I think I just found one of the easiest ways to mask compartments and gear bays. Thoughts?
I just used masking putty like filling putty. Has anybody else used this method before?

Had a broken Xbox controller (dead sticks and D-pad) and some time to kill. Will this cut it for Beam?
I got these when my Aunt died and didn’t get much further than wiping the Toshiba and setting up a new windows 10 account. The RCA wont let me clean the drive and set up a new account due to a ‘lack of space’. It’s kinda soft-locked at the moment. My though for the Toshiba is swapping the drive for an SSD, upgrading the ram enough to be usable, and potentially a CPU upgrade (it’s slower than frozen molasses and the 3gb of DDR3 is basically useless). The problem is that I don’t know the best/trustworthy places to source parts, nor do I know what all the board and other components can handle. Any suggestions? If I can get the system working, I’m planning on installing Bazzite given that I’ve already set it up on my Lenovo. (The one with a duck on the case).
I figure that the people here will be able to give me much more insight than a few google searches and so I thank you in advance for any replies.
I’m going to be turning in my school laptop soon (the end of the year is soon, so they have us turn our computers in early) and decided to take a look inside. I hope the next kid to get it will enjoy it :)
I’ve been getting sick of Windows garbage and started looking into switching to Linux (main distros I’ve looked at are Pop!_os, Bazzite, and Nobara). The problem is that I don’t really know what I’m doing, I’ve just tried to find distros that would work with my system, allow for my intended uses, and be easier to navigate that something like Arch.
My PC is a MSI Codex R2 AI (32 gb DDR5, intel ultra 7 265, 2Tb SSD, and 5060 ti 8gb)
I mostly use it for gaming through Steam (and Epic for the weekly freebies) but also use things like Krita, OBS, and FreeCAD. (Hence why I don’t know what distro would work best for gaming and productivity).
I would like to fully switch to Linux rather than dual boot with a partition (if I knew how to do that lol). I just don’t know the correct process to do so. Should I delete all my current software and games if I won’t use windows again? How do I even remove windows? How do I set up drivers for things like my GPU? How do I keep track of and conduct updates? What exactly is “kernel level” anti cheat in multiplayer games? Will my wheel still work? (Logitech g920 with pedals and shifter). How do I navigate and learn to use linux in the first place? What resources are essential for the swap? (Hardware and software, I’ve heard that proton is important for steam games). Are there any good visual guides like videos? What are some common mistakes while swapping? There’s probably a lot of things I’ve forgot as I’m typing this.
I’m sorry for so many questions, I just dont like feeling helpless or confused about things before I do them. Also sorry for making this a post and not a thread, the thread seemed as though replies to inquiries weren’t exactly a guarantee. Thanks in advance for any replies.
