The Ahsoka S2 Teaser Trailer looks so good!

I watched it on YouTube and immediately regretted reading the YouTube comments, but who else is pumped?!

34M - (EST/US) To Be Seen, To Be Known

Good morning (if you're in North America, that is!)

I have posted here previously, but thought it might be helpful for both myself and potential new connections to be more forthcoming and transparent about who I am and what I am looking for in a friendship.

I live on the East Coast US with my wife and tabby cat. We are a happy clan of 3, but due to mental health struggles and the pressure and responsibility of work, I often feel quite lonely. I would like to expand my found family and meet people who resonate on my same frequency.

About me: I work in the mental health field. I do not want to act as a therapist in this space, but I am happy to be a supportive, empathetic friend. Trust is built over time, so I feel strongly that if we gradually get to know one another rather than test the boundaries right away, a healthy bond will follow.

I have my own history of trauma, anxiety, and depression. I share this not to evoke pity, but to make you aware so you can decide if we are compatible as friends. I've done a lot of meaningful work on myself, but I will fully admit I stumble often and require patience and understanding.

Having shared the above, you should also know that I have a silly, light-hearted sense of humor and an urgent sense of curiosity for the world around me. If I am comfortable, I will talk until my lungs give out or your ears fall off, whichever comes first. I enjoy a wide variety of stereotypically geeky hobbies and interests, enjoy cooking as a passion and a love language, and frequently engage in creative pursuits.

I am seeking curious, self possessed, warm hearted individuals who would like to experience life together, either near or far. It would be amazing if we overlap in some capacity interest wise, but I am more concerned with spending time with people who share the same values and general temperament. My wife and I are left leaning and non religious, and that's a fairly important sticking point for me in terms of sharing worldview so please be aware. I also am at a stage in my life where I do not have room for unmitigated anger, as I want to have safe, healthy adults around my children in the future.

If you have read this far, I think that already speaks toward the potential for us to be best buds. I am a chatty, strange little guy, but I have a lot of love, snacks, and factoids to offer to the right kind of people. Let me know what you're reading or watching lately. Maybe we can swap recipes or be accountability partners. The world is an oyster (and a vampire!)

25+ only, I think that's just appropriate. Please note, I will be ignoring low effort or inappropriate responses and will not continue dialogue that becomes flirtatious or unkind.

I hope we connect, and happy friending!

34M - Putting The Clown Signal Out In The Sky

Hi future friends! I am a married, hard working professional who could use more friendships and close connections at this stage in my life.

I live in the NYC area. If anyone is in the tri-state/within a reasonable distance, I would love to one day meet up and get coffee or drinks and just hang!

Even if you're far away, please feel free to message (late 20's and older, please!) I would very much like to connect with anyone who is kind, relatively articulate (can string sentences together so I don't have to put the team on my already sore back), silly, and patient.

I am left leaning in my social and political proclivities, into a veritable smorgasbord of nerdy interests, a decent cook, and most importantly, I have a cat. If you are kind and gentle, I will share her with you.

I would really love to watch movies, voice call, and play games with a friend, and we can use Discord for long distance! Once the vibe check is complete, we can always pivot there :)

All genders welcome, come as you are. Please be kind and respectful.

34M - (EST, US) I Did Want A Friend (The Sequel)

Hello all,

A few weeks back, I made a fairly successful satirical post (satire which was lost on some, literacy be damned) about not wanting to make a friend under any circumstances. I thought, and rightfully so it seemed, that if I poked fun lovingly at some of the poor behavior and misfires that happen in this space, it might create some healthy dialogue. The thing is...I really did want to make a friend.

Truth be told, I have been trying on and off for about a year and a half now with no real success to connect with someone in this space. It's been disheartening how difficult it is to connect with other adults. I am amazed and nostalgic for the days as a child when I would show my Power Ranger flip head action figures or new Pokémon cards and a new bond was formed. Now, it feels like the rules have changed. I know we're all exhausted living through this era, and I don't just mean physically. I have encountered many excellent humans who just have their guard way up, making it impossible to forge meaningful connections. I also met one adult baby. That's a different thing, but felt worth mentioning.

I'm not sure what the intent here is exactly. I am 90% convinced this is meant to be my epilogue in this space, to make my peace with seeking online friends. Maybe the last 10% is hoping there's still someone I missed who might be looking for me too.

Many of us here are busy, lonely, and doing our best. All I can say is, please be kind. Everyone deserves a friend.

Unsure But Hopeful

Good morning, and Happy Unveiling Day to all who are celebrating! 🤘🏻

Just writing to ask for some advice/get perspectives:

So I finished this horror novel earlier in the week, about a young woman born into a Satanic cult. The book itself was a bummer, but they can't all be winners. I usually read what other people have to say about a book or film afterwards to gain perspectives. I was intrigued at someone's comment at how the author relied more on the Satanic Panic stereotypes of Satanism, which in turn led me to research what *actual" Satanism looks like in practice.

There is something about The Satanic Temple that calls to me deeply. I, like I imagine many of you did, grew up in the Catholic Church and continued to be surrounded by unhealthy and unwelcome variations of Christianity and the unfortunate current ties to extreme conservatism for many years, including among family and neighbors. It has fractured and altered so many relationships and left me seeking a sense of faith elsewhere, as atheism can feel quite hollow and empty for me at least. I am in my 30's now, happily married and settled into my career, but still seeking community. I don't know that I've ever fit nearly into one place socially. This community feels welcoming, though. I guess I wanted just some gentle, good faith assurance that this is still so, that there might be space for me here in TST. I believe strongly in the moral and ethical messages upheld in the Seven Tenets, and would be honored to stand among compassionate people with conviction to do some good in the world.

