PRINTER?! He Hardly Knew ‘Er! - Politix

>Jon Ossoff says he has no interest in running for president in 2028. But between fundraising prowess and narrative shaping and attention driving, he’s doing a better job of it than just about anyone else in the Democratic Party.

>In this episode, Matt and Brian discuss:

>The Natalie Harp ploy, and how Ossoff yoked national attention to Donald Trump’s broader degeneracy;

>Whether Ossoff provides (finally!) a template for the moderates-who-fight synthesis we’ve been promised;

>Unanswered questions about how much of this glow up is luck, and whether Ossoff’s actual record will hold up in a presidential primary, if he run and has a left-wing opponent.

>Then, Democratic Party officialdom has pulled back together pretty well after bruising primaries in Michigan and Wisconsin. But on the fringes, influential progressives and moderates continue to take potshots at the nominees they were hoping to beat: progressives at David Crowley in Wisconsin; moderates at Abdul el-Sayed in Michigan. What are they thinking? Could Bernie Sanders and AOC tamp down the cheap-seat heckling from the left? Could Chuck Schumer snuff out big-money anti-el-Sayed activism in the center? And where will moderate, pro-Israel Jewish voters take their political resources if they leave the Democratic Party, but have no home in the increasingly Groyperified GOP.

>Further reading:

>Brian asks why more Democrats don’t sound like Ossoff specifically on the Iran war question.

>Matt on the differences between the left-wing insurgency and the progressive establishment.

>Natalie Harp: More than Trump’s “human binkie.”

Fangame Marathon 2026 Youtube Vod Playlist

Happened 3 weeks ago but didn't get a thread so I'm making one now.

This is the marathon that used to just be the many 'I wanna be the guy' style fangames, but has now branched out to also include fanmade mods or levels for other games.

The youtube channel also has playlists for the marathon going back to 2015.

Woke Two: Cancellation Boogaloo?! - Politix

>Woke Two: Cancellation Boogaloo?!

>What to make of the progressive rethink of Woke One.

>Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders have conceded to the excesses of what we must all now call Woke One. But the concession, and that characterization of it, raise some obvious questions.

>In this episode, Matt and Brian discuss:

>What was Woke One;

>Which aspects of it do progressive leaders now concede were “crazy”;

>Why did it happen in the first place?

>Then, how relevant is any of this for near-term politics so long as Donald Trump is in power wrecking the economy? The country keeps losing jobs (or putting up extremely week monthly jobs numbers). Congress is about to give Trump more power to impose tariffs. And there’s no clear offramp to the war in Iran. Are Republicans simply fucked? If so, why hasn’t the war been a bigger political disaster for Trump? Could Democratic leaders forge a factional truce around a midterm-campaign promise to end the war next year? Or is it going to be 2007 all over again?

The Search for an Exciting Moderate - Pod Save America

>What does a positive vision for the center-left look like? Can moderation still excite the Democratic base?

>Matt Yglesias, who writes the Slow Boring newsletter and hosts The Argument podcast, talks to Jon about his vision for the Democratic Party and why he believes more Democrats need to embrace heterodoxy.

>The two discuss how the policy debate could play out in the upcoming presidential primary, the role charisma and attention-getting play in politics, and which Democrats are best positioned to win in 2028.

Matt tweets:

>I went on Pod Save America to discuss my plan to save America by nominating a presidential candidate who has views on cultural issues that voters agree with.

What is your opinion on the Celeste Skill Rating google sheet?

I saw someone link this but searching the subreddit it seems there has been very little discussion. It's just a list of mods organized by year and difficulty that you can mark as completed and it challenges you to beat X of Y maps in each group. There is also a superside page for the 250 best mods.

My question is what do you think about this? Have you used it? Will you start using it? Is the superside a good list of the best mods? Would following this spreadsheet be a good way for someone new to celeste mods to get into them?

Politix Ep135: Medicare For Kumbay'all

The full podcast is available for free on youtube this time, unlike the usual where only the first half is free.

>What if the Democratic establishment could take the wind out of the sails of the left wing insurgency by…giving in to progressives on their most morally resonant and popular issue?

>In this episode, Matt and Brian discuss:

>The moral and political advantages of Medicare for All as an abstract concept, and how health care had become the motive force driving the growth of the Sanders movement;

>Why no plan to open up Medicare to all beneficiaries has ever become law, and who’s principally responsible;

>How the Bernie Sanders plan came into existence, and what it would take to get a version of it enacted without accidentally blowing up the health care system.

