I've finished or caught up with all of the LNs and Manga's of the anime adaptations in my 3x3 and honorable mentions for months some even years now. (I started watching anime in 2019, got into manga in 2021 and got into LNs around 2022)

And I geniunely enjoyed each and every one of the ones in my 1-13

PS: watching a bunch of different anime and going against the popular consensus doesn't make you different. Whats the point if you dont stay faithful to the series that got you hooked from the start one way or one character or another, characters whose development throughout the story got you invested and the appreciation of the peak performances of their voice actors to try their best in faithfully adapting that specific scene from the manga/LN

I've watched over 500 different anime, manga and LN series combined and consuming tons of different anime hasn't made me change this specific 3x3 of mine for years by now.

I appreciated each new series I've watched but I know I got series that I'll love forever

The X meme/post where it came from

Roxy spent her whole life while being discriminated on everywhere she went in the central continent and especially milis continent for being a demon 😭. She literally never had the chance in her life to practice cooking meal recipes as she always camped out or lived in inns her whole adventuring life before becoming Rudeus wife. Roxy started adventuring at 14 years old after she left the migurd village in the demon continent

she was an adventurer that lived on "quick" income from day long B rank quest that took a day to complete and A rank quest that varied from taking days, several weeks to months to complete. (And that's if there were still quest on the guild quest board btw).

She survived like that for the last 20+ years before she first met Rudeus 😭 and for the 11 years after she left buena village to when she met Rudeus again in the teleportation labyrinth (from K412 when she left buena village. rudeus saved her in in the TP labyrinth in K423).

So of course she could only cook simple meals that only tasted okay Roxy literally never had a fixed place to stay let alone a place that lets her practice cooking more advanced meal recipes in the 51 years she's been alive😭. It was only until vol 13 when she started living in the Sharia greyrat household as Rudeus 2nd wife at the start of S3/Vol 13 where it became her permanent home till the end of the LN.

I understand that the op of the post probably prefers sylphy but they are all best girl!! 💙🤍❤

Also just a little fun fact during Roxy's student days at ranoa magic university, when she was 28 years old she said something like "Even the cheapest lunch set has so many Meat and vegetables!!" (she said with a happy innocent smile while eating as if she was eating a meal that she was highly privileged to eat when it was practically just soup with a bunch of simple boiled meat and vegetables inside it and I dont even think it even had any salt or spices to make it more flavorful)

well for anime only's who dont know. In the world of MT, due to the Laplace war, the human race viewed any unusual hair color like green or blue as taboo. While blue wasn't viewed as harshly as green Roxy still experienced plenty of discrimination in her life.

I'll give Two of many examples from the roxy backstory manga (roxy gets serious chapter 9)

- one time during Roxy's first few years of adventuring she ran into and decided to guide back a beastman girl home to her parents from wind port to Millishion the capital of the Milis continent. When Roxy was just asking for directions to the milis cathedral from a local vendor, the old man was initially about to say "Yes welcome!" then instinctually the moment he saw her blue hair he said "PRETTY DAMN ARROGANT TO START ASKING THINGS WITHOUT BUYING ANYTHING THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH YOU DEMONS!"

And as if Roxy couldn't catch a break once they got near the milis cathedral and the girl's house One of the guards there thought she was kidnapping the beastman girl and forcefully put the pole of his spear to her neck. Roxy was trying to tell the guard he got it wrong, the guard silenced Roxy not believing anything. The beastman girl vouched for her confirming that Roxy was just helping her go back home the guard let her go and tossed Roxy to the ground.

Roxy is on the ground coughing, the guard pointed to where the residential houses were then told Roxy to get out of his sight, Roxy bowed and thanked the guard for directions while getting up. The guard walked away and started saying with a whispering groan "demons walking around a human country such a fucking eyesore".

The beastman girl's parents were beyond grateful for Roxy bringing their daughter home but Roxy still got disturbed stares from citizens of milis just because she had blue hair and was a demon until the family invited her inside for some dinner and sweet. She was immediately advised by the parents to leave milis especially because people there in general weren't kind to outsiders let alone of any demon race.

So when I watched the start of this episode and Roxy said "its fine I'm used to it" I just wanted to start crying because of that.

