Went down around 50mph wearing Pando Moto UH03 Jacket - review

A car pulled out into my lane with no warning and very abruptly on an NSL dual carriageway traveling far below the speed limit. Emergency braking turned into a forward flip/stoppie, throwing me down the tarmac at (guessing) at least 50mph. on my torso I was wearing only the mentioned jacket with a tshirt over the top

Abrasion: zero road rash at all on my upper body apart from some cuts on my knuckles. The jacket didn’t rip or melt. You can see where I’ve slid down the tarmac as it has a slight shine but honestly the jacket held up really well.

Impact: I did break my clavicle and require surgery but in my opinion this is a pretty classic impact injury and is quite hard to avoid.

I think it’s also worth adding that the paramedics struggled to cut the jacket off me.

I don’t post often but thought this information could be useful to someone. It’s so comfortable and great to wear when it’s hot as well. I used to wear a leather jacket but felt so restricted in my movements and hot/sweaty but this isn’t an issue at all with the Pando jacket.

I have helmet and leathers cover so I can claim to get a new one but even if I didn’t I’d be buying another one without a doubt.

Again, I don’t post often so apologies if format or writing style isn’t great.

Happy to answer any questions.

Binned it at Hartside yesterday

Throwaway as this is obviously a small world so I’m sure some of you’ll know who I am.

Me and my bike somehow walked away relatively unscathed. Most damage is to my confidence. First crash, so at least I picked a decent place to do it! But I just want to get back out on my bike to rebuild confidence but can’t really until I’ve had a mechanic look at it and made sure she’s all good.

In a weird way i’m kind of glad it happened how it did, as I’ve walked away with no major injuries, and my bike is intact, but it could’ve (and probably should’ve) been so much worse. I definitely needed a bit of a wake up call so yeah I got one and it wasn’t too serious.

Help!

Just picked up my 2018 S1000RR today and noticed this happen a few times on the way home. When giving it gas the revs jump up a bit and if I back off the throttle a bit it goes back to normal. Does anyone know what it could be? It’s for a brand new rear tyre but it didn’t feel like I was breaking traction. Clutch slipping maybe? The bike has done 8k miles.

Friendly motorbike MOT garages?

Hello all,

My bike is up for its MOT next month, and it’s a bit on the loud side… I was wondering if anyone knows of any “friendly” shops that won’t mind too much?

Apart from that the bike is in mint condition and won’t have any issues.

Preferably in the Jarrow/Boldon area

Thanks in advance!

Radiator replacement

A stone or other debris has hit my radiator and caused a leak (the dent on the left of the circled area. The dark area is coolant).

I didn’t notice as temp stayed normal so I got home and didn’t have a clue until the next day I noticed a small puddle on the floor under my bike.

I’ve ordered a new radiator, coolant, and a radiator guard which I’m planning on fitting this weekend.

Has anyone got any helpful tips or considerations for me? I’m pretty handy with tools and have done a few things myself already on the bike with the help of YouTube but can’t seem to find anything there or in the owners manual about a radiator swap. Any help appreciated :)