>Then, even if this is a good idea on the merits, would it serve the political purpose of dialing down the factional war? Do progressive insurgents want single payer health care or do they want the issue to run on? Do they want policy wins or do they want to take over the Democratic Party? Is another truce, like the one Joe Biden forged in 2020 with Sanders and his allies possible? And would it hold even if a consensus left-center agenda didn’t drive Democrats back into full control of government?

>Further reading:

>WE HAVE A YOUTUBE PAGE NOW! You can watch this episode in full there, and we’ll be rolling out new subscription options over the coming weeks. Hit like, subscribe, and all the other buttons.

>Brian’s original case: Why the Democratic establishment should surrender to the left on Medicare for all.

>Matt’s blueprint for a center-left counterinsurgency.

>Greg Casar: “In the past, there were some progressives, including people I’ve been friends with for a long time who used to say, I’d rather see you lose righteously than win politically and strategically. And I’ve learned to respectfully disagree with those people. We can’t afford to lose anymore because the cost of losing is just so high.”

The Biden legacy: A ranking of failures - The Argument

https://youtu.be/omdTF5rxvXI

>What was the worst part of the Biden presidency? The Bidens are back in the news, from Joe's New York Magazine profile to Jill's new memoir, and Democrats clearly wish they would go away. So Jerusalem Demsas and Matthew Yglesias do the thing the party keeps avoiding: they rank the worst parts of Joe Biden's presidency, from the economy and inflation to immigration, Israel and Gaza, and the decision to run for reelection at all. They also get into the Kamala Harris pick, the contempt for economists that defined the administration, and why "the economy was actually great" was never going to be a winning message.

Talos Principle 1 Reawakened Workshop Puzzle Spotlight

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2806640/view/696514211055929174?l=english

>Today we are highlighting another mod by Shlam which is called Escape From The Pit Reawakened

>If you've been craving a narrative-driven experience that ties directly into the expanded lore of the Talos universe, this campaign is an absolute must-play.

>You take on the role of Azrael, one of nine "demons" condemned to the darkest, most hidden code of the system. Set in the aftermath of Uriel's famous rescue mission in Road to Gehenna, Elohim is offering you one final chance at redemption. The catch? You must first rescue your fallen comrades who are locked in a realm completely beyond His reach.

>To achieve full completion and uncover the highly thematic ending, you'll need to hunt down a staggering 90 sigils.

>It's also a beautiful example of community collaboration. With custom mechanics by Nazario92, aesthetic design by Chamdresser, fresh assets by DarkyPL, and rigorous testing from a whole squad of Workshop veterans (including Elyon, Dayo, HardyP, Mr Pipicz, and Kleinba), this project is a true team effort.

I saw this news post and thought it looked like a big project so why not share it here. Maybe someone will be interested in it.

Seventeen thoughts on Graham Platner - Matthew Yglesias

>All of politics Twitter and several group chats I’m in have been buzzing all day about this Wall Street Journal scoop revealing that during the early phases of Graham Platner’s Senate campaign, his wife, in the spirit of doing self-oppo research, shared that she’d caught her husband texting with other women. And checking out the mailbag this week, I saw we got a bunch of Maine Senate questions. So I thought that rather than write a bunch of tweets, I should compose some thoughts and share them here.

Sudokuvania and Sudokoid: uncover a huge metroidvania map and boss fights in the latest of these giant logic puzzles - Thinky Games

https://thinkygames.com/news/sudokuvania-and-sudokoid-uncover-a-huge-metroidvania-map-and-boss-fights-in-the-latest-of-these-giant-logic-puzzles/

>

>There's a new craze in the world of paper logic puzzles: taking after the metroidvania genre of videogames, ambitious creators are making huge, sprawling sudoku puzzles that you slowly uncover and learn new mechanics as you explore. These giant logic grids start as mostly covered up grey "fog of war" tiles with sections revealing themselves and opening up as you fill in the puzzle and place numbers correctly.

I made a post about sudokuvania a while ago when I played it. Now it is officially a genre of thinky games.

Free Browser Game recommendation: Pull Chain

https://steven-miller.itch.io/pull-chain

This was the thinky game discord's spotlight game for this month, so I thought I would try it. Nice game so far! Hasn't been mentioned here yet so I guess I will do it.

It's a top down game where you control a lizard and have to get to the exit. The gimmick is that you are pulling a light ball on a chain behind you. The mechanics of the chain and light ball get used for puzzles!