ROXY IS BEST GIRL!!💙

(This post was more on made to emphasize Roxy's sense of unbelonging anywhere and being used to discrimination. As one of the few migurd tribe members without telepathy she felt like an outcast even while she was in the place she was born. She set out at 14 years old to see the world and to find a place where she belonged. She faced discrimination one way or another everywhere she went in the central and especially the milis continent. And what makes me sad is that she's used to being mistreated and never found a place where she truly felt like she belonged before she became one of Rudeus wife.)

Roxy really has been through a lot.. but she stays in Sharia with Rudeus and her fellow best girls all living happily together as a BIG family 💙🤍❤

I first watched this anime during the early pandemic around 2020, It was literally one of my first 10 anime.

I binged watched all 24 eps in like 2 days (more like a day and a half) back then.

Then i found time to rewatch all 24 eps again in Aug of 2026 (10 whole years after cour 2 ended) then i got heartbroken all over again that it never got any hopes of a second season.

it was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had watching anime, sure it had its flaws and It was years after the peak of the "battle academy" type anime's so A-1 pictures abandoned the idea of a continuation

But from what i heard vol 7 onward had so much more of its lore, PEAK arcs to show and expand on the other academies before it got dropped by A-1 pictures.

A-1 pictures did the bare minimum at the time, it was given a greenlight, a 24 ep anime adaptation to promote the LNs and it didn't work at the time of Cour 2's End. Which was july 2016.

The LN got 6 more volumes after Cour 2 ended with no noticeable increase in LN copies sold after its anime adaptation. The anime only managing to a bring larger dedicated fanbase that only surfaced during the pandemic when everyone started watching anime. Which sadly was too late for publicity to start at least in hopes for A-1 pictures to agree to the idea of a true Season 2.

based on MAL member counts for A-1 Pictures's produced anime's. Cour 1 has the 33rd most members and 5th most members for all time LN anime adaptations A-1 pictures has done, only behind Sword art, Saekano, Grimgar and Eromanga sensei in this regard.

When i heard to its PEAK OP's again during the rewatch being: Brand new day and The Asterisk war again something in my brain just clicked, nostalgia and heartbreak all over again.

It was taken from us when it was about to show us its much bigger world through the anime. Maybe in another life... another timeline there was a season 3/True season 2 of asterisk war..

I've rewatched the anime and movies well over a dozen times but whenever i rewatch ep 9 of s1.

when Mai-san is in Nodoka's body is Uchida Maaya (Nodoka's VA) actually imitating how Mai talks?

It's much easier to tell the difference in ep 10 because it's more pronounced but in ep 9 that Mai-san impression is so damn spot on

Its so hard to tell the difference between Seto Asami and Uchida Maaya in EP 9

No wonder Sakuta married Nodoka ( *COUGH* their VA's)

Ep 6 of this season was so peak

I love how at 20:41-20:42 of the ep it just immediately pans over to Eris after Sylphy says "I can't wait to see what kind of girl you'll bring home next!"

Mushoku hate is at an all time high and most of the stuff Rudeus gets hated for ISN'T EVEN including the monologues he had and actions he did in the light novel.

If you've read the light novel YOU WOULD KNOW how much detail rifujin put into rudeus monologues, the weird shit does and how much of it had to be cut in the anime.

Rudeus monologues and some of his actions in the LN were so much worse than anything shown in the anime

if you've read the LN's him being a weirdo is just part of his core as a character both pre and post reincarnation from start to finish. Listen I read all 26 Volumes + Redundancy I appreciate Rudeus and his growth as a character but some things you have to understand that's just a part of who he is and the way Rifujin wrote him. People are allowed to dislike him for it but me personally I'm neutral, I dont hate him but I'll never defend or justify the yikes or disgusting monologues and actions he has throughout the story whether its in his past life or his 2nd one in the six faced world.

But back to the main point and I'll give some examples of what monologues and scenes COULD'VE BEEN included in the anime with: Cut content From the adaptation of Vol 13 in S3COUR1

For ep 3: Before showing Roxy and Sylphy the prosthetic hand at home theres a scene where Rudeus goes into the bath that was prepared, Aisha also goes to bathe with him naked then the monologues he has during this scene are SUPER yikes I dont even wanna explain it.

