I may have promoted my fic a while ago, but I have been overwhelmed by my own ideas and I wasn't sure how to properly tag this work or what sort of warnings I should apply because there is a lot going on

To summarize: this is a TEKKEN fanfic, taking place within an alternate universe where almost everything is the same(I may change some events along the timeline to give it proper spacing between each game) except for the Devil Gene mechanics, which I will elaborate for the sake of understanding a little of my worldbuilding.

The Hachijo clan(led by Kazumi) was known as devoted worshippers of Azazel, the first progenitor to Devil Gene that protects them from dangerous threats, helping the cult survived for generations. Until one day, a power shake-up happening in Japan, and for the sake of her cult's survival, Kazumi married to Heihachi Mishima...only for him to commit genocide on her and her entire clan anyway.

Many knows what the Devil Gene can do: super strength, demon wings, laser eyes. Basic supervillain bullshit. What they didn't know, is that only women carried the Devil Gene. And that goes to every member of the cult. All women. The power only preys on men. Dangerous men.

So when Kazuya carried it, the gene activated after his body was thrown into a volcano. The attempts of resurrecting Kazuya gave him a female form, and only reverted to his original form after...preying on men.

That is however, until we get to Jin. Almost the same perk setup, except Jin...was too deep in the closet. Creating a Devil counterpart that looks like a violent but helpless and paranoid woman.

I've been obsessed at working with materials and designs so I want to give this a try.

Just in case you asked, the big scar was relevant to the story

So there was this tweet about Harada talking about Tekken characters and how they speak. And well, just like English, the Japanese scripts will have different dialects for every character. For some reason this interpretation of dialects were lost in translation to other languages.

Say, Asuka was openly stated that she has Kansai accent, which is exclusive to the Southern part of Japan. The English equivalent to that is American Southern accent, say New Orleans or Louisiana.

I remember one that is about Alisa's Japanese being a mashup of multiple dialects combined in a single sentence, which is also—unfortunately—lost in translation. Which means, if she ever decided to speak English, it will be the equivalent of "autistic" accent. Someone autistic(or neurodivergent in general) learned their speech through mimicking conversations from other people, but most of the time it wasn't from real time interactions and more like mimicking conversations from whatever piece of media they liked because it's less stressful for the brain, creating unique accent that feels eloquent—or in some cases—portrayed as almost robotic.

The Williams sisters could've gotten some Irish accent, but they speak American... For some reason?🤔

Aight, you guys seem to like my Jin design breakdown, so lemme give you my other design breakdown on my personal favorite Tekken 8 design: King

The first thing I noticed in King's design is the coloration of his pants and boots. He was known for his blue and yellow accents, but this time they add a touch of asymmetry in the colorations. Blue kneepad on yellow boots then yellow kneepad on the blue boots, and suddenly noticing the boots were packed—and I mean—PACKED with glitter.

Never in my history of watching WWE on TV prepared me for a guy who was packing his boots with glitter. That's a fucking mess to clean, but I appreciate that he wants to go over the top this time. Add the accessories, an iridescent cape, and his animations with the mic, and we have an ultimate showboat.

This design is what I feel aggressively Mexican, but specifically for the accessories and the cape. This is where I tell you about the second image on the slide, because that fella was an Aztec deity called "Tepeyollotl"(Heart of the Mountain).

Otherwise known as the "kayfabe"—or rather, a fursona—for Tezcatlipoca(Smoking Mirror). Whenever he's in the mood of being nice—and I mean when the sun rises up—he would wear the jaguar skin as a disguise to help people, and no other gods would suspect who he was or what he did. The people may know, but they probably just kept playing along.

Because guess what? It is very insulting to ask any Mexican pro wrestler to take the mask off. They're VTubers before VTuber is a thing.

The iridescent cape immediately reminded me of Tezcatlipoca, as it referenced the obsidian mirror he used to shapeshift as whatever the hell he wants. He was also known to be depicted with many adornments on his head, some of which were carved from abalone shells. Very Aztec warrior of him. The addition of neon blue and purple compliments the yellow of the mask, getting your eyes distracted from the muscles and pointing directly to the head.

I recall the discourse around Roger skipping one game because of PETA the other day, and the thoughts kept lingering in my head when you saw the bio and that big mama is 6ft tall.

If some of you have watched MoreParz, you know that you do not underestimate these roos.

6ft tall is the low end for mama roo. Kangaroos IRL can be much bigger(the biggest variant, assuming Roger Jr. was a red kangaroo, grows up to 9ft tall) if it's a male.

They can jump up to 10ft and their recorded top speed was 70km/h(idk speed limit in American. Let me know in the comments). Their kicks are strong enough to—in Heihachi's words—snap your bones like a twig.

PETA also ignored that the roos shared the same bite force as the bear in the same roster. And I'm pretty sure every Aussie will share warnings not to approach kangaroos near any sort of waters, cuz they're strong enough to headlock you and drown you in that water.

For the Filipinos in my audience, I didn't make this because they are "better" designs. I only make this within my sensibility as a fellow SEAsian(I'm Indonesian) with a bunch of Filipino friends I interviewed(and within a whole week of research as well) for the sake of making all of this happen. I understand if you prefer the original concept, but consider this as "what if" scenario if she ever gets added to Tekken 8 as I help you introduce my own take on the character.

I have this take after looking at the fandom Wiki and saw her fighting style being listed as "Eskrima-based", yet it is lacking the weapon that makes it...well, Eskrima. So, I added the sticks, while also researching the culture behind this weapon and martial arts surrounding it. It brought me to Cebu, which is also the home of another Filipino national hero: Lapu-Lapu

I'm sure you've noticed the weirdly placed tattoos. That is due to my other inspiration, Apo Whang-Od. Otherwise known as the eldest tattoo artist known to mankind. It was quite a rare sight to see women with tattoos—especially in pop culture media—that wasn't associated with either witchcraft or criminal acts. The tattoos on the chest were there as part of their rites of passage, with similar traditions applied in some regions of Indonesia. This specific outfit took place after Josie was enlisted as a Tekken Force soldier until she was instructed to betray her own people and demolish her own home country as they refused to volunteer in "The King of Iron Fist Tournament". Faced by a very sadistic choice, she choose to volunteer herself for the tournament.
