Is it worth getting my education degree when I’m already almost a childcare worker?

I’ll have my childcare diploma somewhere around late this year to early next year depending on when I can finish everything considering my work is self paced and the thing is, I’m just a 20 year old who doesn’t really know what to do with my life and honestly decided to pick up childcare while I can figure out something else to do since I love the idea of working with kids and teaching in the meantime and it certainly beats retail and fast food like everyone else my age. Everyone’s telling me to get my education degree next year since I suppose it makes the most sense considering I’m used to working with kids anyway so it’s lowkey expected of me but I mean…is it even worth it? I just don’t understand slaving away for 4 years with all the student debt that comes with university for a career that doesn’t even pay me much better than what I’ll be getting paid soon. Childcare workers make like 65-75k a year but I hear from a lot of teachers that they don’t even get paid much better. I love the idea of teaching and working with children, I swear I’m not just in it for the money but come on. Im not about to do something if the outcome isn’t any better. I guess what I’m asking is whether things are much better from the teachers side of the fence?

Edit: I just want to state that I’m from nsw Australia for the Americans shocked by the salary lol

Thoughts on owning a meat eater as a pet?

I really want a cat or perhaps even a snake for companionship, my mental health and honestly just wanting someone to care for however i understand I can’t just make them go vegan and expect them to be healthy. What are your thoughts on that?

I can’t tell if I’m bi or not

The thing is, I grew up in a very religious and conservative Muslim household where being queer was NEVER even a thought. I attended Islamic private school where literally everyone was homophobic and even the teachers would threaten to give you a suspension or call home for even the very mention of the LQBTQ. I even remember being called out of class for the principal, vice principal and the head teacher…to question me on things me and my only two friends in that hellhole were discussing ie feminism, abortions, boys…the lgbtq. They picked me because they knew I was the weak link lol. Growing up, it was just rough. When I was about 14, I very first suspected even a possibility of me being queer however I was very quickly shut down on that after my father gave me a talk about how gay ppl all go to hell and that even so much as supporting them would end in me getting kicked out of the religion and sent to hell along with them so obviously, I was HORRIFIED and very quick to shut down my questioning and I even went as far as to push away those two queer friends I mentioned, choosing to sit alone at lunch than be with them. I tried getting along with the religious girls in my grade but I just didn’t like them that much. I’d soon end up leaving that school for public school where I’d meet a certain girl that made the feelings come back as I became weirdly attached to her in a way that just wasn’t platonic. I remember crying to god and praying to make me better but I rly didn’t and I was just very confused. I wasn’t like a lot of the queer ppl ik of who knew they were gay from a very young age, I’ve always been confused and even when I had a bit of a crush on the girl from my grade, I wasn’t necessarily SURE that it was a crush. Anyway my “maybe crush” ended with me spiralling over religion and inevitably leaving it. It’s been a like almost 2 years since then but im still unsure of my sexuality. After i lost contact with the girl, I kinda stopped it with the whole queer questioning…but then I kinda went through a month long period where I was so sure that I was a lesbian. And then I snapped out of it. Idk how to explain it but I feel like this unsurety will never leave me and it’s so frustrating and confusing. I feel like I KNOW I’m into men but I don’t know if I’m into women. This feeling always comes back for like a week to a month or something and then it leaves and I don’t even feel the slightest bit queer and ill go MONTHS full straight and every 50 yrs I can’t help but feel the little doubt creep in and I know there’s not even any point to me putting a lid over it and calling myself straight bc it’ll come back anyway but I also don’t want to call myself bi bc it doesn’t feel right. I get rly scared that I’m gonna end up with a man and wishing I got with a woman or the opposite way around. It’s also worth noting that I still live with my very religious family where I pretend to still be religious and If anything I pretend to be lowkey homophobic at home so I don’t get in trouble. I’ve also never dated anyone or been in love before, man or woman so I don’t even have THAT to look back on. I will say tho, it’s so weird bc whenever I think about men, I think about myself through his pov as though he’s watching me through a screen meanwhile I think about women I think about US. I’ve also known for like god knows how long that I’m sexually attracted to women…it’s just that very recently I learned to accept it. I genuinely don’t even want to have sex with a man unless we’re in a relationship because the idea of casually doing it with men grosses me out but I think I could see myself sleeping with women even outside of a relationship. I think that if I met the right woman maybe I could fall in love with her? But also, I’m just so attached to the idea of being with a man that a part of me just doesn’t want that both logically and emotionally and it makes me question if I’m even queer or not. It’s just so conflicting. I’ve also always hated the idea of moving in with a boyfriend because I always thought he’d just ruin my vibe. Like I’m perfectly fine with having a bf but I don’t rly want him moving in? 😭 and I’ve always thought this but now that I’m thinking about it through a queer perspective, I’d be happy with a gf living with me bc I don’t think of her as ruining my life.

