New cage smell?

Built this new catio cage for my pigeon yesterday. It is built with water based fir wood, but it has a VERY strong smell and the entire floor smelt like rosemary. I’m letting it sit outside for a couple of days I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience and how long would I need to leave it out before it’s safe for my bird. The brand is PETCOSSET.

New cage question

The first picture is my current set up for my single Pigeon, but I was thinking of getting him a bigger cage, I found this cage on marketplace and I was wondering if it would be a good fit or is it too tall? I’m pretty sure the perches are adjustable so I can make them further apart, and I could also add the perches he has in his cage already,, i’ve also only had him for a month so I don’t know if it’s good to get him a new cage yet.

Tips on How to get pigeon pants on scared pigeon

I’ve had my Pigeon for about a month now and he’s still getting used to some handling, but he’s absolutely terrified when I grab him and try to put Pigeon pants on him.. I don’t want to traumatize him and reverse all the progress we have made with handling, but I really can’t have him pooping all over the room anymore because he’s out for around 10 hours a day and he gets poop everywhere 😭

How to get Pigeon back in cage

I have had my Pigeon for a little less than a month now and he loves spending time out of his cage, but he’s not used to handling yet and it’s very difficult to get him back in the cage once it’s night time.. the first couple days I left him in his cage and he seems comfortable once he is in there and he eats and drinks fine when he’s in the cage. I’m trying to get him used to some handling but every time I have to get him back in the cage I feel like I’m just traumatizing him because I basically have to chase him back in the cage… 😔

Is this normal

I just got a pigeon a couple days ago and I’m letting him explore my room, but he comes across my socks on the floor and rubs against them strangely, is this behavior normal or should I remove the socks from him?

Safe way to keep room smelling fresh

As the title says, I am looking for a natural and safe way to keep my birds room from smelling, obviously aside from daily cleaning and replacement of foods and waters. The room doesn’t smell bad I would say, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips that helped them to make the room smell fresh without using toxic sprays or candles?
