Does anyone else have family/friends/non-Hydro ppl pressure you about life experiences

So for example, have you had people encourage you to attend your graduation ceremony or other culturally significant life events even though it probably interferes with your symptoms, such as loud sounds.

** This is assuming that you have control to not attend graduation ceremony or have a low key wedding etc…

If you joined the community after s3, is there anything about the early seasons that suprised you.

I’m referring to things that we kinda take for granted by season 5 onwards. For example, I really got into MLP in the hiatus between season 4 and 5. Knowing that “alicorn” actually wasn’t introduced until season 3, and (funnily) Twilight’s coronation wasn’t the first instance of the word, is crazy.

Same thing with Queen Chrysalis. Her name is actually never stated in her debut “Canterlot Wedding” episode. I believe it was a 2013 Toy that introduced her name. But by season 5 onward, everyone says her name like they just always knew it.

And her voice was also so much more interesting in her first debut, but I guess they couldn’t keep that long term.

Is it just me or does G5 seem younger?

I don’t have a Netflix subscription and haven’t seen Make your Mark in full, but from all the people summarizing Make your Mark’s plot line, how old do you think these characters are?

While the FiM show never said how old the main characters are, from the very beginning they were intended to have adult responsibilities, particularly AJ and Rarity. Seemingly being well established in adult life.

There’s something about G5 that makes me think the these characters are teenagers or young teens. Which might be part of the reason why this show seems more familiar to G3.

Modern Disney Misunderstands classic Disney

I think a lot of people misunderstand classic Disney movies in part because they haven’t seen them in a while and take an internet summary for granted.

For example, people probably do this because fairy tales tropes tend to appear when a princess and prince are involved, (which seems quite often).

Take “true love’s kiss”. That trope actually only appears in “Sleeping Beauty”. No other Walt Disney Feature Picture (from his lifetime), includes “true love’s kiss”.

There have been more films after 1966 that include “true love’s kiss than pre-1966. Most notably Ursula comes to mind: “Before the sun sets on the third day, you've got to get dear ol' princey to fall in love with you. That is, he's got to kiss you. Not just any kiss... the kiss of true love.” All other examples are some sort of satire.

** In Snow White (1937), it’s not “true love’s kiss”. When the Queen searches for an anecdote that’d bring Snow White out of the “Sleeping Death”, the book specifies “Love’s First Kiss”. I personally think that Walt and his crew used this language in the Queen’s book to emphasize Snow White’s innocence and naivety.
Regardless of her actual age, I think we can all agree that she looks younger than all the other official princesses (Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Moana).

I think it should be also noted that unlike Aurora (where true love’s kiss is a factor), Snow White was never betrothed to the Prince. So, it’s not like you immediately think of them as soulmates, (compared to Aurora where in the 5 minutes of the movie we learn of their betrothal).

Are there banks that have good HYS?

Hi,

(Referring to the U.S)
Does anyone know of a savings account offered by banks with a good High Yield rate? It doesn’t matter if it’s online or both branch + online as long as recurring transfers aren’t required and no need to open a checking account alongside the savings.

Also, are there good banks that allow you to have mutiple savings accounts or savings pockets (again w/o checking and recurring transfers requirement).

Are some hotels/hotel brands rated differently between on the site and third parties like Yelp, TripAdvisor or Google?

Recently, I heard that the hotel reviews for a credit card travel portal were considerably lower than they used to be. But, as this is a credit card rewards program (earn points = hotel nights), I kinda suspect that the reviews on the travel portal screw negative since people pay for these rooms with “free points”.

I was wondering if other people have noticed more negative reviews on their credit card travel rewards program compared to reviews on websites like Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor… where people likely paid in full.

Does Anyone know why Rapunzel’s VA isn’t the original?

I knew she isn’t Mandy Moore the second I watched the clips of the scene online and after recently watching the full episode and the credits—I’m confirmed.

There’s nothing necessarily wrong with this although I think Disney tries to get the VA’s for animated projects. Maybe not all original/official VAs voiced the other princesses in the original Sofia series. But, I think this is the first time that Mandy hasn’t voiced Rapunzel since Rapunzel is a very recent princess I can’t think of other Disney projects where this wasn’t the case.

Is there a list of Ms. Rabbit’s jobs?

I saw a recent online theory about Peppa Pig and as apart of it the author lists Ms. Rabbit’s job titles. This got me wondering, for a series that’s been running for 22 years now, how many jobs does this rabbit actually have? 50? 100? One per episode? There’s over 350 episodes, does this one rabbit have a different job every day?