Anyway I’m tired as fuck and ik this is so messy and all over the place and I’m too embarrassed to post this long ass rant on the actual 1.something million follower LGBTQ reddit but I’m not even bothered and I’m just gonna post yolo

Do airlines actually care about clear skin and weight?

I have some acne scars around my face. Im rly good with makeup so I’m sure I could cover anything that needs to be covered although it’s not like I could just make it all fully disappear. There’s only sm I could do. I’m also a little chubby (my bmi is 25) so I’m just kinda nervous that I don’t meet the requirements. I heard that the whole thing about flight attendants having to be rly petite with clear skin is just a myth or at least very outdated but idk. I’d be applying to an Australian airline btw

So…how’s everyone doing socially?

Im considering veganism as I’m still very new to all this however something that rly concerns me is how I’m gonna do socially if I rly do make the switch. I hear a lot of vegans expressing how much they hate meat eaters and I mean valid bc we r evil asf now that I’m doing my education but…the thing is, lowkey most ppl r meat eaters and I don’t rly want to hate EVERYONE and it scares me that Ill subconsciously hold a level of animosity on the people around me even if I don’t realise it. I’ve seen a lot of vegans on this subreddit or on social media in general speaking about this, how they’ve cut ppl out from their life’s and ig that makes me wonder how lonely they must be. I even heard someone use the term “pick me vegans” for vegans that are friends with meat eaters and are kind to them. Not just that but if I did make the switch, I’d probably not want to date a meat eater since itd rly conflict with my lifestyle and belief system so in other words, my dating pool would become practically nonexistent. Before anyone gets angry and downvotes me, claiming I’m stereotyping or that im being selfish to be so concerned about my social life over animal abuse, I just want to make it clear that this doesn’t deter me or anything, it just concerns me because I see a lot of it FROM vegans online. So I’m just curious but how is everyone doing?

Is the Australian meat industry really ethical?

Whenever I talk of the horrors of the meat industry to my family, i keep being told that the documentaries I’m watching are from third world countries and that Australia’s meat industry is highly ethical and that I should just stop worrying and thinking too deep into it but I’m not really sure…Im struggling to find actual research into the Aussie industry so if anyone could educate me on the laws, regulations and practices here, that would be great

How do Mormons feel about poc and how do poc Mormons feel about themselves?

I understand i might come across as offensive to some people but pls bear with me lol. Within the Book of Mormon, passages describe dark skin as a sign of a curse or separation from God which will be lifted after going to heaven…where your skin will no longer be a “curse” anymore as you’ll be white. I’ve met people of colour whom are Mormon however I’ve always felt kinda awkward to ask how on earth they could follow such a book as I don’t want to come across as rude or anything, same as I wouldn’t ask a white person how they feel since I feel like that’s basically accusing them of being racist but hey, this is the internet soooo I’m just curious if anyone could give me an insiders perspective. Do you really think your skin is a curse? And are you seriously okay with that? As for white Mormons, how do you feel about people of colour? Do you think you’re any better than them for not being “cursed” as the Book of Mormon would put it

Is everyone seriously just risking it every time they get behind the wheel after freshly getting their license or am I an idiot

After passing your driving test, is it normal to still be a crappy driver or does everyone actually know how to drive after all that and I’m just an idiot??? Is everyone really just risking it every time they get behind the wheel after getting their license?? Bc istg, I shouldn’t be trusted on the road alone. I feel like even if I do pass my test this week by a fluke, I’ll just crash 2 seconds later once I’m behind the wheel alone…after getting your license, what’s it like at first? From like 1-10 how good was your driving after passing your test? Also any advice for passing my drivers test?
