Range Day! Putting the Next Gen Pro thru its paces. 700 rounds so far.

I’ve been shooting this since I got it a while back. It’s been mostly reliable but had an issue with a certain ammo. I’m happy to say that after 700 rounds, it’s now 100% reliable and I’m very happy with it. I’ll put another 500 rounds and then add it to my carry rotation if it stays that way. I use a variety of mags from different manufacturers and all have been reliable. Shooting 115gr and 124gr range ammo and 124gr hollow points.

C&H filler plate for the RMSc (K footprint) optics on the Echelon.

Here are some pics of the C& H precision filler plate on my Echelon with the Osight SE enclosed optic. The plate fills in the gaps nicely and doesn’t raise the optic any noticeable amount.

Kimber Next Gen Pro 1911 final form

My optic plate arrived the other day for the RMSc pattern optic so I could mount my Osight SE. I also wasn’t a fan of the factory grips. Even though they were nice, they didn’t have too much grip. I picked up a G10 set and I think they look pretty nice. I took it to the range today for a function check to make sure I wasn’t going to have any issues with the plate and get the optic sighted in. I ran 100 rounds of 9mm 115gr Fiocchi thru the gun with no issues with the plate. It’s still firmly mounted and the optic is sighted in.
I’m very happy with the gun so far.

New to Kimber, not to firearms. Next Gen 1911

I picked up the Stainless Next Gen 1911 4.25” the other day and took it to the range today for evaluation. I ran 200 rounds of 115gr Fiocchi and ArmsCor ammo thru it. The only hiccup I had was that the gun does not like Wilson Combat and Nighthawk Custom mags. All of the rest of the mags (checkmate, Ruger, Springfield and Kimber) ran just fine. I can only surmise that there is a corner on the aftermarket mags that is higher and more square that the gun doesn’t like. I’m not concerned about it though since the rest of my mags ran fine. It’s a great gun and I’m looking forward to putting more rounds thru it.

New Kimber Next Gen 1911

I picked up this Kimber I have been looking at for a while now. It’s a 9mm 4.25” and I think it’s absolutely one of the best looking 1911’s I’ve ever seen coming straight from the factory. I can’t wait to go shoot it this weekend!

Anyone eaten here?

We saw this Hibachi food truck at 61st and Mingo and was thinking about trying it.

Added 2 new Springfields to my stable. Both are excellent.

I got a great deal on the Garrison and even though I’m not a huge fan of the PBJ TRP, I just couldn’t pass up the great buy. Both are excellent, some of the best Springfields I own to date.

New Trigger on the Mete SF One Series.

I added a spare flat faced Canik trigger I had lying around to my Mete SF. I took it to the range today and the new trigger is much better than the stock curved trigger. There is a long take up, but the wall is very noticeable and the reset is minimal. I’m very happy with it.

I received the threaded barrel today from Canik and now feel like my Mc9LS is complete. My mods are pretty simple, the Canik flat faced trigger, threaded barrel and the Osight SE enclosed optic. I can’t wait to get it to the range and try out the new barrel.