(But yeah thank God Rudeus isn't into Incest *cough* Aisha is though *cough* Ars *cough* Lilia you made Aisha so fucked up passing down your trauma and drilling it into her)

(How the threesome stuff suddenly came up all of a sudden in ep 5)

For ep 4: After Rudeus learned king tier water magic, he goes home with his wives, Roxy and Sylphy are both tired so he thinks to himself he isn't gonna get to have fun with either of them tonight. He tells Roxy and Sylphy they should all just sleep alone tonight.

Then Aisha wants to sleep with Rudeus (platonically like siblings), Norn got Jealous so Rudeus invites Norn too then after he platonically gets into bed with his arms spread out, a sister in each arm he suddenly thinks about wanting a threesome with Sylphy and Roxy while he was platonically sleeping in bed with Norn and Aisha.

And thats when Rudeus first thought of the threesome idea while Episode 5 kind of just portrayed it like Elinalise put the idea in his head in the LN its more like she just solidified his path to it either way Elinalise is the best wing woman.

In summary heres my take on it: Some monologues does show he does reflect and feel remorseful at the shit he's done throughout the story both in his past and 2nd life.

But at the same time THERE'S JUST SO MANY cut monologues he has that are super yikes and if they adapted all of his monologues into the anime it'll just feed the hate most people have for him right now even more.

guys I know why this update with the gacha system change is happening.. its because... we haven't been nice to Arona... the old 200 spark system was perfect but we bullied arona... All these years just because we couldn't get what we wanted... and it led to this... IF WE LOVE ARONA ENOUGH AND GENIUNELY SAY SORRY TO HER MAYBE THEY WILL REVERT THINGS! BACK!! Roxy once marked Rudeus infront of the other Ranoa magic university students, Rudeus and Roxy were walking together across the campus when whispers and excited "kyaa" squeals surfaced from first year girls, they saw their professor with a guy, wondering if he was her husband, one of the girls remarked that he was quite handsome. Rudeus became smug in his thoughts at being called handsome

Roxy shot him a sharp glance while feeling a little jealous, Without warning she went closer to Rudeus, wrapped her arm around his, turned towards the students and flashed them a peace sign.

The girls erupted into excited screams, Later at home Roxy admitted she wanted to make it clear who he belonged to and that she wasn't gonna let some random girls steal him away but looking back ended up being embarrassed on how bold she was.

Rudeus was thrilled at how possessive his wife and Goddess could be, Rudy gives roxy a kiss on the cheek.

So as we know S3 will have 2 cours with 27 eps total

Cour 1 will cover V13-14 (all of K424 and the first half of K425) (Oldeus appears at the end of Volume 14 and that'll probably be where Cour 1 will end, with Rudeus meeting Oldeus and his warnings, gives him the diary)

K424 ends next episode (ep 5) Cliff and Elinalise wedding,

then first half of K425: norn gets a fanclub, Linia and purusena graduate, rudeus becomes a 4th year,

Nanahoshi summons a seedless watermelon from earth, Rudeus goes to the sky fortress to ask perugius about how to treat zenith, Nanahoshi stays with Perugius in the sky fortress, Rudeus goes to the demon continent to ask Kirishika about how to treat Nanahoshi's disease, he fights Atofe. Then cour 1 will end with a cliffhanger with Oldeus appearing and warning Rudeus about Hitogami's deceiving, manipulative nature and plans and THAT FUCKING RAT!! FUCK YOU HITOGAMI!!! anyways he gives him the diary and thats where cour 1 will end

2nd half of K425/V15-17/TURNING POINT 4/S3 COUR 2 coverage

Rudeus kills rat with the magic stone disease, Hitogami manipulates Rudeus into fighting Orsted saying bullshit like "if you kill Orsted I'll guarantee your family's safety" and "Your descendants will ally with Orsted and help kill me which will destroy world" (theoretically but Hitogami doesn't actually know for sure and just lied because he's a self preserving bitch)

With the help of Zanoba and Cliff they make magic armor MK 1

Rudeus ambushes orsted, fights him, ultimately dominated even with the armor but does manage to make Orsted use a lot of mana, the magic armor mk 1 is crumbling and destroyed completely at the end of the fight, Rudeus loses his remaining right arm, Ejects himself from the magic armor, grovels and crawls at Orsted's feet and begs him to spare his family and stop going after hitogami, obviously Orsted says no, Rudeus tries to suicide bomb with an explosion spell, Orsted uses disturb magic, kicks him away, is about to kill him.

