I know we all think it, but I worry for the future.
As I guess most of you are, I'm mainly a console gamer. I have no qualms about console or PC wars. I like all, play all, and know that all have pros and cons. To start, I'm 24, and I started gaming for the first time in 2015 when my dad gave me his Xbox 360. I've always loved the comfortability of sitting on my couch or bed and playing.
Since we are going to be sold a "license" to the game, I can't make a decision about where to turn. Being sold the license, they have the ability to revoke all access at any time, and we won't be able to own. To me that brings up a few questions. What constitutes someone's license being revoked? Is it their behavior, and will online games need constant player eval and license eval to ensure that person does or doesn't deserve it? If the access to the game is terminated for everyone, will we receive a refund?
After the disc termination, prices for PlayStation discs will surely skyrocket, and so will disc edition consoles. Because of this, I think I have cautious optimism for Xboxs next console. I saw someone's steam machine test kit only worked for around 20 minutes. So I'm not hopeful for that. I want to boycott PlayStation but some of my favorite games of all time I had bought digitally on here. Elden Ring, God of War 2018/Ragnarok, and Ghost of Tsushima, and I'm not sure what I'd do without them. I'm not reliant on them but they have made me excellent memories. I dont think they will terminate previous gens to drive sales for their next piece of tech, but other companies have done this. Most notably Apple.
TLDR : Confused about the future, and will keep an eye on Xbox
