Naming my girl has me second guessing everything

I’ve posted twice here already asking about thoughts on Hadley and some other names, but even though I like it I never really was 100% certain. I started really liking the name Charlotte. I’ve actually always loved the name since I was little, but I only just now started really considering it for my baby girl. I’m heavily leaning towards it now, but I’m worried it’ll be too popular. It’s apparently the #1 girls baby name in my state last year, but out of 57,000+ live births only 224 were named Charlotte. Is it crazy I’m even taking that into account? I don’t want her to be one of 12 in her grade, but I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a common name. Ugh.

Thoughts and comments or do I just sound crazy?

Girls names help

So we just found out we’re having a girl and I thought I had some names I liked, but I’m honestly second guessing everything. Me and my husband have total opposite name preferences. We both want a name that works for an adult one day, but we’re having terrible finding one we both like.

So far his list only contains- Scarlett, Samantha, and Annika.

I would much prefer a family name or something classic sounding / in the 100 year rule. My list- Hadley, Mabel, Junia, Amelia, Lydia.

Some middle names I like are Quinn and Mae. Our last name is Darling if that helps

Please pick apart my baby name idea- Hadley Rose.

Hadley feels so overused now but I love its meaning. Our son has a family name, if our next baby is a boy I already have another family name chosen. All the good family girl names are taken (unless I want a baby Myrtis). My mom’s name is Heather and my MIL is Rosemary. Hadley means “field of Heather” and thought it’d be a cute way to still honor family. I just hate how modern and basic it sounds. Please give me all your criticisms and alternatives

13 month old sleeping 14+ hours through dinner. Advice needed

I copied my same post from another sub because I’m needing some feedback.

So we just got home yesterday afternoon from a week at the beach. Admittedly, he didn’t get near as much sleep as usual while we were down there. He sleeps roughly 14 hours total a day between night time and naps. Yesterday he went down for a late nap at 5 pm, which I know is dumb but he was exhausted from the drive, and stayed asleep until 7:30 am this morning. He didn’t want to nap at all today despite the effort and finally went down for a nap around 4:30. It is 6 pm now and he’s still asleep. He ate a lot at breakfast and lunch and had a little snack earlier, but I’m concerned about him missing dinner twice now. Would y’all wake him up or let him sleep? My gut says if he’s sleeping this much he needs it, but I also don’t want it to form a bad habit.

12 month old biting himself, how to help him stop

My boy is 12 months and already has 14 teeth. When we’re in the car he starts biting himself when I’m not looking. I give him plenty of toys, a pacifier, and play songs he likes every car ride whether we’re driving 3 minutes or 30. By the time I get him out he has awful looking bite marks that are bright red and indented, today he but himself hard enough they looked more like welts and were raised. I don’t know what to do to help him. Please give me any and all advice you have

How many shirts to pack?

How many shirts would you pack for your 1 year old for a 7 day beach trip? There is a washer and dryer in our unit, but the less laundry I have to do on vacation the better. This is our first trip out of town since he was born so I’ve never had to pack for him. He feeds himself and gets messy, but I don’t want to pack double the amount of clothes if I don’t have to. I’m thinking one nice/cute shirt for each day, then maybe 3-4 extra t-shirts? Am I overthinking this? How much do y’all pack?

12 month old biting himself

Advice needed. My 12 month old has recently started biting himself in the car. I don’t notice him doing it, but when I get him out if the car seat there’s little bite marks all over his arm. He doesn’t cry in the car but already has 14 teeth with about 4 of them still pushing through. I’m not sure if it’s out of boredom or teething or what but it’s hard enough where the marks stay for a few hours. Any advice on how to fix this?

2nd Baby, feeling movement very early?

Pretty much the title. I’m 12 weeks and some change, this is my second pregnancy, and I think I’ve felt small baby movements the last couple days. The first day I kept telling myself it was just gas bubbles, but now every time I get real still I can feel tiny movements around my abdomen. They’re very subtle, but still noticeable. Anyone else feel something similar early?

Things you didn’t know were impossible until having kids…

I’ll go first.

Cleaning up your toddler’s playroom/playpen/wherever you store their toys while their in the room with you.

Drinking anything with a straw without little grabby hands coming for it.

Okay now your turn!

My co-sleeping baby just spent his first night alone!

My boy is almost 1 and has been cosleeping with me since he was just a week or two old. We recently found out we’re expecting #2 and I knew I couldn’t keep the cosleeping up and needed to get him in his own room before baby got here. We tried a few weeks ago to sleep train to no avail and he quickly ended up back in bed with us. We started again this week after a couple days of some crying from him and anxiety on my side, he just put himself to bed and slept 12 hours in his own bed. It feels like a little miracle and I just needed to type it out. 💃🏻🕺🏻💃🏻🕺🏻💃🏻-> dance party for myself because my baby’s still sleeping.
