumstances.
For those who have experience in medicine or aviation (especially in Canada), if you were in my position, what would you choose and why? I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences.

I'm 21 and building a growth-focused portfolio with a 2-year investment horizon. My plan is to hold these positions for about 2 years , then rotate into new opportunities depending on valuations and market conditions. I have a high risk tolerance and I'm comfortable with volatility.
Current portfolio (~$39,000 CAD):
Total portfolio: ~$39,000 CAD
My thesis is that AI infrastructure, semiconductors, memory, nuclear energy, and digital finance still have strong growth potential over the next couple of years. After that, I plan to reassess and rotate into whatever sectors offer the best risk/reward.
I'd love some feedback
My parents are both amazing in so many ways and that’s what makes this so confusing.
They’ve always taken great care of me and my younger sister (14F). Sometimes I feel guilty wondering if I’ll ever be able to repay everything they’ve done for us in this lifetime.
My mom is genuinely an angel. She’s the most selfless person I’ve ever known but she’s also extremely sensitive. She has spent her entire life giving to everyone else. Her whole identity became being a wife and a mother and she never learned to take care of herself.
My dad is also a good man in many ways. He’s incredibly hardworking, loyal and has had a difficult life himself. His own family never treated him well and he’s carried a lot of responsibilities his whole life. But he has terrible anger issues and a very toxic ego at times.
One day he’s loving and caring and the next he’s a completely different person. He’s broken my mom’s phone, ruined her clothes, spilled things on the bed during fights and emotionally hurt her for over 20 years. She never divorced him because she was financially dependent on him and she just kept sacrificing herself.
I moved to another country alone when I was 16. I worked incredibly hard, got my citizenship and built a life for myself. Financially I could take my mom and my sister in and support them if they wanted to leave.
But every time my parents fight my dad threatens to leave the house forever and embarrass us in front of our relatives. My mom has attempted suicide a couple of times and threatens to kill herself whenever things get really bad. Last night she tried to suffocate herself.
I feel like years of emotional abuse have completely broken her.
The hardest part is that I don’t even know if helping them would actually help. If I tried to bring my mom and sister to live with me I’m terrified that one day my mom would turn around and blame me for destroying the family. Since I was about four years old both of my parents have blamed me for their fights. That stays with you.
My grandmother doesn’t help either. She actually seems to enjoy watching everything fall apart which makes the whole situation even worse.
My little sister is only 14. She never cries. She keeps everything inside and I’m so scared for her.
I haven’t slept properly in almost 48 hours. I’ve been crying nonstop but whenever I cry loudly I’m told I’m creating drama and making a scene.
I feel completely trapped.
I’ve always wanted to become a doctor and spend my life helping people but right now I don’t even know how to help my own family.
I’ve tried opening up to my best friends and even my boyfriend before but both of them eventually used my family situation against me during arguments. Since then I’ve stopped talking about it with anyone.
I don’t even know what I’m asking for anymore. I guess I just want to know if anyone has been through something similar or if there’s any advice for someone who feels responsible for everyone but has no idea how to save them.

I’m 21 and took PCM when I was in hs but now I’ve to take Biology Grade 12 again for my uni and have exam on 24th June. I just landed in India last week and had no clue that my dad registered for it 😭. It’s been a while since I studied Biology. I just need passing marks and get the certificate. It’ll be great if y’all can guide me which chapters are important and if I should watch yt videos or just read the notes available online and do NCERT questions. Any help will be really appreciated 🥹🙏🙏
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think there’s a huge disconnect between how a lot of older Punjabi immigrants see Canada and how many younger Punjabi immigrants experience it today.
Many of the Punjabis who came here 20–30 years ago arrived with families, community networks, lower housing costs, and a very different immigration system. A lot of younger immigrants are arriving alone, moving across provinces for school or work, taking whatever opportunities they can find, and trying to build a life from scratch.
I came to Canada alone when I was 16 (not to any rishtedaar) moved provinces for university, completed my diploma as valedictorian and then moved again to a remote island because it was the best path for my career and PR.
For the last couple of years I’ve lived alone, worked as an accountant, regularly put in 60-hour weeks, survived winters that hit -50, got my PR and recently bought my first house at 21. I also scored in the top 1% on the MCAT and am now finishing my degree before applying to med school.
I come from a privileged family in India and have always had a strong support system back home (my dad had his Canadian pr but had to leave it as he wanted to stay in Punjab and help families of Shaheed Singhs on ground level). My point is that when people talk about international students or recent immigrants as if we’re all lazy, unintegrated, or looking for shortcuts, it doesn’t match the reality I’ve seen.
Most of the young immigrants I know are just grinding. Studying, working, paying taxes and trying to build a future here. There are definitely bad actors, but they’re not the majority.
It’s completely fair to debate immigration levels, housing and policy. But sometimes it feels like people forget there are actual people behind the label “immigrant.” A lot of us came here with hope, worked hard and genuinely consider Canada home so let’s just be kind to each other 🙏
