I mean a nothing trade, hardly a top name and like all the rest contributes .. who knows what Fuller saw in him or has changed but how bloody great is this front office now ??

None of us guessed we would’ve first now and no one expected this amount of fun.

However, because of this our expectations have risen above where the rebuild should have left us. That’s great that it is but got to remember we are still a WIP.

There are gaps in pitching, the need to firm up outfield and get a bit more from the IF and catching, though Teel will get better and Mune not that far away ..

Just always remember even this time last year some positive signs way behind …

Will has still a lot to learn regarding the BP etc

Another good rehab outing tonight and looking great already. Sure to be called up last season before TJ and we know Hagen won’t happen .. need a starter so could be quite soon ?

Pretty clear when we got Newcombe and indeed Kay they were like mid season trade pieces ..

Well both more than done enough to earn a decent return but also we are now PO contenders ..

the roster is a fascinating question and lets look at each position group, pitching is always in flux.

Catcher - Well we have done all this without Teel, amazing but when/if Back presume Romo will be dropped

1b/2b/3b/SS/DH - What a great situation this is and all but Acuna performing ! Chase, Colson, Miggy and Mune all cert and the way they are playing can be part of championship run. They obviously all stay - extend Mune !!!

Jacob - Well obviously can be sent down but is he 1B/DH cover

Benny - cheap trade or DFA surely soon ?? But he is playing well !!! it is amazing stuff
Underneath, well you have players like Galanie performing, of course Caleb is looming, Billy a bit behind and then the draft ... come to that

OF - At the start we all looked at it and went, hmmm, well, its a mess and now ...

Sam A - we all love him, works so well as a platoon bookend to Chase and is he a LF, no space in IF !! Keep obviously

Tristan - adore him, he is more than just cover for positions - Keep

Hill - done his job but see no long term for him, release and thanks !!

Rikku - adorable, perfect squad man in a young team, his numbers may get better but what he is worth to the team is far more than base numbers !

Grichuk - what can you say, magnificent !!! but trade asset now ?

So then we come to Braden and Perriera, one is clearly destined for RF and done what he needed to at Charlotte and Perriera is he injury prone ?? if so no real loss, but something there.

Beyond that it is thin but look at how they are developing !!!

So then you come to the draft, as the team in 1st ever been in such a strong position to draft, doubt Getz expected this. Do we really need a SS but the best two players clerkly that and can cover obviously any position but Getz must be having the biggest smile int he sport !!

One thing for sure we are buyers now and actually we have some pieces to trade others may want etc and we can almost take our pick ....