Any constructive feedback is appreciated. I have questions and curiosities and would honestly love to speak privately by DM if anyone from the community/congregation would be willing to speak to me.

P.S. and I mean this: I have some black T shirts, but are there members who also wear bright colors? I'm kinda more of a blue jeans and Vans/punk rock type of guy than strictly metal haha. I am anxious by nature as you can likely tell, so these are considerations I think about.

EDIT: I joined :) Thanks for all the helpful information provided here. I applied to my local congregation and I'm stoked.

ELI5 - General Help With Builds

Hey gang!

My wife and I recently came back to Diablo 3 after several years. We had originally tried to play it when we first started dating and didn't get very far in co-op. This time though, we finished Story Mode and have now moved on to Adventure Mode!

I want to get the most out of the game, especially because my partner has expressed a great enthusiasm for playing together and it's been a really amazing way for us to bond. Can anyone help me better understand how to build our characters effectively? I think our stats are way low for where we are, but I'm not sure what to prioritize beyond looking for legendary or set items. I'm hoping since I'm asking kindly and with the intention of sharing this with my partner, I can avoid responses to "Google it", please. I would value just a general breakdown or even if you can just point me towards a link or video series per class that you have used to build your characters.

For reference, we play on the Switch. I am a Paragon level 17 Wizard and she is a Barbarian.

34M - I Do NOT Want To Make A Friend!

You read that right!

A warm, supportive, platonic (that means non sexual and non flirtatious, Reddit) friendship is the last thing I need. Could you imagine? In this economy?!

I would prefer not to engage with like minded, emotionally intelligent and self possessed individuals who share my values, humor, and general worldview. That would be terrible for all involved.

What if we clicked and then had to share our interests?! Would we sit down and watch movies together? Talk games that we've played or just share triumphs and challenges we're experiencing lately? Gross.

It would be a shame to connect with other left leaning, non Christian nationalist people who want to give that orange man who lives in a big white house a swirlie.

Well anyway, just stopping by. Thanks for understanding how much I don't want to make a friend in the ways I outlined above.

EDIT: Holy cowzer, this did numbers. Thank you to everyone who read through my text (and subtext) and reached out! I am working my way through all the messages now.

34M - Something Real, Make It Timeless

34 year old male, EST/US. Please read to the end!

I would very much like to make a close friend, someone who might even become my best friend with time. I am less bored and more lonely at this stage in my life, and would appreciate the opportunity to connect with someone who shares my interests, values, and enthusiasm for life in general, in spite of all its ups and downs.

About me: Married to a wonderful and empathetic human, we have a tabby cat, I am a professional listener for a living. I am principled and stubborn but can also be pretty silly and ridiculous when I feel comfortable enough to let my guard down. I deal with anxiety and would benefit from the type of friend who knows what that's like. Non religious and far left leaning -- hopefully we align especially on the latter, because it matters to me in terms of how you show up as a citizen of the world.

I enjoy casual gaming mostly on the Switch, play DnD and Magic with my partner but would like to play with others, take great pleasure in cooking and sharing meals with loved ones, and I would love to meet someone who I can watch horror or fantasy movies and go on adventures with together. A boy can dream.

Please only respond if you have genuine intentions. I am sensitive and don't want to function as a means to an end for someone's boredom, but would love to make a true blue friend. SFW replies only out of respect for me, my partner, and the general sanctity of this space as a platform for friendship building. Ideally, if we are both comfortable, we can eventually exchange photos and maybe voice/video chat on a separate platform.

Have a solid day ✌🏻

Thank You

This show is so special to me. It's without a doubt my favorite TV show. I saw a lot of myself and my own lived family experience in the Berzatto family. Watching The Bear has made me feel less alone and more hopeful for the future. I wanted to put this here to maybe connect with other fans who share a similar experience, or maybe just really enjoyed their watch all the way through the finale.

Every second counts 💙

34M - How Do You Do, Fellow Kids?

Hey there. You've got some updawg on your screen. How embarrassing...

I am a human person (allegedly) made up of molecules and cells and various neuroses. I enjoy short walks on the beach and long, meandering conversations. I am commissioning a crew presently to take a maiden voyage aboard my favorite vessel. All aboard the friend ship!

Successful applicants would be kind, eccentric, and full of wonder. Sense of adventure is a must, for who knows where our imaginations may take us! Please have good snacks and refrain from using the term yapper, if at all possible. This captain prefers a crew that is verbose, loquacious, garrulous, and altogether chatty. Weirdos welcome, but keep your pants firmly affixed upon your person. Ye have been warned.

We set sail at dawn! ☠️

34M - Medium In The Middle

Hi!

34M from East Coast US here. I am aiming to hit the sweet spot in this space in the interest of making friends, but it kinda feels like attempting to make the Death Star run without the luxury of using the Force.

Choose your own adventure:

  1. Silly, silly fun time. We can be lighthearted and kid will have jokes.

  2. Existential dread with a side helping of crushing anxiety. But like, all heart.

I'm a 3 dimensional human being who likes people, places, and things probably same as you.

I would really like to be your friend and I promise I'm a weirdo but not a creep, if that helps.
