Wool Trouser recommendations?

Wool Trouser recommendations?

I'm a guy with a fuller seat and thighs. Typically wear a 38 or 39 waist and 34 inseam, and prefer a 10-11" leg opening at the bottom. My current favorite pants are the Strong Guy cut from Naked and Famous denim. I'm starting a new job soon that is office-based, business casual dress, and I'm picking up a couple of pieces to get my wardrobe up to speed.

Does anyone know where I could find a pair of trousers similar to those pictured? This pic is from Nordstrom, the pants are JW Anderson brand. I've tried a couple vintage pairs from eBay but they're always very tapered compared to what I'd like. I prefer a texture like the one shown but would also consider a heather grey color.

Anyone wearing Harionago?

Hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone is rocking the Harionago drop yet. From the website, it seems unclear whether or not this fabric is sanforized/preshrunk. It seems like it is because usually they are specific when it's not but I'd love to hear a better answer and see some fit pics!

Super excited! Did 100+ miles already today because I couldn't stop smiling. I was very close to ending up with a DSG GTI but as soon as I saw this car in person and drove it for the first time I was sold. The DSG could never be as fun as the manual in the SI.

11th Gen, Wraps?

Hi all,

Getting close to pulling the trigger on an 11th gen in Urban Grey. I love the color but I'm interested in exploring a wrap to help preserve the paint's longevity and try out a fun color. I'd love to hear about your experiences wrapping an 11th gen. What color did you pick, how much did it cost, how has it held up?

Thanks!

First Pair Sizing Help - more detail below

I posted earlier but finally had some time to add some more detail. Hoping someone will be able to help me out. Included are some photos of me in a tag size 36 True Guy in Indigo Selvedge. I picked this pair and size based on measurements of my current favorite pair of jeans (non-raw/selvedge generic Wrangler relaxed cut). I am 6'3, 250lb. Those jeans measure as follows after a couple days of wear:

20" waist (definitely too loose and bags up on me, I'm closer to a 19"/38" at the true waistline)

13.5" rise

13" thigh

9" leg opening

34" inseam

I thought for sure the tag 36 true guy would meet these needs and actually be a little roomier (see size chart attached). As you can see in the pictures however this pair is absolutely glued to my butt and thighs to the point that it is near impossible to walk, let alone ascend some stairs or sit on a chair.

After measuring these the same way as my other jeans, I found that the thigh and knee measurements are around 1 inch off from what the size chart said. This may explain the tightness of this pair.

I have already filed for a return, but I'm now conflicted between the following:

  1. Try another pair of 36 True Guy and hope they are manufactured closer to the top end of the tolerance

  2. Jump up to a 38 True Guy (most likely option)

  3. Try a 38 Strong Guy

For context, I planned on wearing these jeans daily, both to the office (business casual with loafers, wingtips, or service boots) or just out and around (with sneakers or clogs). This is what drew me more to the True Guy as opposed to the wider leg of the Strong Guy.

Any advice would be appreciated, as it seems the cuts and styles I want in my sizes are near sold out by now.

Thanks!

First pair sizing help

Got my first pair, True Guy in Indigo Selvedge, in a tag size 36. As I'm trying them on, I'm seeing they fit pretty well in the waist and length but that's about it. Thighs, seat, and knee are definitely too tight. After checking against the size chart, it seems that the jeans are almost an inch small in almost all dimensions! I think I'm going to have to send these back. Does anyone have experience exchanging for a larger size and tailoring the waist down to their true size to fit over larger butt/thighs? Or perhaps going with Strong Guy instead? Thanks!

First pair question

Hey y'all, looking at getting my first pair of N&F denim. I've never owned selvedge before, just some pairs of Wranglers and Levis ive liked. I tend to like rigid/non stretch/100% cotton pairs the most as they hold their shape through many wears and don't tend to blow out/rip as often on my 6'3 250 pound frame.

I think the True Guy is the fit I will be going with, but I wanted to hear from people who own one of the following:

Blue Haze

Forbidden Fruit

Stretch Selvedge

Or other similar material.

How do you find the stretchiness of the material to be? Is it overly elastic or closer to a rigid cut? Have you successfully tailored the waist on them at all? (I tend to go for a bigger cut to compensate for my thoughts/glutes and need to bring in the waist to avoid bunching). Just unsure about pulling the trigger on a stretchy pair.

Thanks!

A question for recent buyers.

Hey guys,

I'm cross shopping the 11th gen Si right now against the VB WRX and the MK8.5 GTI. Whichever car I choose will end up being my daily, even through Upstate New York winters. I know this is a pretty commonly compared group of vehicles, so I figured I'd ask - for those of you who shopped a similar selection and ended up in an Si, what did you like more about it than the WRX/GTI?

One thing for me is the interior. The WRX (objectively) has by far the worst interior with its giant iPad. The Si and GTI feel far more premium and "livable" to me, and the seats were nicer. However it's hard to deny that the AWD and extra power of the VB would be nice for driving daily in my area.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

T-shirt options

Hey all! I really like the look of the Bronson MFG athletic cut tees, but I'm just outside their XXL range I think. At 6'3 250, I typically like shirts with ~24-25" pit to pit/chest and 29-30" length. The XXL size meets these criteria but reviews say these tees tend to shrink quite a bit. Just wondering if anyone around my size has experience with these shirts or can offer an alternative with similar structure, construction, and price? I like the Carhartt K87 and Comfort Colors 1717 as well. Thanks!

Extended Mid/Reduced Forward options?

Hey guys,

I'm 6'3 with a 34" inseam. I've had my 2001 sportster for a little while now and have been doing some light touring with it (~100-150 mile days). It's been great, but I notice that in the twisties the mid controls that are on it can get really uncomfortable. I'm hesitant to go all the way to forwards as I really enjoy having my feet somewhat under me and being able to throw the bike around. Are there any readily available options out there for an extended mid/reduced forward control kit? I can find them for some of the newer bikes but having a hard time locating for my '01.

Thanks!

Restoring used ostrich boot shape?

Eyeing up a deal on a used pair of JB Dillon Ostrich boots, but they're pretty beat from a shape perspective. I know the usual procedure for leather is to clean, condition, stuff/shoe trees and maybe steam, but is there any special precaution to be aware of for ostrich boots? Thanks!
