Don’t mind the Wardogs they are just passing through

Hello fellow cult members!! I decided to try get through a lot of my pile of shame and landed upon our patriarch!! I was hoping to achieve a weird almost flayed skin look with the carapace having a sort of bone look to it!!

I am by no means an expert painter so I know I’ve a lot to learn but I’m hoping to get some advice on if I should add anything else to this or leave him as is!!(base will be done later I promise)

Hello fellow dark god enjoyers I’d like to start by saying I love having a horde of lil dudes it’s why I like playing a bunch of cultists in most of my lists but I’ve decided I want to try lean into the cultists more!!

That being said I’m a bit stuck I dont have a huge amount of cultists (around 60 at the time of this post) and I’m just wondering is it worthwhile to throw in some bigger dudes to be sort of like distractions? Like a Lord of skulls maybe? Or would I be better off leaving it all together, I play in a more casual setting so I’m not worried about having a more fluff list but any suggestions are welcome!!

So I managed to find someone selling 2 of this box for about €150 and I was wondering is this a decent way of getting into the army? I know two boxes might be overkill but I do think all of the models are cool and wouldn’t mind having an extra patriarch to paint just to have, any other recommendations would be appreciated also!!
