Marvel Comics - Italian Edition

I’m a sucker for finding random comic book shops wherever I travel, much to the frustration of my family. I picked up a few Italian editions of classic 60s Marvel comics printed in the 70s by Editorial Corno in Italy, and I thought they were too interesting not to share. As a UK reader I grew up reading anthology‑style formats, this books contain Captain America, X‑Men, and a short horror story all bundled together - the Italian presentation / translation gives them a completely different but familiar vibe, I think.

I love seeing how American comics were adapted around the world. As a teenager in the 80s when visiting Europe I would purchase random issues of Marvel and DC regardless of the language to keep me entertained. Does anyone else collects these international editions? I don’t know that much about Italian printed comics.

Final comment was wow Italy has a lot of Comic book shops, Manga is very popular , it was really nice to see.

Posting for the hell of it

Thought I’d post something from my collection after reading Alpha Flight will be appearing in the latest Wolverine run. I’m a Brit and my first love is Excalibur and all things X. However my first introduction to a superhero team was Alpha Flight, way back in the 80s in the back pages of Marvel UK’s fortnightly Secret Wars anthology. The magazine format publication would contain 7 pages of primary book and 7 pages of a back up book, plus some games, activities and usually a double page splash poster. Good times, Alpha Flight issues 1 to 8 were published, before being switched to the Iceman limited series and the finally to an original UK ‘Zoids’ story line (which written by a young Grant Morrison).

What grade would you give?

My latest Steranko. His covers always just look amazing to me, even when the poses of the characters are really off. It just all seems to come together to make an excellent action packed cover.

I’m curious about the grade, I think 7ish. The cover condition I think is the worst part, the interior is in great shape. What do you all think?

Got this today at MCM, super pleased. I think Declan’s version really captures her essence.

My male peal has raw skin around his body. He’s the largest fish in tank with 2 females that how continuously bickers with. Does anybody have any idea what is wrong with him?
