Affordable tailors?

Hi all! I have some dress pants that I need to take the waist in on. I know most tailors are pretty pricey on that type of alteration so I’d greatly appreciate if anyone has any affordable recommendations! TIA!

Premolar extractions?

I’m 12 months into braces now. My orthodontist said if I were to do extractions, then my upper teeth would be pulled back and tilt too much inwards.

I don’t know what to do. I didn’t have an overjet at all before braces, and now I have such a prominent one.

Help with transferring iCloud back up to new iPhone

I recently bought the 17 pro. I was setting up following the assistant manager, and realized the back up it transferred didn’t actually include everything (photo album wasn’t transferred at all, among other things).

I realized I didn’t use the unlimited back up feature for transferring data between iphones. So now the new phone is already set up with missing things.

I found the unlimited transfer option on my old phone (it’s currently backing up in progress).

My question is, once that back up on the old iphone is complete (after however many hours it takes), how do I then transfer that to my new iphone? Am I supposed to reset the new iphone and start from scratch? How badly did I mess up here?

What’s the point of baby talk

Like why not just talk to a baby like a regular person. Sure, the thing can’t talk back to you meaningfully, but wouldn’t it grow up faster and learn ‘smarts’ easier?

And I don’t mean with the intent of raising a little Einstein. Simply imagine talking about your day to it like you would to your friend.

A part of me believes baby talk is actually for the adult who’s doing it. It’s pretty much the only excuse a normal adult can act and talk like an idiot without getting judged.

And OBVIOUSLY, I would never not baby talk to a baby; I will baby it, but I just find it so pointless.

Are humans considered an invasive species?

Surely most endangered species are endangered because of us (directly and indirectly). I’m thinking climate change and habitat destruction, for example.

As in the final bite after doing extractions? Or any websites that do?

I just want to see how much smaller someone’s arch gets. I currently have extremely flared teeth because of braces, and so I want to do premolar extractions but am still hesitant. My ortho isnt of much help, so any advice is much appreciated!

It was an assignment, had to do it late (with my prof’s permission), and they never ended up actually updating the grade.

I already have a decent overall grade. Probably wouldn’t bump me up to a different grade. So is it even worth asking the prof? The assignment was small points wise, but it was a ton of work. Felt like I spent all that time and energy for nothing.

I am so amazed by professors who can so easily present to a class of 100 people and not stutter once. I know that’s their job but it genuinely is so baffling. I don’t know how they do it. Practice, sure, but to some extent it has to just be natural for them in the first place too.

Even for a 5 minute presentation, I get such horrible anxiety and always stutter or say unclear sentences in the moment. I even start shaking a little which is so strange, because that NEVER happens to me in any other scenario. My peers are so eloquent when presenting, even if you can tell they’re a little nervous.

I rarely ever have to do presentations, so I wish I could practice more but I can’t. So the few presentations I do are always so terrible.

I know my professors only pass me for presentations out of pity. A part of me wishes they’d just fail me so that maybe I can force myself that way to get better.

Hi all! I have a file I want to 3d print but I’m not sure where to.

I don’t want to buy a subscription to a place as this is probably the only time I need to print. Googling it, I saw Roadrunner 3D will do stuff but for a minimum spend of $50 only. My project is pretty small so I doubt it’d qualify.

Does anyone else know of any other places? Any suggestions are much appreciated, TIA!

**Without drugs.** And to clarify, I mean aging physical appearance.

Sun exposure is the main thing that comes to mind, but surely there are other ways. Genuinely curious.

Hi all, I’ve recently become really fascinated with automatas and hope to make my own. I found this one video of an automata by Keith Newsted that is really cool but I’m struggling to understand the mechanism of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDqpLE-JkHc

For example, how is the center circle spinning? At first I thought it was hooked up to the handle at a corner, but the back view is shown in which the only point of connection is at the center. Same applies to the spinning yellow circle.

I want to practice my reverse engineering skills so any suggestions would be much appreciated!
