Can see on reddit that people were protesting in college two years ago due to horrible mess conditions and apparently "something fishy going on". I was wondering what was that about and if those issues are solved now.

I personally had almost decided that i was going to do ME in DTU then round 3 me ye allot ho gaya. And i messed up in choice filling so i have some colleges' EE above this once and can't risk getting those. Now my family is telling me to come to IIIT Ranchi so i just wanted an update on the situation.

Oh another question, Are the placements in the Brochure on campus only or both.

Just for my family to fully disallow me to go to Manipal. All this happened yesterday. Suddenly i went from looking forward to moving to Karnataka to probably settling for Mech at Dtu/Nsut.

I don't mind the college or branch but goddamn it hurts to see CS+full scholarship+away from family go away in just the span of a day. All because its a "private" institution.

I'll end up living with this family for another four years maybe.

gonna go to college soon and almost 99% sure ill have a hostel where I'll have to share a room. Hence I'll have to live with other straight men. Now it's not like im obviously flamboyant or anything. The only reason the kids in my school would call me gay is because i had too many female friends. But other than that, behaviour wise im very straight passing.

However i have always avoided straight men the moment they annoy me even a second. When i can talk to funny, understanding and emotionally intelligent girls i never saw the reason to pretend to be friends with a guy i don't enjoy the company of.

And even though I'm very closeted in public i feel at comfort at home where i act however i want as long as my parents aren't in the same room.

But both of these might change soon because not only will i HAVE to be with other guys (who could range from not an enjoyable company to homophobic pieces of shit) for most of my time in college, I'll also lose my personal space where i can just let loose and be 'feminine' for a few hours. Btw im very much not planning to come out in my college years so its not like i can just "be myself" all the time.

Am i overthinking? Any other queer AMAB want to share their experience and help me feel less scared?

Dawg what do i even say. I was thinking that im finally gonna be free tomorrow (MET). I was so excited and suddenly my dad saw a video of Engineering posts in Army/Navy etc. and more everyone's on my ass to not even try any college or something and instead just focus on this.

I have made it clear throughout the years (since i was like 11) that i don't want to go anywhere near the defence field. I DON'T want to do it. Also why i never even considered NDA.

I can list many other personal reasons but ill list the most general ones.

1. Physical Military level training for four years atleast

2. That defense people lifestyle.

3. Whenever i get vacations ill have to come back home. I especially wanted a college in South so i have to visit as less as i can.

4. I am so done living closeted. I was hoping to get some amount of freedom in college but if i go there it'll be a NIGHTMARE. I already was kinda scared of living in a hostel with other guys but this is on another level.

6. I don't want to fucking do it. I don't WANT TO. i have coded for fun since SIXTH grade. i do NOT want to suddenly change that because "money"

He (my brother, currently in third year, struggling to get placed) is so insistent that i HAVE TO do this because there is no guarantee to even get a low paying job in corporate whereas this would guarantee a job nonetheless a really high paying one.

i know that to a lot of people this sounds like a dream but in my own personal case that is a nightmare.

However all three of my family members are on my ASS About this. My brother even yelled that if im so insistent about not doing this i should "deny it when i have an offer letter in my hand while knowing that i am not getting any good colleges". Im sorry i just don't want this.

But the thing is that this isn't a "just deny when the offer letter comes" situation. You're asking me to waste a much awaited academic break after two years (many more actually ive been a "topper" since 4th-5th class and i know it doesn't MATTER but there has been constant academic pressure since that young). Im so pissed off rn.