Then Eris saves him, Eris stalls orsted while Ghislaine tends to Rudeus, Slphy and Roxy arrive to help rudeus and Slyphy heals him, Eris and Slphy plan to fight orsted while Roxy and Ghislaine escape with Rudeus.

Orsted declares that as long as Rudeus is an apostle of Hitogami he can't allow Rudeus to live, Orsted offers rudeus to become his subordinate after seeing his mana capabilities, magic armor and his immunity to Orsted's curse that makes him fear any and all living things in the six faced world. Orsted says he'll protect Rudeus and his family but cant make any promises but that he'll do his best, Rudeus thinks carefully and agrees to join Orsted and become his subordinate, Orsted heals rudeus, regrows his upper limbs, Orsted gives Rudeus a bracelet that blocks out Hitogami from appearing in his dreams and spying on his life.

(After this Hitogami never appears in Rudeus dreams ever again)

Rudeus informs everyone that he lost against orsted and became his subordinate then Eris marries rudeus, He summons the best and goodest boy of the whole series Leo the holy beast from the great forest, Orsted orders Leo to guard princess Ariel. Then Rudeus begins training to protect himself and his family from Hitogami's future schemes.

And that.... if you need to be reminded is turning point 4 guys (longest turning point in the whole series)

Roxy appreciation post

I read the Roxy gets serious manga in like 12 hours after finishing S2PT2 way back in 2024 and at the time people were flaming Roxy because ppl were still crazy about the 2nd wife thing

But no matter what anyone said I always loved Roxy's character and reading the Roxy gets serious manga made me truly realize what she went through, made me cry and feel sorry for her.

Seeing her animated in s3 again even with the simple wholesome slice of life moments made me really happy especially considering well.. the things that are about to get adapted later in this seasons cour 1 and in cour 2

(I read all the light novels and redundancy so to anime only fans enjoy these wholesome slice of life moments because we're currently in K424 which is around vol 13 of the LN and well lets just say the next 6 years will be eventful.. COUGH! K425 COUGH!)

Rudeus in the real world dies at age 34, dies at 74 in the six faced world which brings him to 108 years of mental age and only roxy is the same age as him if you include add his pre-reincarnation age.

Rudeus basically groomed Eris and Slyphy that's the fact even in S1/V1 he monologued about "raising slyphy to be his ideal girl" back when they were still in Buena Village and did it with Eris at the end of S1C2/V6

Yes he's a PDF and irredeemable morally as he stays a pervert to the end.

But you dont have to like or defend Rudeus.

And you have to understand that Rudeus moral compass is intentionally flawed but in the complete opposite way of another intentionally flawed character morally Reinhard Van Astrea from Re zero

instead of "You're a true hero reinhard and that's all you could ever be"
its "you're a PDF groomer rudeus and that's one thing about you that'll never change"

"Well if the MC is intentionally flawed how are we supposed to enjoy the story?"

• the massive world building and the characters
• Unlike Other Isekai, Rudeus isn't the end all be all of his world, the six faced world and he's more like just an important piece of a grand scale plan which brings me to my next point:
• How Mushoku tensei's story is just buildup and a prologue for the final battle with Hitogami in the void world (LN Vol 26 ends on K430 then timeskips to K481 when Rudeus dies)

According to Rudeus Final vision of the future before he dies. The "real" main casts of the six faced world Akito Takehara is summoned in K500 which is one of the 8 main people that corner Hitogami in the void world (the others being Orsted, Ferris and Lara and 4 or more others), beat him to a pulp, chain him down and seal him forever in the void world making him unable to do anything, trapped there forever with his powers sealed, unable to see what was happening in the world.

So in the end Rudeus did two things right being to keep his family together, Chose to become Orsted's subordinate which ultimately ended with his descendants helping Orsted finally and definitively take down Hitogami and finally brought peace to the six faced world.
