OMG y'all I am so giddy. I've had an original 3DS XL for ages, but recently I learned about its hinge issue, which made me a touch nervous to use it. Therefore, I began to seek out a New model. As well as checking the usual marketplaces, I asked around on many of the forums I'm on, to see if someone I knew just had one lying around that they were willing to part with.

Someone was, for $200.

I just got this Galaxy edition New 3DS XL last week, and yesterday I modded it. My first time modding too, that 3DS Hacks Guide is brilliant because even an idiot like me can follow it. System transfer went great as well.

Of course, out of curiosity, I had to see whether I had TN or IPS screens. OMG DUAL IPS SCREENS Y'ALL. I could scarcely believe it when I saw it. I am just so, so happy I found this thing.

So now, I'm going to retire my original 3DS XL. Got a stand for it and everything. Any tips for keeping an inactive 3DS long-term safely?

Y'all, I am so excited. I recently fell back in love with my original 3DS XL. In coming to this subreddit and other places, however, I learned about its hinge issue. So, I decided to seek out a New model before they went up further in price. Before seeking out marketplaces, I asked around on some forums I'm on, and someone was willing to sell me this beauty.

It's near pristine, as it was barely used, but its battery has been replaced. I can't wait to mod it, move my saves over from the original 3DS XL and retire that one before its hinge starts having issues. I just wanted to share how excited I am. Thank you so much for this awesome community.
